Word Censors

Ok, I can take a joke, but it's just plain dumb now.

So to prevent further abuse of the Word censors, I've removed it from the Mod CP. Moderators will no longer have the power to edit word filters.

Can't say you didn't ask for it.

I will bemoan this, since I pioneered word-filter mischief. I hate to see my brain-child euthanized.

However, I trust your judgement. If abuse becomes too great, then the removal of the items which cause abuse is justified.

Might I become informed of those who motivated you to take such action? I wish to inquire as to why they went so far.

A wise choice by our Sensei. With such a large portion of Blackstar's population being mods nowadays, it's not at all surprising that one of the newer ones to want to try this. Frankly, it is not at all necessary to have the word-filters accessable to every moderator anyway. It's not as if a new derrogatory term comes along every other day and we need everyone on guard at all times, poised to add something new to the filter.

It is of little consequence to our plans. I think the EC can rely on our good Sensei to support us next time we see fit for the filter to be altered. Twisted Evil

I can see where you're coming from, but it's a shame that the majority of the mods here who've actually been pretty good with the system (and those of us who've made major changes (ie: during plots and such) have usually given the admins a heads up) end up losing out because of one or two mods who got a little carried away.

However, since EnD's pointed out it doesn't matter to us from the Council's point of view and I've never really had any personal need to use the word filter, I can't say that I see it as too huge a loss.

I don't think any mods have any real reason to edit the word censor, unless some kind soul wants to allow me to use the word F.A.R.T. as it is integral to my posting :p
