Kenzi and Syllak Draco

A creature entered the Arena, the creatures claws clicking on the paved ground until they reached the Arena proper, where their sounds were cushioned by soft sand. This creature was just under six feet tall, bipedal and possessed both a long tail as well as a pair of large, draconic wings. Silver scales that were not covered by the black top and trousers the draconian was wearing glittered in the sunlight. Without her customary platemail armour, the draconians head was clear for anyone to see. It was the head of a small dragon, with the bright red eyes of those same reptiles beneath her silver scaled ridges that served as eyebrows.

Those same bright red eyes scanned the scenery in front of her, only half of the Arena appeared to be desert. The other half had an oasis, with the multitudes of thick trees, animal and plant life that congregated around it. Syllak then turned around, waiting for her opponent to enter. Her twin katanas were missing as well, Syllak had found that her opponent wore neither so she, in true honourable fashion, didn't as well.

Kenzi entered the arena from the other side as Syllak. She had bright red hair, pale skin, and deep golden eyes. She wore a red robe with small vermilion fire symbols sewn in.

She noticed Syllak immediately. "Are you supposed to be my opponent?" She said in a rude tone. "A giant salamander?!" She thought about it, and shrugged.

"Let's dance." Large yellow-and-red wings burst from her back, the air wavering slightly from the heat.

Syllak turned around once again, Kenzi had entered from the other side, her red eyes narrowed slightly at her rude tone and remarks but she still remained true to herself. No longer wallowing in self-pity, Syllak remembered what was important to her. So instead of being rude back, Syllak bowed to Kenzi with a flourish.

"I am no salamander, Miss" she said, her voice deep yet still feminine "I am a sivak draconian" She doubted that the woman knew what that was, draconian history was only known to her through her parents. They had told her her kind was born of corrupted metallic dragon eggs, the good dragons children had been stolen and then made into draconians by Takhisis, the goddess of evil on that plane.

The draconian flexed both her silver wings and clawed hands, it looked they'd be on fairly equal terms in this fight. Just how Syllak liked it "Let us 'dance'" the sivak replied, taking the comment as a cue that she should start this "as you put it"

The sivak launched herself off to a running start, clawed feet causing a dust storm behind her as powerful leg muscles pumped her towards Kenzi. Her scaled head was lowered, her arms pumped in unison with her legs, she aiming only to shoulder block the human in front of her.

Kenzi was patient, not visibly reacting until Syllak was just close enough. With a flap of her phoenix wings, Kenzi leaped to the side, launching a barrage of fire where she was a few seconds ago, as well as where her opponent is right now.

Syllak had been expecting as much, although the patience Kenzi showed gave her a level of respect that the sivak had lost when her opponent had opened her mouth just a few minutes ago. There aren't many people who can face a charging draconian that calmly and let them get that close without flinching or having second thoughts.

Syllak herself was having second thoughts as she charged through where Kenzi was, promptly being hit with a large amount of flame, which caused her clothing to catch fire. The smell of heated silver and feel of that same heat hitting her scales would have been bearable if it wasn't for that. The draconian flapped her wings violently, causing her both take off into the sky and the wind caused to put the flames of the clothing out, all whilst she violently shredded it off. For the moment, she was too preoccupied with not allowing herself to go down in a flaming pile of her own clothing to notice what Kenzi was doing.

Kenzi took a deep breath so that she could store a large amount of flammable air (The amount of air she stored was well beyond the point where a normal human's lungs would burst), and then decided to do some melee damage. She charged up, lifted herself into the air with her wings, and agilely planted one foot on Syllak's knee. She boosted off, using her other foot to try and kick her in the chin. After that manuvuer, Kenzi planned to to get away before Syllak could retaliate.

Syllaks clothes looked like nothing more than strips of rags around her legs by now, and the tops had been completely torn off, letting the draconians chest scales gleam as though thankful to be out from under the material.

The draconian felt a slight pressure on her knee, as though someone were gently pressing down on it. 'What the-' Syllak thought as she turned her head to see what was going on in front of her, having twisted it this way and that whilst ripping off the clothes meaning she had not been facing forward at the time. She soon regretted it as a foot made contact with the underside of her snout, her chin, and pain shot through it.

Syllak would have reached out and grabbed her attacker mid move if not for one thing, squeezing someone in a bear hug was not an honourable thing to do. So the draconian instead closed her fist tight so that the claws would not harm Kenzi, and lashed out with them instead.

Kenzi was on her way flying away from Syllak when a heavy punch came from Syllak into her ankle, quite possible breaking it. She landed onto the ground, kneeling, and then looked up.

"Not bad. You're pretty fast." She said up to Syllak. "Let's see just how fast you are." She slammed the ground lightly, and then magma started raising from the ground. The heat did nothing to Kenzi. It was like water to her.

Syllak might have been fairly fast for the largest species of draconian, but it seemed she wasn't fast enough to have moved anywhere when Kenzi gave her speech. At the last word, Syllak took off from the area she had been in in the air, letting the magma take her place and instead angling downwards towards her dishonourable opponent. The rock reflected off her silver scales and the heat would have caused her to sweat, had she any sweat glands.

"Not bad" Syllak called as she dived, a snarl on her face revealing sharp fangs "for a salamander huh?"

[Zerrer]

The magma was still rising quickly and was at about knee level for Kenzi. She watched Syllak dive towards her.

"Goodbye." She said. Her wings vanished and she threw herself into the magma, vanishing from sight.

Syllak hit the sandy ground on all fours hard, both her bulk and momentum kicking up a large cloud of the grains all around the silver creature. Syllaks snarl turned into an abrupt coughing fit as she inhaled some of the dust, whilst resuming her bipedal position and eyeing the magma as best she could through the cloud.

'Hmph' Syllak thought as she began to walk away from the molten rock pool 'two can play at that game',much as the sivak didn't like it. Syllak braced powerful legs and readied her wings before jumping back into the air, the downdrafts causing the dust cloud to billow down and outwards.

Kenzi was under the magma as it started to solidify from Syllak's downdrafts. She waited a few seconds, and then burst straight up towards the draconian, completely flaming and closely resembling a fireball.

Syllak was on her way away from the magma when Kenzi burst of it beneath her, aiming straight for the draconian. A glint of movement out of the corner of her red eyes, that had been looking towards their destination, brought the creature into instinctive action. Syllak rolled onto her side in the air, only just managing to present a slightly smaller target. The brunt of the hit missed her but the flaming human still managed to crash into her left side, causing the scent of hot silver along with oozing, burning sivak blood that had crept out from indented scales into the air.

Syllak grunted with the pain of it all, but she still had wits enough about her to attempt to right herself by using both their momentums to complete her roll over, simultaneously lashing out with her tail in an almost desperate manouvre. Reaching her destination seemed her only option now. It would equal the fight, rather than this mockery of combat.
