By the time Kat and Shaon were almost out of the tundra, however, floating seemed a much better option than merely a "trick". Finally, Kat and Shaon made their way to the southern edge of the tundra. Just one or two more mounds to go....

((I've been convinced to rejoin this rp, although I'm not sure which character to rp as. I was rping as Marlon, buuut, I'm not sre where I want to take him, so I'll rejoin afresh as Collator and Felix.

If Ashen Rain does return, I will repost as Marlon, but, until then, you've got a human-cyborg, and a cat, who isn't quite a cat. I'm sure Shaon could appreciate this... Razz

Collator had been drawn to the frozen tundra, as there were unusual readings in this area. He had detected large life signs, his long-range scans indicated dragons of some sort. Although, he hadn't quite seen or scanned dragons as such, only one, which was now somewhere he hadn't followed, name of Syllak.

However, he was more interested in the strange readings from the ice, and collecting data from the dragons, and maybe even genetic coding. Felix was just along for the journey, as he seemed to have bonded with Collator for one reason for another. He still missed Anna, he was hoping he might meet her again through Collator.

Collator could see Shaon and Kat up in the distance, and Felix, currently in the form of a beautiful Snow Leapord had already picked up their scents. As they got deeper into the tundra, Collator was absorbing more solar energy to power his heat generators. Felix was fine, covered in several layers of thick, warm fur, his spots breaking up his form within the ice.

"Where have you sensed the presence before? In battle, or some other time? I can hardly smell anything here, with the way the wind's blowing..."

At this, Kat managed to catch sight of someone in the distance, not far past the border.

"OY! WHO ARE YOU! HELLOOOO."

"Think we should check it out, Para?"

Two more on the border. One touched by Technico, the other hiding a secret.~

The vixen looked up, spying the being nearby.

He leapt over the top of the cliff ledge with relative ease thanks to his metal spikes, and much to his surprise he spotted a couple of Council members. It shouldn't really have surprised him, because this job had been announced to everyone, but he'd sort of hoped for more time to think by himself before meeting up with anyone else. "Oh well, maybe it's better to keep my mind busy for now."

He wandered over to the two familiar people, finding his shoes were a little unsteady on this ground, as it wasn't too steep, and he was walking quite slowly. "How's the dragon hunt going, fellow Councillors?" He hadn't really spoken to either of them all that much, but he did recognize them from their files, so he didn't really feel uncomfortable talking with them.

"Hiya 3kul. The dragon hunt's been put off for a bit -there's something more important going on. Think of this. How can an area infested by fire dragons still be completely icy? There's something funny going on with the ice, and para says it's an enchantment of some kind. Right now we're going to see if the ice is still expanding at the edge of the tundra, and maybe find a use for the ice because it can regenerate really quickly. You have any idea what's going on?"

*Syllak breathed in the cool crisp air deeply as she watched. Unknown to her, she was also being watched. Syllak hadn't used her blending ability, so her grey and silver look stood out quite a bit*

*As Syllak breathed out, she heard something else behind and much larger than her also exhale. Syllak slowly turned around... to find herself face to face with a red dragon. Apparently it was slightly confused that a creature that only came up to it's knee looked like one of it's own on hind legs, as it stared at Syllak*

*Syllak simply stared back, waiting for it to speak. She didn't understand that this one wasn't as smart as the dragons she'd been told about and once met. Getting bored, the red dragon roared it's confusion, engulfing Syllak in bad breath that smelt slightly of brimstone*

*Syllak slightly winced at the smell, but once the dragon was finished Syllak roared back. Nowhere near as loud as the dragons roar, but it was a battlecry and often made Syllak sound larger and more threatening than she was*

*Her visor quickly down and the two swords out of the sheathes and in her hands, the draconian had just enough time to spot the dragons paw as it hit her hard in the side, knocking her flying into a chunk of ice. Her armour clanged with the frozen water and her silver scales, shaking her up a bit while the dragon opened it's mouth to breathe fire*

*Managing to see this Syllak brought her pwerful silver wings into play, just in time it seemed as the flames passed beneath her. Infuriated that this tiny dragon had escaped it's attack the red dragon charged Syllak, snapping it's jaws where she flew*

*Unfortunately for the dragon, it managed to bite down on Syllaks tail spikes. The metal cutting into the soft flesh of the creatures mouth, causing it to make rather pathetic whimper of pain and infuriate it even more. It tossed it's head to get rid of the sharp thing that was sticking to it's gums, causing Syllak to go flying off the edge of the cliff*

*Catching herself about halfway down Syllak opened her wings wide to glide to the ground. The infuriated dragon circled high above. Syllak had landed just in front of the three Council members, however being what she was she kept her eye on what she considered to be her opponent. The incident with the tail spikes had given her an idea, but she had to time it just right*

*Roaring again, the red dragon dived down at the unfamiliar yet somehow familiar creature. Syllak was ready for it this time, backing up just a little as the red dragon barrelled down. It breathed fire at her as it came, Syllak was forced to squeeze her sensitive eyes shut as the flames licked around her. The smell of hot metal filled the air, both Syllaks armour and scales understandably hot and singed. Syllak opened her bright red eyes just in time, even while pain from the heat shot through her*

*As the melted ice and snow underneath Syllak started to reform the red dragons front paws hit the ground, just missing the Sivak. Then jaws of the red beast came down to close around her, and that was the chance Syllak was waiting for. She leapt inside, and the dragons jaws snapped shut*

*Scant few seconds afterwards, the tip of a blade poked through the top of the dragons skull. Dead instantly, it toppled over, landing with a crash*

*For about five minutes nothing happened. It would seem Syllak had made a fatal mistake in her endeavour. But then the tip of the blade disappeared back inside it's head, and the jaws reluctantly opened to reveal a blood soaked draconian. One of the katanas was back in it sheathe, the other held in her left arm while her right held the jaws up as she stepped out*

*Syllak bowed to the three after she had moved clear of the jagged teeth and let the jaws go*

Excuse me for not introducing myself before. I am Syllak Draco. Might you all be one of these dragon hunters I've heard about?

Paranesia stopped floating side by side with Kat, instead moving over to circle the apparent stranger, looking as as if a painting by an extremely skilled artist. She was walking now, just going through the motions and floating enough so she did not make any footprints. Her hovering made her back around to where Holloweyes's elbows would be, if his armblades had any.

As she circled him, instead of examining his physical charistics, she was examining his mind. Its presence attracted her, the unusualness of it, and now she knew why. She leafed through every memory, skimming through his history, what he does, everything. Through his mindlink she located his sister, also on the same plane, the mindlink that defined his mind from a distance.

After a few laps, she stopped to stand in front of him, on her hind legs. At first, she looked quite menacing and unsteady, but she silently morphed, becoming more humanoid in features.

She stopped after only a few seconds, looking like an anthropomorphic fox, the same exact height as HollowEyes.

"Byule. A deciving name."

HollowEyes would have scrathed his head at the confusing nature of Kat's question, but he couldn't bend his arms like that. Instead, he merely swayed a little, slightly swinging his armblades around him - something which he did when he was unsure of something. "I'm not too sure why fire dragons would be here in the first place, but that's only because I don't really know all that much about them."

He thought for a few moments, trying to see if he could think of something that might be of any help. "I can't say I've noticed anything, but isn't it possible that the reason might just be because DP created this world? He's not exactly well-known for playing by the rules of logic and reason..." ((and I mean that in the nicest way DP Wink

))

At this point in time, Paranesia began to circle him, making him somewhat nervous. Although he couldn't really tell what she was doing, he felt like he was being examined. What she said shocked him a little, and he wondered why he hadn't been able to tell that she had been sifting through his mind. He regarded her with a glare of grave seriousness, as if he was telling her to mind her own business. His past was not something he desired for others to know.

"Byule is a monster's name, as cruel as it is deceiving. I prefer HollowEyes, personally."

The vixen would've grinned if she wasn't trying to invoke something interesting.

"Mmm. Why HollowEyes? All three don't seem to be pupilless, nor vacant."

Kat listened intently when Para started describing Holloweyes, but couldn't hold back a small snicker at the banter.

"Para, from your description Holloweyes is a name just as deceiving as Byule."

Kat then turned a bit towards Holloweyes, while heading towards the cliff edge. When Kat had come, the tundra ended just past this area. As she saw the edge, Kat quickly sobered up.

"Holloweyes, if you need proof that this isn't the Sensei's doing, I can give ou two very good reasons why. Firstly, most enchantments in the Dojo were made early on. This one is new, as you'll find if you check with Paranesia here. Secondly, the tundra ended just under this cliff a few days ago. Look now."

Looking over the cliffside, you could see the snow Holoweyes had gone through to get here. though the edge was still near, it was a few hills away rather than under the cliff. The tundra was indeed expanding.

HollowEyes wasn't sure what to make of Paranesia's remark about insanity, but her continual prying was becoming a little annoying. "HollowEyes is an alternative way of reading Byule - one that I can live with. You can't change your name, but you can change the way others see it."

Kat began to explain why she believed the spreading ice to be the work of someone or something other than DP, and HollowEyes looked over the cliff in the direction she'd been pointing. "How strange... It's certainly not something I noticed from the ground... I wonder if it's the actions of an individual or something else altogether."

Collator and Felix were nearing the group, when he detected a familiar life sign, Syllak. He monitored her as she fought the giant dragon, eventually winning. An impressive warrior, if not that powerful.

Felix was absent-mindedly cleaning himself while Collator waited. Once the fight was over, he began to approach the group again, finally reaching them. He looked from each of the beings, spending longer looking at Holloweyes than any of the others, quite clearly an alien.

Felix pads gently in the snow up to Shaon, and tenatively sniffs her, whilst Collator addresses Syllak, "Interesting, the way you defeated that dragon..."
