Kenzi and Syllak Draco

Kenzie screeched when Syllak's tail tore the delicate skin off from around her ankle.

"You'll pay for that, slug!" She said through clenched teeth. "Just remember one thing; I control not only fire, but all forms of heat."

The embodiment started multi-tasking, focusing and flying away on her pheonix wings. Frost started covering the edges of the arena, from the cactus towards the newly made magma pool.

By compressing all the heat from the arena into one small sphere, what would be left would be a vacuum of heat- cold. Syllak would be one freezing draconian.

Syllak hadn't noticed at the time for all the aerial combat, and the rush to keep up with her suddenly mobile opponent, but she was slowly getting colder. The draconians ancestry meant that her blood was just as cold as the dragons on Krynns, that meant she would lose all her mobility and eventually go into hibernation. What had happened to all the warmth? 'All forms of heat' she heard repeated in the memory of her mind. All of them. That meant... she was the cause of the cold! Syllak had to stop this.

The draconian lashed out again a second time, this time with an outstretched fist and putting considerable force into the blow. She wasn't about to go out now, she hoped. It'd just prove to her own mind that she'd been far too far out of practice to start something like this.

Kenzie was flying away when she felt a blow on her back. She fell to the ground. It hurt. And then it didn't. "What- My legs!" She was paralyzed from the waist down. It was fortunate that she still had her arms and wings functional.

"Now I just need to keep away from you, snake. And then I've won this." She boosted herself off of the ground with her hands, and then she traveled towards the slowly solidizing magma pool. If she got into it, then she would be able to stay there, eventually freezing the entire arena.
"Catch me if you can!"

"Oh no you don't" Syllak snarled, concentrating all the power she could into flapping her silver scaled wings as hard as she could in order to get to the half paralyzed Kenzi. The draconian had stopped briefly, thinking (and hoping) that Kenzi wouldn't get up so she wouldn't have to attack someone severely injured like that. But it looked like she had no such luck, and Kenzi seemed to believe she was still capable of fighting.

Syllaks flight speed was actually quite good, especially without her usual armour although her movements were starting to be hindered by the heat loss , so once she got close enough to the other opponent Syllak extended both clawed hands out. The sivak intended to do exactly as Kenzi had challenged-she intended to catch her and keep her away from her target by throwing her in the opposite direction.

((You probably already guessed this from the kind of character Syllak is, but she won't hurt Kenzi with her claws unless she has to or it's an accident Wink

Kenzi was in no condition to outfly Syllak. She was grabbed by her skinned ankles and thrown in the opposite direction.

When Kenzi was draining the heat, it had to go somewhere; She put the heat inside her own body. Right now, there was easily enough heat to reduce bones to ashes. She got an idea then, and twisted around to hang onto Syllak's torso. Once hanging on, she would release the heat directly into Syllak's wings and head.

Syllak almost thought she'd at least stopped Kenzi's plan-whatever it was-temporarily, but then she felt something grab onto her torso. Kenzi was still holding the kinetic energy Syllak had used to try to throw her, so their combined weight tugged the already slowing draconian off course and a few scales got tugged off her skin as well, allowing draconian blood to ooze up around Kenzis fingers.

"By the vanished gods, what do you think you're doing?!" Syllak cried out as she lost control, if she hadn't been in a fight she probably would have been surprised she'd just used the once favourite expression of her parents. If the humanoid didn't see the danger of them both plummeting into the ground at unhealthy angles and let go, the draconian might be forced to... bite her, perhaps the most dishonourable thing Syllak could think of doing.

Kenzi had absorbed heat from the arena to make it colder. She had to store that heat somewhere. That somewhere was inside her skull.
"By the vanished gods, what do you think you're doing?!"
"What am I doing?" Kenzi asked, a wicked grin on her face. "I'm breathing fire."

Kenzi opened her mouth and focused the small sphere of fire into a large cone shape, directing it at Syllak's wings. Simultaneously, she pushed away from the draconian and called her Phoenix wings to life.

"Arrrrggghhh" Syllak screamed as a large cone of fire hit her wings, causing the silver scales on them to blacken and peel in the intense heat. The draconians body, caught between cold and flame, did not know how to react. Syllak felt Kenzi push away, but her own body was in need of serious consideration now. Her wings, although not entirely useless in this state, were making it extremely difficult to fly. Not just that but the strange mixture of heat and cold meant that most of her felt sluggish to move, except the painful wings.

The draconian plummeted to the ground, once again hitting it with all fours and sending up plumes of dust after the impact. Clearly, Syllak needed more training before she'd be back at her peak.

((How about we call this off now? I think Syllaks been warmed up enough so to speak, and I can see this turning into a chase ^_^. But it was interesting fighting you))

Kenzi came to a halt. She was floating a few inches off of the ground, due to the lower half of her body being paralyzed. She looked towards the draconian, and saw her on all fours. She took this as a defeat and started talking.

"That was a pretty nice brawl." She said, grinning. "You hereby have my respect, Slack."

She was floating there for a few seconds, then-

"Did I say that wrong?"

Syllak breathed in slowly, trying to get her body back into general all over rhythm whilst crouched on all fours, the dents in the sand where her hand and feet were resting making it clear just how hard she'd hit the ground. The draconian slowly got up, the air whipping strands of her torn clothing about and draconian blood slowly dripping onto the ground.

She had been going to say 'You're not so bad yourself' but Kenzi interrupted by asking her if she'd said her name wrong, and the sivak burst out laughing.

"Slack?" she said after getting herself back together, looking over at Kenzi with her red eyes "You're right that you're wrong. It's Syl-lak, not 'slack'. And you're not too bad yourself... but I think I need more training. This is my first serious fight for a long, long time"
