How about this one, Danikat - A new world, with Pernese dragons, populated by the descendants of Riders and Dagons lost between over the ages...
I've always wondered what happened to those who didn't come back, and yet were clearly intending to go somewhere... _________________

Thats actually discussed in the short story 'Beyond Between'. Its in an anthology called Legends II, and maybe some others as well.
Its interesting but a little hard to get your head around.
Which reminds me, one day I need to explain how Danikat came to be in possession of two dragons, and got them off Pern. _________________ Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to decieve ~ Sir Walter Scott

What about discovering a rare new breed of invisible dragons incapable of Impression that are hell-bent on killing their 'tamer' kin? It'd be a good premise IMO. _________________
Bah, Give me 2 days and a load of napalm...
Oh, I haven't read that one yet. Guess I'll have to put it on my very long list of books to look for at the library. _________________
