Is there any reason I might regret using my Master Ball on Mespirit?
And if so can anyone suggest some tips (other than the obvious) to make it easier to catch?
I don't normally like using Master Balls since it seems like a cheat, but at the moment doing it any other way would involve training up at least one Pokemon specifically for the task (to put it to sleep mainly), which is a bit of a waste of time when as far as I know it's the only one I might need the Master Ball for anyway. As long as the other legendaries don't run off during battle I can catch them the normal way.

DO you have Dialga or Palkia? If so - yes, go ahead and use it., if not, save it for that one. After the 16 trillionth battle you do to get to it, you're ready to just catch and go.

Isn't there another pokemon that runs around like Mespirit though?

Yeah I got Palkia the traditional way.
And yes it did take about 16 trillion times to do it. Drove me crazy that you couldn't even save in between battles.
And it seems Cresselia involves chasing it around as well. In the process of finding that out I also learned that Mespirit doesn't heal between battles so it's possible to wear it down over time even if it runs away. Which I might just try now.
