After finally reaching the height he was after, close enough to reach the hard fruit while still perching clumsily onto the trunk Endorphine reached up and plucked a coconut off with one of his many tendrils. The Krkrln was surprised to find that the fruit he'd just taken was replaced almost immediately with another. Then the island rumbled, almost making him lose his grip-it probably would have if he hadn't uncovered his thorns, large and small and skewered the bark of the tree. After that ordeal the plant creature dropped the coconut and went for more, soon building up a small pile. Then there was the problem of getting down, which turned out to be more difficult than he'd thought. The Krkrln climbed down both a little faster and a bit more clumsily than going up. Once back on the ground, the Krkrln took hold of a couple coconuts and made his way over to the chest rather than to the water hole.
Once there, Endorphine put a coconut inside the chest then purposefully shut it. He waited for a few seconds, then opened the lid

(( Waaah! Sorry! Had to go to a wedding that I completely forgot down in Cornwall! DX ))

The Pirate/Paladin seemed to sigh as the ground began to shake a little more. Apparantly sufficient coconuts had been dropped into the pool - as soon as the shaking stopped, there was a large belch that seemed to fill the silence of the island and a small key was flinged into the air from the hole in the water. It landed next to the chest. Upon inspection, the key looked as if it would fit the unlocked chest.

As the Captain observed thefunny squid-thing opening the chest, it would find that there was nothing inside except the coconut. The chest held several lines inside as if they were markers of height, or something of the sort.

The Krkrln felt a bit disappointed, even if it didn't show up in his inscrutable green face. The plant alien noted the increased rumbling-anyone could hardly not notice it-and then the sentient plant saw a piece of metal fall from the sky and land next to him. Endorphine blinked both his large black, insect like eyes and curled a tendril around the thing. It might have had something to do with the hole in the chest, but he couldn't figure out how it fit
