Angel bristles indignantly at the invisible creatures manner of address, seeing it as a personal affront. However, both she and Zed remain silent. Embri's private thoughts are not entirely private and Angel gives her a little nuzzle for her troubles.

To the west, then... *Zed mumbles to himself, assuming the others have come to the same conclusion.* We should make haste...

*He glances briefly at Embri, blushing again and feeling like he's intruding,*

If... Lord of the Dark forbid, If it is not Au'Mauri that is clinging to that anchor then... need I say more?

Ensichrys twisted up the corner of his beak in a pleasant smile. Maryse was always so amicable. Granted she had little choice, but all the same-

The thought broke off as Mortracta nudged him back into reality-land. The lonely flower was becoming edgy. It seemed that she too had much to lose.

Ensichrys nodded and followed the note's instructions. The elevator ride- due to sheer enormity of biomass within- was like being dragged to the depths of some dark ocean by the constricting tentacles of an octopus, but they made it despite the tight fit. Ensichrys looked up 'Tertiary Sewage Treatment Station, Beta Backup' on the control board, just as Maryse had told him.

Soon, the three cloth-cut misfits reached the door. Ensichrys turned to the others. "Quod: scio est tempus dificilus, quod fui cautus." The plant and serpent nodded in agreement.

Ensichrys opened the door and strode powerfully in, with the other two fighters for existence followed in his wake. They must have made a terrible and frightening sight. Then again, Ensichrys was willing to bet that these were no normal scientists. He spoke to anyone.

"I'm here for plan Aleph. I've been told a 'Project Manager Wallace' could use my extra-planar knowledge. These two creatures are with me, if you need their help, you may ask it."

"Young one?" the mare snorts, shaking her head while feathered wings folded back into their resting position. "I have not been called a young one in a long, long time, whomever thou art. Still, one does not question aid in a time of great need, no matter what quarter it rises from."

Still somewhat unsettled to be talking verbally with invisible creatures, Embri pawed the dusty ground with a foreleg. "And by what name should we address thee?"

I would also like to know what you are, though that hardly seems to be a polite thing to ask under the circumstances... she thought privately.

"We did not wish to upset you but you must understand," The voices took on a thoughful tone, "we have existed since the moment Life first came into the multiverse and we have seen a great many beings come and go in that time. Compared to Life itself even the great dragons are young, their time in the world only brief."

They paused, there may have been a flicker in the air, those watching carefully may have seen the invisible unicorns look at each other.

"As for what to call us we have many names." One said.
"The Trinity." Another continued.
"The Changers." The third chimed in.
"But for ourselves we prefere to be known as The Olvari" the three spoke together again.

"I am afraid," said the Owl, "that these sketches are crude at best, Arian."

He unrolled a photocopy from among his things, and showed a medieval manuscript to the silver armadillo. It was a lovingly rendered ink sketch of an eager foal prancing about in a neatly maintained garden. The fact that the artist suffered palsy was evident, the lines were irregular as though the pressure put down by the pen has been uneven while the illustrator worked his wonders.

But such devotion to detail! Three neat hedgerows encircled the foal, lined with gracefully spaced flowers with blooms like a daffodil and a tulip. In the background a monument stood, a trinity of three stone rectangles resting atop a circle larger stone circle as though they were a three dimensional demonstration of an exercise in circumscribing.

"This is the best picture I have. My mad heretic was a historian and not a cartographer, I fear."

The armadillo shuffled closer, intent on the sketches in front of him. He stood still, eyes flickering over every detail for several minutes before beginning to speak slowly. "You may be in luck Owl......You're right that the picture itself is not well drawn but the inclusion of so many distinctive landmarks may counter that fact." He paused for a moment, thinking the situation through.

"I doubt my mistress would be willing to risk her dragons on such a chance, the cost is too great. Even the fire-lizard, Lopp would be too much of a risk. However, there are always those willing to take a risk and I think I know just the person." He closed his eyes in concentration for a moment.

"If you'll forgive the intrusion....."
There was a knock at the door.
"That will be Blaen, a....well I suppose explorer would be the best word for what he does. He'll be able to tell us wether Danikat will be able to get to this place or not."

~Mhrrree... Changers Olvari, trinity three, whatever aid you can offer us is welcome.~ With a shake of her head, the unisus looked to the west.

As she watched, another building crumpled with the screech of tearing metal and the deep rumble of collapse. "Haste indeed. Westward, we shall go." Turning to Blackfoot, she asked, "I don't suppose there's a functional Warp Portal past the Black Forest, is there? If not... I suppose we can use the Evil Council's terminus. I don't particularly feel it a wise idea to Warp to an unknown destination, seeing how much of Blackstar is currently ... well, non-existent."

Hesitating for a moment, the mare mind-spoke to Zed. ~If it t'was not Au'Marui, it matters not what we do here and now. We are lost. Thus, we must proceed under the assumption, however tenuous, that it was our patron God who came back along the anchor.~

*He shudders violently and his wings droop into the dust. A bleak feeling, as if there isn't anything they can do, settles over him and seems to press down on his narrow shoulders. He has a strong hatred of the preordained, however, and a small spark begins to flicker. Angel gives a brief smirk, feeling it before he does.

She, slightly reluctantly, pulls away from her Sister and goes to him. She dislikes dusty wings and tells him so. He immediately stands up straight, as if realising how pathetic he's being. He shakes his wing-tips violently and the dust comes off in little clouds. A wry grin between him and Angel and he straightens his wings up, letting the feathers fall back again.

Breakdown safely averted, they return to the crisis at hand.*

Though I don't doubt you've noticed, there is not air in these 'holes', nor is there any energy or force of any kind i have seen before. If you stray in, you are powerless which is, *she glances at Embri* to some, fatal.

However, they do have a pull of some sort that seems to react in... pshycotopian ways, it dislikes having rules. We flew past one, glad that air did not rush in to fill the space ( the wind would be... well..) and it began to. we where, fortunately far enough away by then.

~~~In the Owl’s office
“I think I know just the person
There was a pause, thirty seconds, sixty.
“You trust a mad chronicler’s pen more than I? Dear mammal, you show a kind of faith in the works of men that I could never summon, not with all my heart.”
I hold faith for Deus alone.
Ninety seconds now, now six-score.
An LED on the Owl’s desk illuiminated britefly.
"If you'll forgive the intrusion....." Arian said.
So they CAN do it, then. Otherwise why send in a special guest?
"That will be Blaen, a....well I suppose explorer would be the best word for what he does. He'll be able to tell us wether Danikat will be able to get to this place or not."
“Enter.” The bird announced, clearly and forcefully. The door’s silent mechanism unwound, the door swung wide, and the explorer - mad, bad, and dangerous to know – sauntered in.
~~~~Outside the Owl’s office

“Hun, it ain’t much simpler than that.” Maryse wasn’t one for pointless delays, not when the world is on the line. “ Follow the instructions and you’ll be in the ministry. Simple.”

Lilic complained about the cleanliness of the cars. Maryse sighed with frustration, if common sense and the most advanced cognitive neuroscience in the world hadn’t told her otherwise, she’d have given the cat-girl a right tongue-lashing. Instead, she summoned a polite explanation to her lips.

“The car’s semi-germ free because some jackass always sneaks on some whole-wheat bread! And there are signs specifically saying no outside food or drink! Those big tycoons, they hate it when people don’t buy their concessions! It’s annoying, but that’s market capitalism for you. Now skedaddle, girly – the world’s ending for each second of my time you waste!”

She waited for Lilic to leave, then turned to Ensychris. The bird-warrior smiled charmingly at her. You scaly charmer -I’m a married woman! Still…. A girl likes a man with taste, even if he isn`t human. With a strange jerk, one of Ensychris’ companions (a rather vicious-looking flower) goaded the three along and they were gone.

Maryse turned her attention back to her computer screen. She minimized her email client for a moment and glanced over a document entitled “technical manual.” She looked into a makeup mirror sitting on her desk, cocked her head to one side, and smiled as her epidermal pigmentation bilayer smoothly gave her a face that would have taken supermodels hours to apply.

“Hot damn! You look fine!” Her reflection appreciated the compliment.
I’ll getting the hang of this thing yet!

~~~In Tertiary Sewage Treatment Station, Beta Backup
The majority of the researchers appeared to ignore the arrivals - even Ensichrys’ band probably couldn’t tell whether some of these species were giving them attention, being with morphologies unrecognizably non-hominids. A creature resembling an bundle of oversized maggots tied together with partially chewed celery craned a sickly-looking appendage the trio’s way. An opening in the end pulsed out a grave chortle, which a dull plastic loop encircling the appendage translated in a cool, sterile voice.
“Greetings. Your arrival was expected. The machine-secretary was informative. Scanners observe you. Security is tight. You could have been processed in detention. You were not. The lead coordinator is occupied. He will soon be not. Head to induction annex. Pleasantries be.”
The induction annex was a clearly labelled flat octagon on the floor. An elevator lowered from an unseen height, carrying a mid-aged man in a business-casual sweater. Looking over a document on a hand-held computer, his bearded face and greying hair gave him an air of intelligence marked with distain. He was an Alec Guinness, engineering machines in the company of larvae, and looked none of the worse for wear. He looked up at the arrivals, which the maggot-bundle swiftly abandoned. His face was unreadable for a moment as his elevator stopped, then he smiled warmly.
“Welcome! Welcome to laboratory seventeen! You’ve no doubt been chosen by the plan leader for this project. We have a few anomalous items some of my researchers cannot work with, and your experiences would better our cause immensely. Time is of the essence and you should be spent in sector C. Please, come this way.”
~~~ Outside Kazumaru’s cave

The trio on the ATV arrived with the furor and tempest of a farting bear. The vehicle snarled as it kicked up the dirt; the driver expertly wheeled it into a stationary position. The three watched with a mixture of fascinated awe and cynical bemsusement. The spirit of electricity did not look very pleased.

Nor did the team leader.

“As we used to say in da ghetto: Dis be whack!”

Ensichrys was somewhat surprised by the manner of creatures that welcomed them, though he did not find them repulsive. In fact, he rather enjoyed their presence, for he felt so much better now about the way he himself looked.

The Guivre brightened up immediately upon seeing that the maggot-bundle was not human. Instantly, the serpent took a liking to it. Mortracta, however, could feel its odd guttural vibrations and they were none too pleasurable. The way it moved and spoke was uncomfortable at best.

When the 'Alec' made his appearance, the Guivre reflexively reared back, but the Owl's words had sunken into his soul. The Guivre was civil and refrained from devouring the man.

Sector C... Mortracta thought to herself. Why does that seem significant?

Elsewhere, in that curiously high crevice in the cave, one of three shaded bells rang out on its own. As the low C pealed, a streamer of brightness came in through the makeshift skylight above, illuminating Mortracta's bell as it sounded, not malevolent this time, but heroic.

The ones in laboratory 17 could not hear this, of course, but for one who could- and could see it as well; perhaps this was to be Mortracta's brightest hour.

Ensichrys smirked at this seemingly kind man. "We're right behind you," he said. Ensichrys and his dual supporters followed along. O Penna atra Ensichrys thought, spero poto procedo.

Lilic nodded before she took off towards the station remember the directions as she smiled waving good by for now, her wings were the best thing to use for travel to the station for the moment seeing as there were large fisures((Can't spell that word, heh heh)) appreading everyone now and then as she looked around.

After what seemed like hours of flying for the half cat half angelic female she finally spotted the station. "Well, it's about bloody time I found this place, let's hope I can still get that semi-germ free car she walked about" she spoke to no one, that was a habit of Lilic's when she was alone, talking to herself...Or as she called it..Thinking out loud. "Okay, so this then that, alright and now I wait for a bus, tain, whatever you wanna call it to arrive, and tell them where I am from...Simple enough....Well, let's give this a try." She spoke the words again to herself.

"The air does not rush in because it cannot. There is no 'in' for it to rush in to." The Olvari explained, the three once again speaking as one. "These spaces are not simply a lack of ground, or air, they are a lack of....there is no word in your language, but everything would come closest. There is not even the space within which thing exist, therefore they cannot. We now know why we are here." Their tone brightened considerably, "Once this world, this entire dimension did not exist. Through a force of will, the power of Life, it now does, and it will again. We can help this place to heal. We will come with you and help you in your quest." The last was spoken to the whole group in a tone that invited no argument, it was not a request, or even a demand, but a simple statement of fact.

HisLordship wrote:

((Not quite words I'd use to describe Blaen...except maybe mad. But it'll do for now.))

Blaen took a glance around the room and at a look from Arian quickly joined him in looking over the documents on HisLordship's desk.
"Well?" Arian asked after a moment.
"I dunno boss. Might work, might not, hard t'say." Blaen replied before looking up at HisLordship, "So this guy didn't do straight lines huh? I mean all this stuff wouldn't really be this wobbly in real life would it? Looks pretty sculpted 'side from that. Wouldn't make sense t'sculpt it wobbly like that."
"Would you be willing to try?" Arian cut into his monologue.
"Well of couse I would boss. Wouldn't be much use if I weren't. I'll go now shall I?"

He didn't wait for a reply, instead he turned back to the picture in front of him and studied it for a few minutes more, turning his head from side to side and muttering to himself before finally standing with his eyes closed for almost a full minute. Suddenly he dissapeared, a brief pop and a slight drop in the rooms temperature the only sign of his departure.

"Best of luck to you." Arian muttered. "And now, we wait."

((Sorry if this seems a little like power-playing, but it's just how Blaen is. In his line of work he has to walk a narrow line between carefully planning how to do things without thinking too much about what he's actually doing, so he tends to just run to his own schedule without waiting around for anyone else to be ready.))

((guess I should respond sometime this century))

Blackfoot thought a minute.

"DP should have an old warp gate in his lab in the Corrupted Cave. Whether or not we can access it is another question altogether - but considering the Corrupted cave seems to exist outside the Dojo, that should be a good jumping off point."

Blackfoot then took his armband and started trying to punch numbers on it

"Almost....almost...there"

With that a blue warp portal appeared, which presumably led straight to the Corrupted Cave

"That was easier than it should have been,,,It's almost like he wanted someone to use that warp portal"

*Despite the invisible creatures assurances, Angel and Zed are more comfortable that they wont have to fly past ah.. those nothings again. They don't dismiss the fact that the warp may be changed by it, though, doing so would be careless and Angel has just found something again, far too important to miss. *

"Should we be concerned that that was so easy? you seem surprised,"

Redwings foreclaws had scuffed the ground slightly during the various exchanges, not only was he highly uncomfortable with the Dark Fire Dragons Blind Seer the only one keeping the link open, he had been starting to get impatient-it was hardly surprising considering his species. So Blackfoots sudden apparent revelation came as something of a relief to the young reptilian, even if they had to enter the Corrupted Cave, where the traitor Furnace now lived.

"Let's go then" Redwing said, rather gruffly and showing quite clearly he really was only a child "should we talk about everything we do before we do it?" He finished the sentence shortly and practically jumped into the swirling blue vortex, not caring whether it was unstable or not. Well, if it was and something happened to him then at least he'd done something to help. It was what he'd been sent here for, after all.

((Okay, time to get back into this RP...))

A small warp portal opened up not too far from Coolpikaaa, releasing HollowEyes into the middle of a street riot before collapsing inwards on itself, unable to remain stable in the Dojo's currently-apocalyptic atmosphere. Thrust into a situation far too chaotic for his liking, HollowEyes quickly decided that he'd disperse the rioters first and figure out what was going on as soon as he could after that.

Even without charms (having been forced to leave them when he abandoned his old body*) the Council's Second-in-Command was a fighting force to be reckoned with, and he was able to carve his way through the crowd without too much difficulty. Fortunately for the masses, unlike his sister HollowEyes knew the meaning of restraint, and those that he fought found themselves knocked out or incapacitated rather than killed. With the world about to end, HollowEyes didn't really feel in the mood to slaughter a bunch of disrespectful idiots.

A not-too-distant explosion and the presence of a familiar mind told HollowEyes that his Nekomata vassal had survived the attack on the Temple of Nothing*. ~Caton, have you been here long?~ ~No Boss, your friend the Paper Spirit just delivered me.~ Caton was a little surprised to hear his master's voice, but more than anything he was incredibly relieved. He wasn't too sure of what had happened to him since they'd last parted ways. ~She also said to tell you that she can't risk being in this world, but if necessary she'll retrieve you from it.~ HollowEyes frowned at this bit of news. ~Tch, Blackstar's that far gone is it?~ Caton did not reply, for this was not the sort of question that either of them wanted to hear an answer to, and yet they both knew it quite well.

The two continued to act as crowd controllers for the time being, for HollowEyes assumed that this would attract the attention of somebody who knew exactly what was going on. Although he didn't like to admit it, with no idea how long he'd been gone for or what exactly had changed in that time, he had no idea as to what else he should do.

-------------------------------------------

Little Sister, from her position on high in the Temple of Nothing, was still in a foul mood. The fact that HollowEyes had evaded her once more wasn't so annoying, no, what really got to her was that Noten had failed her*. Again. He was meant to be a God, how could he possibly prove to be so useless? She found herself wondering why the hell she'd even begun to hang out here in the first place.

Letting her mind wander back down to Blackstar, her Seventh Eye alerted her to the presence of a certain somebody. Somebody she'd not seen in a long time, and thought (like most of the Dojo) to be long dead. ~Embri!~ She mentally hissed, feeling both a sense of revulsion for the hated equine and a sense of malicious glee for the chance to deliver a bit of pain and suffering to the miserable mare.

Tracking Embri's mind was a piece of cake, especially considering how much those around her were thinking about her. Little Sister needed no more encouragement than this, and rushed to the entrance of the Temple of Nothing. Noten would normally have stopped her from heading down to the nearly-destroyed Blackstar, but he was currently distracted with the ressurecting of his dead disciples (who'd met their firey fates at the hands of Caton*).

Rushing to the Temple of Nothing's entrance, she hurled herself out of it and spread a set of woven wings. They weren't much good for anything except for gliding (not being actual wings), and so she'd probably only make it to the outskirts of the city, but Little Sister was so eager to confront Embri once more that such a distance meant nothing - she could already smell the foul stench Embri's constantly burning flesh ((obviously she can't from this distance, but she's egotistical enough to think that she can Razz)).

((* see the story 'Apocalypso' for the full details, but the most important things to note would be that Little Sister is back to communicating only via mindspeak, and that HollowEyes lost his original body to Mirror-Serpells. Not much has changed about him however, as regular Serpells had a clone ready for him to possess before he made his way back to Blackstar.))

?pfft. Showoff.?

Coolpikaaa reached over the glass coated floor and picked his pack up off the ground.He scanned over the group of knocked out rioters, *almost* admiting Holloweyes had done a good job.Those that had not yet been dealt with had started to retreat.

?I had things under control you know.?He said, stepping onto the street once more, and allowing the goo globules slide down into the dark leather of his pack for future use.

?And here I was thinking you had died.There goes my happy thoughts for the day.?
