Well hello Blackstar! How's everyone doing?

I'm ever so sorry for my absence over the summer and the past few months.
Summer created dramas, romance, betrayal and other such silly things related to a teenage girls' life.
Of course, this year I'm doing my Junior Certificate (Which is much like England's GSCEs, was it?) so that's the reason for my absence of late.

Now...

The title of this thread is really more to the point - I wish to become more active on Blackstar again, unfortunately without knowing what's going on I will have no idea how to!

So, who wants to give me a short recap of what's been going on and the role plays that are popular and the whatnot? I know it's a hassle, but pretty please? The long post could earn you some yen, even!

We've been invaded thrice, (The clans, the doctors and the goo)
The arena has heated up, for the EC and Guardians too!

DP died, insanity stopped, and holes sprouted up all over the place.The safari zone sparked again.Markus DeVane came to the dojo, and DH became a place you can go to.

I launched by space-station, then CP died and then came back as the spirit of color!

Well, thats all I can place right now...

A Short Retrospective On Threads Gone By and A Brief Recap of Threads Now Current
As According To The Viewpoint of Cirrial
Also Only Threads in The Wilds

NB. I wasn't present for a while during the beginning of your absence, and as such, this recap/retrospective only applies to those threads I actively participated in soon after my return. I can't remember what I wasn't there to experience, after all.
The information detailed mainly applies from November onwards. Any inconsistencies will be corrected as soon as anyone tells me that said inconsistencies exist.

NB NB. If anyone wants me to add a thread to this recap I'll edit it in. It'd be preferred if you could sum it up because it'll most likely be one I know nothing about.

New Worlds
ACTIVITY: Sporadic, semi-regular

The individual worlds as created and explored by Swix and 3kul continued to develop after some inactivity, with both worlds dramatically changed, whether for the better or for the worse. To fully summarise this thread would be a mammoth task for another day.

CONCLUSION: There is none, considering as the thread is still active.


The Mistake
ACTIVITY: Dormant

The thread experienced a minor revival after a several page long conversation between Lilic (rosebarks) and Kazumaru (Kazumaru), and very quickly dropped back down to inactive after that. The effects of this RP on future RPs are yet to be seen.

CONCLUSION: No-one found any treasure, so probably inconclusive as a whole.


OF NEW

Click-Click-Whirr
ACTIVITY: Apparently dormant due to departure of thread creator

This thread holds a particular importance to me, at least, because it was the thread I first introduced 501. But enough about that. The entire central square of Dojopolis was destroyed by a massive bomb. The survivors loosely gathered together, injured, shocked, and suspicious of everyone. The culprit behind the bomb was very nearly identified. They never were, though.

CONCLUSION: The bomber is still at large, and it doesn't look like they'll ever be caught. However, Dojopolis was rebuilt with little mention, as future RPs (both in realtime and whatever passes for a Blackstar timeline) make no mention of any devastation.


Twas The Night Before Xmas 2
ACTIVITY: Dormant if not dead

After the success of Twas The Night Before Xmas a year prior, Addman rebooted the concept with an open invitation to all to come wax lyrical about the light-hearted (to an extent) exploits of the characters of Blackstar. Six people posted their well-crafted rhyming adventures, but after 10 posts the thread just seemed to stop.

CONCLUSION: Better luck next year?


The Wall 2: In Space!
ACTIVITY: Unfortunately, dormant

Another sequel thread begun by Fort, creator of the original The Wall, it began promisingly and just kept getting better. A tough macho but glamorous bounty hunter, a bumbling yellow bearded captain with a penchant for odd names, a parasitic brain slug in the body of a mobster, a questionably sane peacekeeping colonel, a drug dealing space roach believing candy to be the greatest drugs of all, a judge robot that's perhaps a little too judgmental...
But like Twas The Night Before Xmas 2, it just died and never seemed to come back up.

CONCLUSION: Sequels don't seem to work on Blackstar.


Blue
ACTIVITY: Dormant, dormant, dormant

The elusive Biomatix Security want a specific man captured. Several bounty hunters, wannabe bounty hunters, and people with nothing better to do leap at the chance to claim their 500000 yen reward, and set about tracking down the man with the nickname of "Blue".
Dropped off the radar a few months ago and never came back.

CONCLUSION: Blue's still uncaptured and alive, everyone involved seems to have either given up in the future or something else might have happened.


The Dragons Den
ACTIVITY: Apparently dormant

If I get the details for this incorrect it's because I'm only now going over the RP. Danikat rewrites and adapts the plot of one of the first RPs she ever made. The ruler of a village or province runs screaming through a village, questioning his identity and the burning pain in his head. Blackstar characters filter in, wanting to know what's happened. After a local mage guesses that the leader may have been attacked by a "fire viper", and dispatches the "heroes" to retrieve an item to save the leader's life. Only it's in the possession of a dragon, and not the weak type of dragon, oh no.

CONCLUSION: Overlooked at the time in favour of Click-Click-Whirr and the beginning of Death of a God.


OF CURRENT

Death of a God
ACTIVITY: Generally high, but not so much recently

The current epic thread. Au'Marui, Dau'Pay, DP. Known by many names, loved by his people. And though few know how, he died recently. And while the community was stricken and saddened, they had to get on with their lives.

But that didn't turn out to be so easy. With DP dead, his creation is going down with him. The entire realm of Blackstar is just disappearing, leaving vast, infinite holes in the ground. There is panic, there are plans, and there are plots.

The Evil Council contemplate abandoning Blackstar, shifting the Corrupted Cave's exit elsewhere. Several plans arise to revive DP, and plans are made to replace DP or otherwise halt or reverse the realm's decay. The Song of the Grove, the collection of the Ambrosia Salad, the sacrifice of an immortal heart, the hunt for DP's heir...

CONCLUSION: Too early to make a conclusion, what with the very fate of the entire world and possibly worlds still uncertain.


Web of the Clans
ACTIVITY: Recently very dormant

In yet another invasion, an alien menace known as the Clans descends upon Blackstar to conquer it for their own nefarious means. The Clans, a society of two alien species, attack various areas of the Dojo, and even take the fight to the space around the world. Resistance comes in the form of the crack Blackstar anti-invasion team, also known as "any character that happened to be around at the time".

CONCLUSION: Well, based on the success rate of every previous Blackstar invasion... I'd say the odds are in our favour.


The Last-Forever Conspiracy
ACTIVITY: High

The long-overdue continuation of the thread "The Last Forever-Machine", the threat of the goo aliens is ever pervasive, as the heroes from the last two chapters of the rebel force against an invasion of goo-based aliens march onwards to goo city.
This third chapter in the Last-Forever story starts with the rebel force lost in the forest zoo of the goo aliens, filled with captives, clones, and clones of captives, but more importantly, clones of the rebels.
If you have no idea what any of this means, there's an equally confusing page-by-page recap of the last two chapters on the first page of this thread.

CONCLUSION: I really, really have no idea.

So there's my meagre attempt at summarising a fraction of what's happened while you've been away on a thread-by-thread basis. I'd try to put it into some kind of chronological order, but there's massive inconsistencies all over the place, and characters in two or sometimes three places at once during the same time frame, as well as characters inadvertantly time traveling to be present in some threads and others.

You should have saved that 10K for me Raven. My version of events has a megalomanic squid named Maximillian, seventeen hooker-bots, and a journey to the ends of civilisation as we know it (which, as we all know ends with scientists trying to patch up holes in the ozone layer with plutonium jelly).
