With a lurch, Poly stumbles out of the glowing gateway onto the flat ground. Through the portal behind him can be seen the mundane world of RL; an empty chair stares at what appears to be a wooden desk, the far edge of a keyboard barely viable at the bottom of the portal's view. "Wait... that's my desk. And that wallpaper's from my room..." Poly muses aloud as he turns to inspect the mysterious passageway whence he was thrown. But as he reaches out to test the reaction of the gateway, its circular edge shrinks with alarming speed. Poly jerks his hand away as the portal closes in on itself with a resounding snap, the glow of its edge fading away into the still air. The surroundings of his new environment now present themselves in full view. "I've been here before... long ago." Poly's eyes widen as he stares about him, the distantly familiar features of Blackstar soaking in. Yet there is a distinct difference from his old memories of the place. The dirt ground below his feet seems to have gained an infertile red color, the air appears devoid of that vivacious rustle and energy. The whole place meets Poly as one abandoned. His eyes rake the horizon for signs of life.
There! And here! In the distance, shadowy silhouettes move, obviously humanoid. Many move in apparently meaningly paths, perhaps searching for activity the same as Poly. But others tread in confident strides. Hopeful, Poly calls out to one of the meandering shapes, a hand raised in salutation,
"Hello there!" _________________ "That's like dying, too," said Olhado.

"There are worse reasons to die," Ender answered, "than to die because you cannot bear to kill."
"What about someone," said Miro, "who can't kill, and can't die, and can't live, either?"
"Don't deceive yourself," said Ender, "You'll do all three someday."

Greetings POLYGEIST, nice to see another member returning.
Come explore another universe in The Hub in the Wilds, couriers are waiting to ferry passengers back and forth, all you have to do is make your way to the UFO crash site just outside of Dojopolis.
Attempt to find a way in to the Corrupted Cave and join the Search for HollyEyes Gold.

I'm hoping I can be relatively active here even with school starting for me next week. That and have motivation to post.
What I'd really like to do, as I mentioned in the Roll Call thread, is to start a character-test RP. I've got who I believe to be a potentially compelling character in my head who needs some personality definition and general kinks worked out. Throwing him in an RP seems to me to be a fine way to do this. Getting this RP running would definitely boost my motivation for posting here on Blackstar: I feel uncomfortable joining another's RP right now as I am so long out of practice. This character-test would serve the dual purpose of quasi-introducing my character and reintroducing myself to roleplaying.
However, I've never started my own RP and so am at a lost as to how to start it. I need suggestions for setting and an obstacle or challenge to overcome (as the maze was for The Labyrinth of the Faun). Would it be too much to ask the community of Blackstar for a little help in setting up this RP?
Post in this thread or send me a private message for suggestions regarding this. Thanks! _________________ "That's like dying, too," said Olhado.

Just coming back to say that I'm way too busy with other stuff to be active on here, in case you haven't noticed. I'd kinda like to, but I just being honest with myself. I'm not making the time to come here, and I don't see that changing. _________________ "That's like dying, too," said Olhado.
