Also, fresh after listening to another half-baked radio play, I'd totally go for this if Para sounded anything close to like me.

I'm still short on recording devices... if someone can clean up the terrible quality pda recordings, I'll jump right in.It picks up a little enviromental, but I can avoid that in various ways.

I can see so much potential for this, and so much potential on how it could go wrong.

This is a radio play script.

This, for the love of god, is not a radio play script.

You cannot go and say 'hey, guys, let's roleplay up a script! There's no way this could go wrong!'. Radio play scripts are 99% dialogue. Roleplays are, at best, 30% dialogue. If you then go 'huh, then what are we going to do, miss smarty pants?', then use what the cast of Fobbies are Borange used: Google Docs.

That said, I want to join the writing staff.

... ever listen to DarkerProjects AWESOME audio dramas? Especially the Byron Chronicles? Or the Leviathan Chronicles? (Of which the majority is description via the narrator)

Definitely not anywhere near 99% dialogue, yet, somehow they still manage to pull off AWESOME audio dramas.

That's besides the point anyway, since the script as DP said is going to be written after the RP. Which is going to make it a hell of a lot easier for those writing the script afterwards to get to grips with characters that aren't theirs.

I think DP's got the right idea here.

I admit it'll take a lot of re-writing but I don't see any reason it can't be done.

Look at Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy. That started life as a radio play and was successfully turned into a book, which like an RP requires a lot more description and a lot less talk than a radio play. (Admittedly the script wasn't exactly the same but whole scenes occured exactly the same way in both, and in all the other formats.)

Also just a thought but would it be totally out of the question to ask other people to voice our characters?
A lot of people have complained about not having the right voice or accent for their character, and in some cases we've got female players with male characters and visa versa. For that reason I'm already considering asking someone else to voice one or more of my characters. Maybe we could introduce a sort of 'voice swap' system, especially where accents are concerned.

Ok, so, not an amazing entrance - but - Swix peaked up my ears and I came a running. This sounds like an amazing idea :p

There, I said it. It's gonna be hard to do I think. But, I have brought one idea with me, unless its already been suggested. The written up roleplay should be made episodic I think. Just an idea. Because then whatever roleplay we do, even if it does trail of - you could rope in new people and just have it go randomly of in another direction if absolutely necessary.
