Ideas of Things to Do

I thought that we might brainstorm some ideas about what we might want to do as a group. Feel free to add your own suggestions, or propose a modification to an earlier suggestion. Then if you really want to follow up on an idea, start a new thread and get things running....

a few obvious ones,
-We could start up our own RPGs which those nasty ol' EC folks can't play in na na na

-We could set up a thread where we post brief RPs or mock battles and then have our game play evaluated and critiqued so as to improve our skills.

Have you got other ideas?

Two Words, One Idea, Infinate Possibilities:

EVIL PLOTS!

Well, I suppose in your case they wouldn't be Evil. But It's one of the fun ideas of these secret type groups. The EC is starting work on another idea right now. No, no details, I've already told you too much.

Plots would be kind of fun. Apparently, the EC plots - although they exist to create havoc and discord galore - are quite entertaining if disruptive (see EC Plots: Episode 1: The Fudgeman Menace). Maybe we could conjure up some ideas to promote our values as a group.

Starting our own RP might be bad. we're already got quite a few ongoing in the Dojo, and we need to get some groups moving in the COrporate Development thread. Perhaps we ought to think carfully first before we jump in. Maybe we could use the Gameware Forum Wars as a starting place?

How would excluding the EC from our RPs work? We have members that are in the EC and they make up about 50% of the RPing community.

Ok, so if you don't lke the idea of starting our own RPs, then don't start one.

The point of "brainstorming" is to generate a lot of ideas and then pick the best one(s), and develop that idea.

What's the point of being a group if we don't do anything except exist. We should do somethings as a group, right?

So, its not a matter of what do we not want to do?, but rather,-
What is our purpose in existing, and what do we want to do about it?

Goron, I'm not sure just who or what you are referring to, I don't mean to be critical of any thing or anybody. The Guardians thread is great. I'm just trying to get some brainstorming going about what we want to be and do.

That usually entails not being critical of anyones ideas initially, but compiling a good sized list of posibilities and then refining those ideas into some kind of plan or action. My intention was simply to discourage criticism and encourage a free flow of ideas, lots and lots of ideas.

(If you don't like somebodies ideas you don't have to say that yet, you just don't follow up on it. Critisism at this point tends to discourage others from suggesting things that they are not sure of.)

So if anyone was offended by anything I posted, I suspect that you misunderstood what I was trying to say, and I'm sorry for that misunderstanding.

( the wisecrack about excluding the EC was only a reference to the fact that EC characters can't really play in our area and maybe we want some RPs in here, as I assume that they have things going on in their area)

He was referring to me and my comment about RPs draining members, or something of the sort.

I just felt like mentioning that members do tend to spend either too much time or not enough time in RPs when multiple ones get going. Having had a difficult time multi-tasking many RPs AND real life, I felt I ought to mention this.

Shine, you hae a good point about our group. We really don't have much of a point...with a name like the Guardians, though, we have a general idea: guard stuff, or look out for it. What, though? The Dojo as a whole? The new members? Truth, Justice and The American Way? Waffles? If we define this, then our plans can come together much more easily.

I'm not adverse to being caretakers of the Dojo. Heck, as thw Wild's mod, I don't see any problem with us being civic caretakers or gardeners.

So we're the gardeners, then? We help to weed out anything overly powerful or dominant (aside form the Sensei, of course)? Sounds m'kay by me.

I say we are, in fact, Guardians. We guard the balance, to make sure the Dojo does not become overly good or overly evil, instead a perfect neutral.

There you go. We're not 'Good' and we can still have a reason to battle the EC.

That may fit with your character, but not with mine. Considering the range of different characters involved in this, I was hoping for something a little less restrictive. It's an alliance of characters of various different alignments, and each comes for their own reasons.

Plus, we don't need to be just a Blackstar group. The EC also does things at Gameware, and even tried to invade A2K once, although that did not go far.

We're NOT staying here. At least, this is not to be our home. We shall try a private forum much like the EC. Perhaps we can try a different approach on A2K, more peaceful like, and be welcomed. If that fails invasion is fun as well.

A name is a name. The group is something totally different. The Evil Council could hardly be considered evil(hell, it may be a stretch to call them a council...). The point is, we can do whatever we choose to do, follow any path we wish. The name is simply something one can identify us with.
