Meeting of the Minds

In a secluded part of the forest, HollowEyes had just finished piling a large group of logs in the middle of a clearing. Little Sister was holding them together for him as he applied a beetle charm to the pile, which turned the entire thing to stone. The clearing was quite large, and had several chairs and tables carved out of wood by Little Sister.

"Well, the stage is set, now all that's left is for everyone to arrive... I'm surprised that you'd think something like this up though Little Sister, it's quite unlike you to show interest in other people." ~Keh!~ Little Sister was clearly annoyed by HollowEyes' sudden curiosity, despite the fact that what he'd said was true. ~I don't need a reason to want to know things! Mind your own business brother...~ HollowEyes sighed, knowing that he wouldn't get anything out of her. "Well, let's just hope people find the signs."

((No, the location is not left out, I just couldn't think of how to word it, so it's omitted. I basically got this idea from Shaon in the Archive Discussion thread, and I thought it wasn't too bad. I only got a heap of ideas about charms after discussing them with others, and wouldn't have used them nearly so much otherwise, so I think it's good to get other people's opinions on things like this. Basically, you turn up, take the stage if you wish to make a speech or lecture or something, or simply discuss ideas amongst others - all in an RPing context of course. I wasn't 100% sure where to put this, but I'll leave it up to the mods to move it if they feel the need to.))

And, as was expected, one heck of a ragtag group came in first.

Leading the group was a slightly irritated Con Candour, conviently found to be the perch of a flock of Shath, all different types.

Nearby her was Kumo Jinrui, quite interested in how the Shath were conversing in their odd hissing language.

[Embri]

The bushes rustle slightly, and the scent of burned leaves fills the air. A long face emerges first, followed swiftly by a pearly spiral horn, and a flaming mane. Embri steps out into the clearing, eyeing the wooden furniture.

"Hello?" She calls, raising her head to scent the air for new smells. She recognizes the distinctive tang of charm magic - HollowEyes, of course. Embri thinks.

The fire unicorn has a double take when she spots the other members already assembled in the grove. The humanoid with feline features is common enough (in Psychotopia), but the pink and black (Spider? Humaniod? Creature?) surprises her quite a bit.

((Kumo's a genetic experiment, based on the Chilian Rose Hair tarantula. So Spider or Arachnid would be perfect))

"So, who gets to go first?"

Con sat on one of the logs, disturbing several Shath who happened to be curled up on her tail and waist.

Kumo sort've... leaned down a bit, taking full advantage of all seven joints in his legs.

Little Sister was pleased at the turn out so far, and eager to hear what they all had to say. Some of them had surprised her, and she didn't have a clue as to what many of them specialized in at all. ~Brother, please tell them how I plan for this meeting to run...~ HollowEyes, not really listening, stood up to address the group. "Speak whenever you feel like it, if you want to speak first, you may. Keep in mind that everyone may speak or ask questions freely, at any given time. You may take the stage if you feel it's necessary for demonstrations and such, but since there's only one, you'll have to take turns using it, or share it."

Little Sister hissed at him. ~That's the exact opposite of what I told you to say!~ HollowEyes whisped in reply to her, feeling honestly surprised that she'd taken so much interest in this. "Relax, you'll get to hear more this way. Besides, I don't feel like giving a huge speech right now, maybe later."

[Embri]

Embri nods her acknoledgment of the rules, and settles down at Red Angel's feet.

[Shaon]

Several of the Shath on Con's shoulders started tugging at her ears.

"Fine, fine. We'll go first."

She took the stage, and when she stopped moving all of the Shath left their perches.

There were eight in total, all looking completely different.

The one on the far left started hissing, irritated.

"Oh. Right."

The Explorer knelt down behind the snake, holding her armband in front of its horned snout.

The hissing suddenly became speech.

"This is working, right? I can't tell, personally. But, I will start nontheless. I am a Htrae Shath, one of the largest of the eight species. We live in underground cities beneath our world of Shathen."

The Htrae holds out its odd disconnected 'hands', which look like they are made of something extremely hard. The hands are circular, with an indent within it, and small spikes coming out of the sides.

"Our hands are unique, as are our horns. It is one of the ways to tell several Htrae apart in a group."

The Htrae retracts its 'hands', as its bladed tail swishes around slightly.

"Now, are there any questions, or shall we move on to my cousin to the right?"

[Danikat]

*Danikat pushes herself off the tree she had been leaning on at the side of the clearning and steps into the circle*

Danikat: A question, if I may. Forgive me if this sounds stupid but what exactly is a Shath? Could you give us some background on your basic bioogy, physiology, society etc. before we go on to the diffrent species?

[Embri]

Hurrr, yes, please. I understand that you are reptilian, no? But what relation do you hold with the one called Con Candour? I must admit, feline and replian make an odd combination in my mind. Pray do continue.

[Sephirothsicase]

*To the better eye, a dark robe clad figure stepped out of a shadow the rest against a tree, covered in darkness he leaned against it and listened to the group*

The Htrae cleared its throat, before beginning. This would be a long one.

"To the cat-dragon-human, we Shath are snake-like beings, as you can tell, and are quite impossible to be evolved by your standards. This is because we are not of your realm.

There are nine types of Shath, species, and we are all quite different, the only truely shared charastic is the typical posture and snake-like appearence.

I will tell you that my species, the Htrae, are quite communial, living in large underground herds.

Recently, however, the great Reyortsed united all nine of our kind, creating a sort of group monarchy, with one of each type of species at the head.

And to the flaming unicorn, we are warm-blooded, and ergo are not reptillian by your standards.
But Con, she has connections with Reyortsed, and was assigned to translate for us."

The Htrae stopped, waiting for any more questions.

My apologies, I meant no offence. I intended only to convey your appearance is reptilian. Goodness knows almost everyone here is more than they seem.

*Seph smiles revealing his fangs at this comment, he shifts his ground and rests against the tree with his arms folded*

A man who appears to be in his 20's, is jotting details down onto a notebook, stops, and looks up at the Htrae, "Excuth my interupthion, but may I athk what it ith that you eat?"

What appears to be a wooden box floats from some nearby trees and lands beside him, it's lid gently opening and closing before it settles down...
