Tamae vs. Alloexustio

The Arena's holograms and the like were already at work when the demon-raised woman known as Tamae was entering.

She wore her typical black cloak. Only her face, hands, and perhaps a few strands of hair were visible while she had it on. As she was most likely not going to attack directly, as was her style, whether she had it or not made no difference.

This was her first fight here in the Arena, which didn't bother her one bit. She'd been trained in such things ever since the day the Desertblaze clan had taken her in. Such skills were vital to the desert life.

Today, however, the arena was not of her preferred desert, but instead it was a beach. Waves crashed against black sand, and about 20' out to sea there was a sharp point of stone jutting out of the water.

After the main beach, there were dunes, also black, with tussocks of grass growing at their peaks.

Quite an interesting arena. She'd never controlled beach sand before, and hopefully it wasn't all that much different from desert sand.

Now, to the important matter-who was this creature she was facing, the one called Alloexustio? Tamae knew nothing of him except his name.

She doubted this would be a hard match. Most foes went down easy if she had access to sand, which she did now. So going up against an unknown opponent was not a cause of worry to her.

In fact, after only 5 minutes of standing here, she was impatient for him to arrive.

Looking across the beach, Tamae scanned the area with her blood red eyes, searching for any trace of movement.

Near the water, Alloexustio hopped with a terrible gait. He was dragging behind him a wooden plank with a large iron nail in it.

Driftwood, he thought, comes in handy sometimes.


Alloexustio searched for Tamae. He didn't know what her abilities were, but there were little possibilities. Here there were two things- sand and water. Either he would be drenched or barraged. Either way- he couldn't wait. He tested out his magnetic ability briefly. He could lift up the plank by the nail, at least. There it hung, in midair. He grabbed it again and continued dragging it. He walked in a meandering path, which is why it was taking so long. There was nothing straightforward about this demon.

What, ho?

Tamae glimpsed something that wasn't black sand or a patch of waving grass. It was very, very difficult to tell what it was from her distance, but it appeared to be some sort of reptile.

Calming down, she waited for the creature, whom she guessed was Alloexustio, to arrive so she could examine just what she was up against.

However, a few moments later, it still hadn't arrived. And irritation swelled up like a blazing fire within her once more. A snarl crossed her face.

Finally, her patience reached its end.

To heck with it.

She focused on controlling the sand around her, at first sending ripples across it to see if anything was different on a beach then it was in the desert. Upon seeing the sand respond like it would normally, she smiled and stopped its motion.

Then, she raised a mound of sand, which went up to her knee and stretched from the shore to the dunes, and sent it in the direction of the approaching figure.

Alloexustio continued to walk around- seemingly aimlessly. He was getting ever closer to Tamae, however, and although he seemed oblivious, nothing escaped his notice. Alloexustio saw the broad wave of sand approaching. "I knew it," he mumbled.

The sand wave grew ever closer but made little noise. Alloexustio turned at the last second and hopped high into the air. The wave passed beneath him and he landed on the other side of it.

Alloexustio now hopped in a rather straight line toward Tamae. Closer, closer, closer still he grew. "Are you the one I am to combat today?" Alloexustio shouted from afar in a rather friendly tone.

Tamae watched with interest to see the creature's response to the first move of the battle. Apparently, this thing wasn't as unsuspecting as she first thought.

It leaped right over the sand wave she had summoned, and then headed towards her in a straight line, much faster than the initial approach.

As it drew near, she got a good look at it. As it got nearer, she noticed that it had-only one leg?!

And its weapon-it was carrying a board. What kind of weapon is that?

After taking note of the creature's other features, she couldn't see how this would be a hard battle.

It then asked if she was its opponent, and Tamae knew this was Alloexustio.

She answered with "Yes." She made no move to attack, instead she waited to see what this dinoinsectoid was capable of doing.

"Ah, ok then," Alloexustio replied, as if he had just been told that supper was ready, or that his favorite show was coming on in five minutes. "Best not waste any time then, eh?"

Immediately after these words came out of his bizarrely shaped mouth, he wrenched the nail from the board and threw the plank with unnatural speed at Tamae's stomach, snickering unhealthily. Chaos had entered the arena.

Tamae was not surprised at Alloexustio's casual reply, but it was confusing. Did this creature know who he was up against?

Shortly after that, the thing wrenched something out of the board it was carrying and whipped it at her. It was moving remarkably fast.

It seemed that it would hit, but, right as it was about to hit her, a wall of sand suddenly sprung up and blocked the projectile. Grabbing the board, it pulled it down into the sands below Tamae's feet.

Without saying anything else, Tamae summoned a tentacle of sand to appear near her opponent's foot. Upon its appearance, it attempted to creep up the leg, in an attempt to knock the dinoinsectoid down.

Alloexustio thought this strange. This sand could do just about anything, it appeared. Alloexustio also noticed how much static charge the moving sand was creating. Alloexustio hopped up and down, thanks to the thinness of the small sand "tentacle". He then started repelling the diamagnetic sand straight downward, causing it to fan out in a crater-like shape. He came to rest again. "This is going to get boring really quickly," he said. He then levitated the iron nail in front of him.

Switching both polarities, Alloexustio propelled the iron nail directly at Tamae's chest with speed comparable to an arrow being fired from a bow.

Apparently, it was going to take more than sand power to take down this creature.

It had flattened Tamae's sand tentacle without much problem. Now, it was attacking once more, this time by taking a nail, levitating it, and then sending it flying at her chest like an arrow.

She threw herself to the ground, narrowly avoiding being hit. She didn't have enough time now to concentrate on raising a barrier.

It was now time to use her other powers.

Getting back to her feet, Tamae crossed her arms across her chest, and then swung them outwards fast. This caused 6 clones of herself to separate from her. They landed in the sand around her, ready for battle. The only thing differing them from the original was the fact that they wore no cloak, while the original hadn't taken hers off.

Along with this, a patch of sand behind Tamae began to ripple, and it seperated into 6 patches, all still rippling. They positioned themselves so they were seperate, but together. They did not move to attack, instead they waited.

One of the clones charged towards Alloexustio, fist ready to punch once she got close enough. The rest simply adopted fighting stances, preparing to act as backup.

The original, after creating her clones, returned to her normal standing position, and took a few steps back to stay out of the way.

Alloexustio saw the clone dashing toward him and was none too pleased that his nail had missed. Alloexustio turned to face the clone. His skin was made of hematite and something told him that this Tamae clone's fist would lose that particular battle, so he simply let it hit him.

Meanwhile, the nail was speeding back to the battle, attracted by Alloexustio's power- aimed at the back of a clone's head.

As the clone's fist struck Alloexustio, she winced, and pulled her hand back. Her knuckles were bloody from the blow.

As an alternative, she lifted her leg and attempted to kick the dinoinsectoid in the chest. Her foot wasn't bare, so if it didn't work, at least it would be less painful.

As for the nail, it hit one of the waiting clones behind the original right behind the head, killing her fairly quickly.

The original Tamae turned to face the casualty, and made a scowl.

She quickly disposed of the body in her usual manner, by using the sand to wrap around the wrists and ankles of the deceased, and pulling the body down into the sand, taking the nail with it.

While this was happening, one of the moving patches of sand rose up, forming itself into a gorilla-like sand golem. It shuffled towards the front of the clones, uttering a low roar, but not making a move to attack.

Alloexustio felt this kick, albeit lightly. He smiled inside. The creature would not be able to physically hurt him. Alloexustio looked at the sand creature, then at the clone. He got a devilish idea.

"Hey, Tamae," he said in a syrupy voice. "I must be pretty... repulsive, eh?" Alloexustio lifted four arms and repolarized the clone's body- repelling it harshly at the sand monster.

He felt around with his field for the nail. It was detectable, but he'd have to stand directly over it if he hoped to retrieve it.

The clone collided with the golem.

The impact knocked the clone unconscious, but the golem was seemingly unaffected. After kicking the clone off, it stared blankly at it, then at Alloexustio, as if being asked what 2 + 2 was. Which, coincidentally, it could not answer.

Tamae kept her mouth shut in response to the dinoinsectoid's question. In her opinion, he wasn't just "repulsive", in all meanings of the word, he was actually pretty annoying.

She just cast a glance at the golem. Understanding what she meant, it roared, and shuffled towards Alloexustio.

Alloexustio let his shoulders slump. He was feeling rather deflated. He had fervently hoped for much more time to play around with his enemy, but he could not really blame her for not messing around. Not every enemy chose to procrastinate, it seemed.

Alloexustio gave a bizarre little smile with his odd mouth and extended four arms. It was a shame that he had to show his power so soon. His arms were held out in front of him. Alloexustio shut his eyes and trembled slightly. The sand before him was being jerked about in strange paths.

Alloexustio was creating a barrier in front of himself. It was nearly finished alternating. This barrier would polarize everything that touched it and repel it from Alloexustio. He only hoped it would be done by the time the golemn got there, lest it only be stopped momentarily in its tracks.

The golem continued its shuffling path towards Alloexustio, intent on smashing his face in with a few punches. Incidentily, it was also completely ignoring what was going on in front of its foe.

Tamae, however, was.

"Stop, you stupid brute!" she hissed at it, but it either didn't hear her, or was just being plain stubborn.

Either way, as it attempted to cross the jerking sand, the force of the magnetism caused the sand forming its head to blow away. In turn, the rest of the golem collapsed, forming a lifeless heap of sand in front of Alloexustio.

While this was going on, the clone that had been thrown into it had regained consciousness. Shaking her head, she rejoined the rest of her crew.

The original showed her annoyance and extreme anger on her face, which was twisted into a fearsome-looking snarl. This creature was not only more powerful then she expected, it was extremely annoying as well.

Her next attack used one of the other golems, which was still flat and undistinguishable from the sand around it, other than it was rippling. This moved forwards, attempting to go around the field Tamae's opponent had created.
