((OOC:This is mostly an experiment, But I'll see if I can have some fun with this. If any of you new people want to use this topic to introduce your characters or test out your roleplaying, feel free. This next character is one of pure, unadulterated character development; Normally, my characters are sprung from my head like Zeus's Athena, but this time, I'm going to take a (Relatively) normal Psychotopian girl and turn her into a character over time.))

The mind of a child is made of magic, not yet tempered with the mundanity of experience. Through a child's eyes, the world is full of miracles and whimsy, and everything is a game.

Athena, a young woman with dark blue hair and intense grey eyes, approached the training dojo. In her hands she clumsily held a long staff.

"Uhm. Hello?" She asked the seemingly abandoned building. "Is anyone here?"

((OOC: For me, this is a test to see if I can actually act an experienced role rather than a newbie role or something I'm usually comfortable in xD)

The Dojo hall walls echoed as a young looking man walked out with a staff in hand yet it seemed that it was something else at the same time. It would seem this male was experienced in the art of magic and possibly even that of weapons...However that would be seen in time.

He walked over to the young girl who seemed to be new. "Hello miss...You seem to be new around here...Is there anything I can help you with?" He asked his voice suave, thick, yet that smooth sort that you just knew you could trust. "Oh, how rude of me miss. I am Darnel, it is a pleasure to see such a lovely woman in these parts"

"Hello, Darnel. I'm Athena." She said, waving. "I basically came here to train. Not for any real reason, I'm just bored and want something to do."

She looked down to the staff in his hand, and then smiled.

"So, you use the quarterstaff? Cause that's what I want to learn. I like the idea of being able to defend and attack in the same movement."

Darnel smiled at her, then he nodded. "I take many arts, not just that of the Quarterstaff, however, if that is what you wish to learn" He said as he tilted his head softly his hands ready on the staff. "Then come at me with all you have and show me where you are so I may learn to see what I must teach you"

In a sudden movement, Athena swung her quarterstaff at the man, baseball-bat-style. Expecting it to be blocked, she started to strike again.

The man swung and stopped it with his own, smirking at her. "not bad, you need a bit more power behind it though young one" he said blocking the second hit with a second block with the staff. "staffs are well known...for they are a dual purpose weapon. you can use them to not only block but attack. come young Athena"

Athena's eyebrows met in anger. "More power? You want more power?"

In a frenzied burst of attacks, she started swinging her quarterstaff.

He blocked one then two then got hit with two, blocking a few more as he ducked one. "Control your frenzy...Then you will have a sure strike. Once you control it, you will be deadly"
