Who here names their computers and such? Because my family and I do. Normally we name our computers after mythology, such as Thor or Loki.

I recently named my new laptop. It's name is Kythera. (Based off of the Antikythera Mechanism. Fun, eh?)

PC (at home): Tachyon (it's a reoccuring name for EVERYTHING I have/make)

Wii: Infinity (probably for fanboyish reasons, but that didn't stop it being taken apart when I went to uni, so it could be stored at home)

MacBook: Makkenbooken (based on a conversation involving the most pseudoriffic pseudo-German that could ever exist)

iPod: CirrPod (i was bored at the time and syncing it so i thought why not rename it)

That's all the names I can remember for now.

Speaking of the Antikythera mechanism, that was the working title for the one decent Flash game I've ever made. Very Happy

Good choice of name.

PCs: GTILD (deceased), The Compy (deceased), The Lappy/Craptop (deceased), Zombie GTILD, Liebkind

MP3 Player: Taiker (As in Kaye Taiker, as in The Caretaker >_>)

Tablet: Geijutsu (deceased)

Instruments: Sweeney (xylophone), Lovett (incredibly broken xylophone), Danke jr (glockenspiel), Danke (my personal glockenspiel), Old Man Denke (school's glockenspiel), Cullen (suspended cymbal), Jeffery Dahmer (sleigh bells) (guess the naming pattern :>)

Stands (for music): Ryker (missing one of its legs), Ryker jr (missing the whole stand bit), both of which are named after this ass who was in band first trimester and didn't actually do anything.

Gamecube: Kira

My DS needs a name, oh wow.

Old laptop: Thinkpad (because it's an IBM Thinkpad)
Non-functional Macbook: Useless piece of junk (because it is)

... Okay, I guess those don't count. I don't really name my things, unless it's just something that's somewhat funny - my external hard drive is called 'King Rat' for example (though I can't really explain why that's funny, as it's a long-running in-joke between myself and my siblings Razz

).

One of my computers has been named 'Packard', because it's a Packard Bell.

The dead computer was called 'Dava'. I think the logic behind it was 'It's a desktop, it's made by Acer, it runs Vista and this label thing says "Aspire". Dava! That's an awesome name.'

The one I'm typing this up with now? Laced. I can't remember what I assembled to get that name though.

My computer is called Phoenix - a character in a story I've been trying to write for a millenia and the name of my childhood dog. Using the word 'childhood' makes me sound old now. I suppose it was around 6/7 years ago so the word fits Razz

My PS3 is called PS3 and my Xbox 360 is called... actually I have no idea what that is called Surprised

I never got to name it.

My comp is named "The Ultimate Weapon" because I was just so incredibly 1337 back when I first got it. The 1337ness didn't stop there. My LAN is called Hackzone.

Of all my wonderful technology, only my iPod shuffle has a name - Zerspalten (which means "Cleave").

I don't tend to name things that are better off without names, really.

I have a dying CD player named Coby (Which seems to make horrible EVERYTHING, Ash uses a Coby headset, which is also terrible), My MP3 player is Centon (Guess why.), and now my family's computers?

It used to be names like GLaDOS, Xerxes, and Joshua, buuut whatever. I don't really have any electronics to name. The only other thing I've got is an alarm clock and headphones. I did name our smoke alarm though, Beeper. Oh-so very creative and original. [EXTREME sarcasm]You guys can all learn quite a bit from me. [/EXTREME sarcasm]

My Wii is called Cake Death (I was going through a bit of an Eddie Izzard phase at the time).

Other than that I don't tend to name electronics. I talk to them but I rarely name inanimate objects unless they look like people or animals. And then it tends to be horrendously uncreative names (a toy lion called Leo is about the height of my creativity).
