CCSF 09 is underway!

This announcement's pretty much just for those rare few of you who like Creatures, still hang around Blackstar and don't bother browsing through Creaturetopia. I don't know if you even exist, but just in case you do, here's what I've been posting across multiple forums:

Up-To-Date status on the creatures community.

If you check out the CCSF website you'll see that I've managed to get together quite a large number of releases along with several events, and I have many more on the way. I've received close to (if not more than) 100 PMs and e-mails from various people in the CC about this year's CCSF. I'm still receiving messages from people who are telling me that they want to give me more agents, artwork, genetic breeds and all kinds of other stuff to put up on the CCSF. My biggest problem right now is that I might have too many releases to put up on the CCSF website, as I fear that some may be lost amongst the clutter that putting them all up at once would create.

In contrast to this, when I came to visit Blackstar today five new posts had been made, none of them relating to roleplaying, and most of them were made by you.

Your absolutly right 3kul, Its just that a year or so ago (Either at 07 or 08... Possibly both) The CCSF almost never happend, being pushed back and back until either the end of the current year or the beginning of the next year. Worse, Back when that dreaded JRC chat was up and I happend to be temporarily un-waitlisted for whatever reasons, I asked politely if I could help. To put it very politely, I was denied... then waitlisted again...

So naturally with the gamewear forums also dead, dead dead, I seem to have jumped to conclusions. But boy, when I clicked the link I was surprised on the amount of stuff the community submited. And as such, I changed my link.

Ah, well in that case I guess I shouldn't have been so abrasive about it, sorry DLM.

Yeah, I heard that they had a fair bit of trouble with last year's CCSF being pushed back so far than it ate into January of this year. I was absent from the CC at that time though (more interested in Blackstar I guess), so I'm not entirely sure how it all went down. Gameware's forums being closed to the public really wasn't great for the CC either, but considering that most of us had already left the GW forums due to their terrible management it wasn't a fatal (or unsurprising) blow to be dealt.

This year though many of us were eager to spearhead the CCSF and made decisions as early as we could. Thanks to polls that were held across several popular CC forums (or rather, any who showed interest ) we knew months ahead of schedule that we'd be holding it from the 1st until the 14th of November and that the theme would be time. I think I volunteered to organize towards sometime during September, which was around the same time that we began letting people promise releases (with a large and colourful schedule to show everybody who was doing what), and during October we got the site up and running.

Basically, there was a hell of a lot of planning behind this year's CCSF, which I think is what's made it so successful. I could try and put it all down to me as organizer, but really, there were at least 3 or 4 other people who I'm quite sure would have stepped up to the plate if I hadn't, and they all would have done just as good a job (if not better) than what I've done imo.

In any case, my biggest satisfaction comes from reactions like yours DLM. A well-orchestrated CCSF can show people that the Creatures Community isn't as dead as they might think that it is, and hopefully encourage fans old and new to consider being a little more active
