Training to use Charms - Currently Product Testing

PRODUCT TESTING!

HollowEyes wanders around the room, totally ignoring the fight between Little Sister and Net. "I've been issued the following charms by various spirits, but I'm not sure which would be worth selling and which ones wouldn't. So, I've brought them here for people to test, and see which ones they like." As he talked, he placed several packets of newly-made charms on a small table he'd just set up.

"Instructions are on the table, and so that you don't tear each other apart, I've enlisted the help of two characters you might recognize... We'll be practicing outside, so that we don't destroy anything too valuable. So go out that door when you're ready."

Cornelius, the EC's infamous punching bag, and Douglas, the Dojo's unkillable complainer, were both waiting outside as they'd been told. Cornelius is visably terrified at the prospect of his imminent and brutal death, whilst Douglas appears visably dissatisfied with everything about his life.

*Net2 places the Charm of the Vile Toad on a near-by frog and begins the delicate procedure of licking the slime off it.*

Net: ...Isn't it my job to do really stupid things?
Net2: SHUT IT!
Net: ...Anyway, gimmie a sharp spine thingy.

*Net whacks the Vile Toad charms and the Troublesome Cactus charms on his finger-claws. Hopefully, the ink and the toxin will combine to make an incredibly potent toxin capable of killing gods, but more likly than not it'll just give off a pungent odur.*

Now, Little Sister, shall we finish what we started?

*Net lunges at Little Sister, aiming for the eyes. I presume Parasitians have eyes, of course.*

((Wow, sorry to reply so late Net, I'd gotten too used to the idea of no one posting here And yes, you'd be correct in assuming that LS has eyes, and most Parasitians do, since they're born with them.))

Little Sister bends away from Net, a maneuvre made easy by her lack of a spine. She looks up to see the damage that he's done, and sees that he's shredded a large part of the wall away. She also noticed that it had left behind a disgusting inky slime, from which a toxic-looking haze was wafting.

~Probably best not to go breathing that in...~ She thought to herself, darting around Net to get herself away from being backed against the wall. She really didn't like charms that much, and still having the sticky ink in her hair, she couldn't use them even if she wanted to. She tries the same move as before, hurling a large pile of sticky ink-soaked hair at Net, hoping that she might catch him off guard this time.

((Hm, four charms all at once... I should probably put a limit on the number you can use together, although it's definately more interesting this way. Given that the ink's not poisonous, it wouldn't increase the potency of the toxin, although it would mean that you leave large amounts of toxin wherever you slash.))

*Net is hit by the full force of Little Sister's hair-clump, knocking him to the floor and dazing him.

((Would Little Sister try and eat Net? I mean, what if she got his bad innuendo? Then again, Time Control could come in handy. Would the toxic charm protect Net from her?))

((In this kind of situation, Little Sister isn't going to try eating Net. This thread's not really so much for fighting as it is for practicing with and promoting charms Given that HollowEyes is still nearby with an almost obscene amount of charms, she'd be incredibly stupid if she were to try something.

But, since you asked, yes, the vile toad charm would protect you from being eaten by Little Sister, provided that you make sure to touch her with some of it's toxin. It would be very hard for her to concentrate on killing or eating you if she was hallucinating.))

Noticing that Net was knocked out, Little Sister made her way back to HollowEyes. ~Think he'll still buy anything?~ HollowEyes looked over Net carefully for a few moments. "I think we'd probably need to give him a few free samples or something first."

Meanwhile, Cornelius and Douglas continued to stand around, one growing more and more terrified of his imminent and certain death, the other becoming more and more depressed that he'd just lived for another minute.

Ravil applies a Charm of the Vexing Fox to her head and grunts as needle sharp fangs grow in her mouth,and then turns to douglas and slashes at him wildly,grinning as she grabbed his arm,and bites down on it,letting him feel trhe pain as she then applys a charm of the vile toad to her forehead.she spits the poision in the wound and clamps down on douglas's arms with her claws,making more cuts in his flesh.lifting him off the ground,she drops her head so it's facing the floor and ramms it forward,impailing him with her horns.she pulls him off and throws him at corneilious before she pulls the charm of the vile toad and the Charm of the Vexing Fox off her head.she grinns as she waves her claws about a bit,and glances at net briefly "I have got to buy some of these charms sooner or later.Three inch claws are not to be laughed at.

*Net2 walks in, takes a photo of Net's humiliated form and stashes a bunch of charms in his pocket when he thinks nobody is looking.*

((How'd you deal with theives? Do those charms work outside the Training Dojo?))

((These are charm samples, so if someone steals them, HollowEyes can always try to cancel the contract between the spirit. If they were regular charms, HollowEyes wouldn't be able to do anything about it, but these are only samples.

The real problem would be if the spirit didn't want to do what HollowEyes said - the spirits approach him to offer their samples, not the other way around. If they see someone that interests them using their powers, they might not want to cut them off. In any case, there's nothing stopping HE and LS from hunting down theives and gutting them like fish if they ever find out. ))

A small amphibian hopping about outside found itself being encircled by smoke, and then promptly turned into a toad. This small spectacle went by unnoticed by anyone, as the toad spirit had intended. It made it's way to the Training Dojo, wondering who had caused the power transfer in the charms he'd lent to HollowEyes.

HollowEyes was the only medium for animal spirits in the Blackstar Dojo, and the sudden appearance of so many powerful people in one place had many of the animal spirits willing to forgo their personal feelings at the possibility of gaining more disciples, and many had begun to approach HollowEyes offering to make a deal with him. The young Parasitian medium seemed somewhat reluctant at first, but finally gave in upon the advice of several of his own spirits.

The toad spirit didn't really like HollowEyes all that much, as it preferred more outgoing and open people, so rather than ask him what had happened, it had decided that seeing for itself might be better.

As Douglas collapsed on the ground, Cornelius screamed, knowing that he'd be next. Seeing the chance to make a break for it, he ran off into the forest. "Excuse me twelve legged goat, mind telling me when the hallucinations wear off?" A severly wounded Douglas slurred to no one in particular.

Sora grabs a Charm of the Razorback Fiend and a Charm of the Vexing Fox. He puts the Fox charm on his metal arm and Sora holds the Charm of the Razorback Fiend above his head. Sora takes out a Cornelius hair and allows the Fiends to sniff it. The fiends run off which meant they caught the Cornie scent. Sora quickly ran in order to catch up while Mura and Masa went ahead. Sora stopped and saw Cornelius surrounded by the fiends. "Oh man this will be good" Sora mutters while making popcorn appear.

((Sorry Mag, but I'll need to clarify a few things. Charms like the fox charm don't work on inorganic surfaces, so Sora would have to apply it to his non-metallic arm, otherwise nothing would happen. Secondly, you pretty much nailed how the razorback fiends would act, but you'd usually stick a summoning charm like that one on the ground (otherwise you'd have three large boars hit you on the head ).))

The razorback fiends begin to ram Cornelius again and again, trying to gore him with their tusks as he scrambles up a nearby tree, still screaming.

Douglas still seems to be under the influence of the toad charm's hallucinogenic toxin, babbling away to a non-existant bunch of tourists from the goose planet.

The toad spirit's vessel hopped up to Net2 and leapt into his pocket when nobody was looking. ~So you're the punk who stole my charm samples...~ The toad spirit seemed to be checking Net2 for something, but he stopped after a while. ~You've got five minutes to show me what you're capable of.~

((Animal spirits don't really know individual spirits, so the toad spirit wouldn't know who Net2 is (neither do I, where exactly does Net2 fit in with the spirit world? ).))

*Net2 turns to look at the Toad, squinting at him as though expecting to see something more... Large. Resisting the urge to lick the toad-spirit, Net attempts to converse with the creature.*

...Oooookay... Why not? Gimmie a target.

((I don't know either. He doesn't, really. I figured he'd be the spirit of memory or something awesomely powerful like that, but I've never actually had a chance to use him before.))

The toad spirit grins and points to a random student who's trying to cast a simple fire spell of some sort. It's blatantly obvious that this kid is as about as skilled at fire magic as Cornelius is at not getting slaughtered every few minutes.

"Start with giving that brat a bit of a reality check."
