At the peak of mind and body (about 220 for an Avalanthian)

Description:
To accurately envision Silkes, start with an ant the size of a large dog, and remove its legs and abdomen, and extend the length of its thorax.
Silkes has five vibrant yellow eyes, two on opposing sides of its black, sleek head, like a wasp or bee's compound eyes. Three smaller eyes, more circular in shape, are arranged in a vertical line on the front of his head. He has two almost prehensile attennae, which seem to be more for aesthetics and emotional display then for any sensory purpose. Its mouthparts are a simple beak,with a pair of jaws overlapping in front of the beak.
His head is fixed to his body. Unlike his chitin-covered head, his body is warm, soft and smooth. Behind the body, where the abdomen of an ant would be, are five tails, thick and tapering to a blunt point, waving in a graceful and sinewy manner. Silkes typically uses these tails either for support or to grip objects, as they are fully prehensile.
He has four robotic limbs embedded in the flesh of his body, jointed at knees so that the front legs bend fowards and the back legs bend backwards. The legs aren't the most sophisticated of devices, and visible hydraulic tubes and gears and motors can be seen (and in some cases heard) as he moves.
The manner in which he moves is a typical quadruped style, with legs alternating and such, but if he needs to cover long distances quickly, or needs to gain altitude, he uses the powerful drive of the legs to jump extremely high.

Silkes is mute, and has a tendancy to fully obey the orders of any and all deities he meets, with little or no arguement. Only those who command him to perform acts he intensely disagrees with will be ignored. He also strangely has a phobia of gods, and a sense of hopelessness destiny if he ever does meet one.
Silkes is pacifistic (except in very rare circumstances) and is usually optimistic, but carrying the fate and paranoia of his species with him wherever he goes does have a negative effect on him at times.

Weaponry:
The tips of its robotic "feet" are very sharp, but Silkes is more to likely to exploit this for digging or climbing than as a weapon.

Abilities:
Silkes can see in every aspect of the electromagnetic spectrum, and conviently also feeds on most types of electromagnetic radiation. He doesn't feed on anything weaker than microwaves (as he considers it the equivalent of trying to live off algae) and anything stronger than x-rays damages him. His body and tails are packed full of electromagnetic-radiation-absorption cells at their surfaces, and he can store this energy if for some reason he's in an area where there is a low amount of electromagnetic radiation.
Based on this it could be confusing as to why Silkes has a mouth at all. The reason is tied to his strongest ability - weaving.
An organ in Silkes' head produces a constant and consistant supply of a liquid that solidifies upon leaving the organ - a substance uncannily similiar to silk, but thicker, slightly more elastic and a lot stronger.
Silkes uses his front robotic legs and his mouthparts to weave this thread into intricate designs and tools, and if no other medium for communication exists will spin letters and place them neatly on the ground. Silkes is highly talented at this, and can spin words at the same rate most beings speak them.
Silkes is also skilled at using this thread to entangle or trap others as a form of non-violent incapacitation. However, the thread is not very sticky, so he can't weave anything similiar in purpose to a spider's web - nor would he wish to.

History:
Silkes is one of the few remaining of the once-mighty Avalanthians, a species whose existance was always tied to the conflicts of the gods, from the very moment they acheived sapience. They had been known by past civilisations at the time as the "Tools of the Gods" - as individuals served whatever major or minor deity happened to find them first.
This eventually lead to the rapid decline of the Avalanthian species, as its individuals, allied to warring powers, fought their former friends and family to the death for honour and valour that was not theirs.
Those few hundreds that survived aeons of conflict realsed how foolish their externally-controlled self-imposed genocide was, and the Avalanthians decided to refuse the orders given by high authorities to kill their own species.
This made some already irate higher powers with bruised egos even more livid, and the species was nearly completely obliterated.
And so the few tens of surviving Avalanthians search the Universe in vain, for reasons to why their once powerful species has declined to a mere shadow of its former glory. Unsurprisingly, all surviving Avalanthians are wary of gods, but they inexplicably still continue to serve the ones they meet.
For as long as the Avanlanthians have existed, not one being - mortal, immortal, spirit, god, or any other entity - has ever known WHY the Avalanthaisn serve the gods to the ends of their lives (and very nearly the species), and Silkes himself is no wiser as to why he serves gods he encounters. However, his phobia, based on his species' past, is adequately justified.

Silkes' personal history has been a fruitless search for other Avalanthians. He is a curious individual and travels to other worlds and places for sometimes trivial reasons. The most life-affecting event to have happened to him ((so far)) was the loss of his original legs. He is embarrased to talk about this event, but often refers to the whole incident as "an enlightening but grave misunderstanding".
