The Beowulf to her tribe's Grendel

Little Sister tore the Fox charm off and shredded it up, allowing her to regain control of all of her hair once more. She weaved and sharpened four long claws, then swiped at each of the four Fiends closing in on her.

HollowEyes noticed how Mough's attitude had suddenly changed. She was much more serious now, which was a little worrying, considering that she seemed to want them dead. HollowEyes flicked a Demonic Squid charm near Little Sister, and a thick, black smog began to pour out of it.

[Shaon]

The other fiends were somewhat smarter than the first one, who was taken by surprise, as Little Sister's claws hit their armor with a muffled noise.

Mough suddenly saw something out of the corner of her eye. Something white shooting out of a now extremely conspicious bush. Leaving her fiends to their own accord, she began to make her way to where she believed the bush to be, using the enroaching smog to hide.

Little Sister shot upwards above the smog, growing her hair directly downwards to get over the Pangolin Fiends. The diversionary tactic had kept them just far away enough so that she was out of their arm's reach, or so she hoped.

HollowEyes quickly darted away from the bush, running around the smog cloud to the opposite side. As he did, he stuck a few Vine Charms on the ground next to the bush, to either trap Mough or confuse her greatly.

[Shaon]

Mough was indeed quite confused, though she quite easily cut through the vines with a simple headbutt. How did this... this monster have power from so many spirits? And why charms? Nonetheless, she continued looking for her target.

"Why run!? Why do you have to hide? You are the great Byule, the one who singlehandedly brought down the Leech clan! Why are you so afraid of a single person your age, when you killed hundreds, even thousands, as a mere child!?" she yelled, trying to encourage her target.


The pangolins made use of their scales, their sharp edges easily cutting through Little Sister's hair. The large one beat awkwardly through the hair with the useless claws, attempting to make her fall back down so the group can ensnare her.

The stalk of hair Little Sister had grown was quite long, and when cut down, she fell outside of the smog. She scuttled off a little way, not really seeing how the fight involved her anymore.

HollowEyes shuddered a little. He despised his Parasitian name. The Byule of Parasitian mythology was a soul devouring monster driven insane by hunger, something which he hated being associated with.

He was straining himself a little to remain calm. It was obvious that she was taunting him, as she seemed to be taking a huge exaggeration as fact. 'Stick to the teachings...' he thought to himself. 'Watch, learn, eat.' He usually skipped that last bit though.

He knew that the Pangolin Fiends would be troublesome if they got out of that smog, so he quickly stuck a couple of Fox charms to his arms and darted in to the middle of it. In the darkness, he couldn't see them, but he could 'feel' them with his Third Eye. As he ran through, he slashed at one of them and kept going. With any luck, they'd end up killing each other by accident.

He burst out of the other side of the smog, launching himself at Mough. He stopped himself inches from slicing across her face, straightened himself up and looked her in the eyes. "Did you wish to speak with me?"

[Shaon]

Mough was unimpressed.

"Ah, I haven't seen you properly since I was a mere child. You haven't changed much."

She smiled, the only teeth in her mouth being from her tongue.

"Then again, you can't exactly, can you? Anyway, direct to the point.

Here we are. Mono e mono. A fight to the death, you see?

With a twist.

You see that little smog you created? Liyao's in there. I win, she eats you. I lose, she gets killed by my little assistants.

No charms, no scales. Nothing up my sleeve. Break a few rules, and your twin is gone.

Got it?"

Mough manuvered herself, so the smog was behind her. If HollowEyes was going to make a break for it, he'd have to go through her.


The pangolins looked around, grunting at eachother before splitting up to find their hostage.

"Those are some pretty stupid prizes there, slaoya." HollowEyes said bluntly, having no idea who this person was. "Why should I bother fighting you at all? Little Sister's already escaped, and if she can't eat me by her own power, then I don't see why she should."

He felt differently about it, but he knew that he was talking to another Parasitian here, and this was the only kind of attitude in regards to this matter that she'd understand.

((Slaoya is a Parasitian insult for a stubborn, boneheaded or arrogant person. It's pretty rude, the sort of thing that would make older Parasitians shake their heads in disapproval.))

[Shaon]

"Refanva, if you surrendered, then I would set you free."

Grinning like a maniac, Mough stepped aside.

((Refanva is a Parasitian insult for a fool, simple enough. Same level as Slaoya in rudeness.))

"Aright, I surrender." HollowEyes quickly replied, not feeling like fighting this raving lunatic at all. He began to wander off in the opposite direction of Mough, figuring that he'd just gotten the easy way out. "It was nice to meet you, you should look us up if you're ever in the Black Forest. Send Little Sister to eat me whenever you feel like."

Little Sister did not hear this particular conversation, as she was busy hiding in some tall grass, trying to avoid the Pangolin Fiends.

[Shaon]

The medium size pangolin wandered out of the smog. Spotting a speck of white, he wandered straight into a strand of tall grass.

Mough, still smiling, pulled a large scale from her back, and threw it expertly at Holloweye's head/neck area.

A long spear of Little Sister's hair was waiting for the Pangolin, and she thrust it at him as he entered the tall grass.

HollowEyes sensed Mough's intent to harm him with his third eye and sighed - it seemed like his time in the Dojo had been more troublesome than it had in the outside world. He lazily raised an arm blade up to deflect the scale and...

It stuck fast. HollowEyes was surprised, as his arm blades were quite sturdy and very sharp, yet the scale had managed to penetrate it. "Oh, nice shot," he commented, still not all that interested in fighting her.

The kid had quite a bit of talent, but that was no doubt because of an unpopular spirit spoiling the one who was most likely it's only disciple. "But you know, I can't really leave or surrender if you go throwing things at me like that."

He left the scale embedded in his arm blade for now, waiting to see what Mough might have to say.

[Shaon]

The hair hit the pangolin, cutting him in the back leg. Confident, the fiend yelled something in Fiendese, hitting the ground with its tail a few times.


"Naive."

Mough pulled a few others out of her back, one crumbling from the Beetle charm. She threw the others in the same area as the first.

~Crazy little freak...~ Little Sister thought as she quickly backed up. It was probably better to run from an enemy she didn't know anything about if she couldn't eat it, as there was no benefit in fighting it.

"Damn slaoya..." HollowEyes muttered as he leaned back to dodge the scales - now that he was facing her, it wasn't too hard to avoid getting stabbed in the head. Or at least, that's what he'd thought until a scale lodged itself in his horn. She was faster than he'd thought...

He stuck a Demonic Squid charm on his head to counter her this time, spitting several shots of a sticky black ink towards Mough, aiming to hit her in the face.

[Shaon]

There were other low calls in Fiendese, before the largest of the pangolins sneaked up behind Little Sister, attempting to wrap its sticky tongue around her, this time not making its master's mistake of leaving a few hairs unattended.

Mough ducked again, but not as fast.

She stood back up, her headscales dripping with ink, absentmindedly fiddling with her right wing.

Some of the ink got inside her earslit, muting her hearing.

Nonetheless, she continued using her scales as shuriken.
