Puppet Training

((This is a private rp between 3kul and myself. Interfere and I'll eat your head. *growls* ))

Xuxi's emerald eyes scanned the small glade she was in. She was waiting for a creature by the name of 'Little Sister' who had desired to train in the art of puppetry. The feline's ghostly white pelt did no attempt to hide her, even though she was laying down in the grass.
Her tail twitched slightly, warding off an incoming fly. Xuxi's keen nose picked up the scent of someone coming near. Sitting up, she readied the five stringless marionettes for their new master.

Little Sister approached the glade somewhat cautiously. She reminded herself of the reason as to why she was here. As of late, she'd begun to realize during her time spent travelling and fighting with HollowEyes that there was a great difference between them in terms of strength. ~It's high time I changed that...~ she thought to herself, as she entered the glade.

Amongst the various services for sale, one had managed to catch her eye, as it seemed very close and well suited to her own speciality. She'd received a reply from the strange creature who was offering to teach others how to teach others about her arts, and went by the name of Xuxi.

She approached the ghostly cat with a serious look in her eye, and began to weave her hair into words.

[Might I presume that you are Xuxi?]
[Most people would call me Little Sister.]
[I am the one who requested your services.]

She had no idea how a ghost could weild puppets, but she waited anyway to see what Xuxi would instruct her to do.

The ivory feline nodded.
"And as I see, you are Little Sister. Welcome."
She brought five puppets forward.
"These will be your puppets from now on, until you create more, which I will discuss later. Each is a different species and type, as you see here."
She nudged forward the puppets. Holding up what looked to be a black bear, she began to describe each one.
"This here is Ursoro, an earth type puppet. He has great attacks, but his defence is not that great." She put the bear down and held up a gryphon.
"This is Chadon, ruler of the skies. His attacks and defences are pretty even, and he's quite clever and obedient."
The cat put the gryphon to the side and brought out a crocadile.
"Scalene is a very good defensive creature and has several water based attacks. Now, I'd like to start training with Chadon,as he's a great choice for beginners. I'll introduce the two others later."
She swept the other puppets aside and placed the miniture gryphon in front of Little Sister.
"What I need you to do is to slightly prick on of your fingers and draw a random symbol on the puppet. That'll be your otherworldly signature, therefore activating the creature. Place it wherever you like."

The puppet trembled slightly and grew to the size of a horse. Dull bead eyes now flickered with life. Chadon flapped his wings and cawed.
"Get on him and I'll give you the basic commands. Jab one of his sides to get him to go that way. Jab both to make him go forward. Voice commands are fine for everything else, for example, saying "Fly" will make him fly, ect."

This seemed nothing like what Little Sister had thought it would be, but she climbed on it just the same. Voice commands would be somewhat problematic though... She weaved her hair to form a question:

[Does it have to be voice commands?]
[Why can't I just make it do these things?]
[Isn't that the point of a puppet?]

Xuxi nodded.
"Sorry about that, I forgot you don't speak. It is possible to use them without voice commands, it just takes a lot of concentration."

(( Little Sister is not the greatest at concentrating. I should've asked you for more details on the puppets, this is seeming more and more up HollowEyes' alley. ))

Little Sister frowned and tried to concentrate on flying. It was difficult because she'd never flown before, so she tried concentrating on scuttling instead.

Chadon, being four legged and having a totally different body structure to hers, had no idea what she was going on about, and stumbled around in circles for a little while, which is all it could gather was what she'd wanted it to do. ((Not quite sure exactly how it'd react, but this is just what I'd guess it'd do - let me know if I'm wrong.))

Little Sister stopped concentrating on movement and seemed a little annoyed. She wove her hair again to ask Xuxi another question.

[Wouldn't strings make this a lot easier?]

((Chadon being clever is just another word for being very, very sensitive to thoughts. He should have picked up her intentions, unless she's really bad at concetrating o.o ))
"Strings would, but where would you hold them? Isn't it inconvient to stand miles above a battle field with giant strings? "
Xuxi cocked her head at Chadon.
"Odd, he should have sensed your thoguhts easily..."

((Are you able to concentrate on something you've never done before, or ever contemplated of doing? It's not the easiest thing in the world, and Little Sister's train of thought isn't all that easy to follow. ))

"Strings would, but where would you hold them? Isn't it inconvient to stand miles above a battle field with giant strings?" Little Sister rewove her hair once again to form a reply.

[Not when you're practically made of them.]

Her hair extends out in all directions, and she waves each thread about to show that she has total control over them.

The apparation raised an eyebrow.
"That is certainly an interesting ability you have there, Little Sister."

Not the most helpful comment in the world, as it didn't really answer her question, but Little Sister thought that Xuxi's reply indicated that she wasn't letting on everything that she knew.

[Would I be able to use it with the puppets though?]

Xuxi stared blankly into space for a moment. Regaining her composure, she stode over to Little Sister, circling her. The cat stopped at her former posistion.
"Yes, I believe so. You'll need to latch one of your hairs onto every joint of the puppet. Since it isn't truely alive, it won't mind. This technique might take a little longer to perfect, however."

[That's fine.]
[I have a feeling I will find this way easier.]

Little Sister began the lengthy process of finding every joint on the puppet and latching individual strands of hair onto it. She made a mental note of where each one was, so that this wouldn't be nearly so hard the next time she tried it.

[Now what?]

"Move your hair around to see how it works. It may be a little complicated at first."
