Rosebarks Goes to the Dojo For Some Training

(( ^_^ I figured that everyone else seems to break their's up and I understand why, true it is boring to read the long text groups. Lol. I used the weapon to my advantage as best I could. hehe...oh nice attack!!))

Lilic was taken off her feet but she smirked, she was different after all. Her wings came out helping her to land on her feet but she had a hand to the ground. "Darn it!" She said as she looked to the bow. "Stupid thing, murf!" She growled.

Lilic got up grabbing the green tipped arrow, magical as one would see with her tendancy to use it. She grinned. "Let's see if I can do this..." She whispered grabbing a second one with the first, she had an idea on what to do.

~Fire first one, electricity second one!~ She used the trick she had been taught by Obed, thought speech, hoping this would work. It was going out on a limb, but heck, it was worth a shot at least. "Take this!" She yelled releasing the arrows, sighing heavily. This was not easy to say the least.

((How's that, I think that was only 2 attacks... A dodge being in there, a slim one. Lol. I figured that if she's got wings, why not use 'em. Lol)

Both arrows came off the bow at essentially the same time. Whiteoak flipped the tractor beam to try to intercept the arrows again, but when the beam touched the electricity arrow first, it got a massive jolt that caused the electronics on the staff to shut down for protection. The other arrow continued on course. It struck Whiteoak on the upper right chest, squarely into the armor. It could stick, but it could not completely puncture Whiteoak's special construction of carbon fibers in polymer composite resins used in his armor.

The flash of flames, however, singed much of the hairs on his face. It could have been significantly worse had not Whiteoak's magical shielding detected the presence of fire magic and produced in response large amounts of water and cold to repel the intruding magic. It wasn't fast enough to completely prevent it, but it could take it down to a brief flash.

Quickly, he snaps up his right, prosthetic, metal hand, and shoots a powerful force field at her, she should be able to see the shimmering outline of the field as it races towards her with enough force to easily knock her off her feet and send her flying a good couple of dozen feet.

This time Lilic flew but she grinned letting herself slid as she closed her eyes most of the way her mind going into the egg like shell for proection. The shield she had been taught, it was still weak but not as weak as the first one, she was using this to train herself to use the shield to protect herself.

"Sir, why do you want to get these back so badly, tell me that, please?" She asked to him as she slid the distance putting her bow on her shoulder to make it easier to hang onto it. She smirked. "Not so easy, is it?" She questioned him, grinning widely.

Directing as much of his magical energy as he could muster, he cast the “Long Dark Night of the Soul” spell at Lilic.

That spell is a spiritual energy draining spell which causes loss of purpose and a great lethargy, Like a spiritual black hole it sucks energy out of a being so it just doesn’t care about the things that seemed important to it before. In beings where good resides, this usually precedes a time of personal growth and a reordering of priorities into a new spiritual level, but in evil, insane and chaotic beings this next stage is not possible, and it just drains the heck out of them and leaves them with a strong feeling that they just want to go back to bed and pull the covers up over their heads and shout “go away” whenever their roommates knock on the door. They would see the ultimate futility of all their efforts and would have an overriding urge to throw down their weapons and leave the battle field.

then he said:

"You want to know why I want it back? Do you really want to know? I don't think you do, I want it back because it is serious magic, and I don't think you are ready for that level of magic. Such an imbalance tends to corrupt the holder, why do you think that neither Sanders nor Obed really wanted to use it. It really has a strong will of its own, and I don't think you can control it, and I think you will eventually do bad things because of the strength of that bow, so I intend to stop that from happening.

Now, GIVE ME THAT BOW !

he was now useing his empathic skills to share back with her feelings of self doubt, and despondency, and lack of purpose.....

((Nice. Bad move to challenege Lilic though...Lilic is me and I generally take on a challenge no matter how I feel, stubborn females, heh. ))

Lilic looked at him, wanting to throw the bow down since the spell had obviously hit her, by her not running and her turning around. "I understand what you are saying Sir....But I can't give it back, it's a gift....And.... I can win over it....I know I can......... In my heart...I know I can fight it's power....... And win over it. I only use weapons for good and will never turn it on an innocent being........ In times of peace!" She said as she looked at the ground hugging the bow to her, rather than throwing it down.

This could be seen more as a way to either counter the spell, or just a way to confort her upset feeling, she was a female after all and generally females were easy to upset. "What if I try it out...For awhile...And...If I can't handle it...You take it back...........I don't think Obed-sama would give it to me.......If he hadn't seen....... Promise in what.....In what I can do..." She explained, a few tears rolling down her cheeks. She wipped them away as she hugged the bow tighter, sorta like a teddy bear.

subtly, in her head Lilic heard:
~"You can do it, its just the spell, you are strong enough, I have condifence in you. I've been watching. Push his magic out of your space, you can at least regain control of yourself. That is ALWAYS crucial, stay in control of your space.

oh and, Hi, I'm in the farthest left window, on the first row of windows above ground level."~

Should she look that way, she would see Mr. Sanders, standing in the window and twinkling fingers at her.

Lilic looked over slightly as she smiled. His face was like a beacon of light, as she closed her eyes her physical shield going up as she concentrated before the mental one came up purely in her mind this time as she fought the spell pulling the bow away from her chest slowly, as she started to grab a brown and white fletched arrow.

This arrow had a tendancy to be one that, all you had to do was look at the opponent and the arrow would hit, or at least it should hit. It was magical, of course. Lilic seemed to like her magic.

Lilic looked to him the barrier up in her mind as she caught sight of Whiteoak just a bit as she took deep breaths. ~Thank you Mr. Sanders. I knew this bow wouldn't be given to me if people didn't believe I had the power to fight it's will to mine!~ She told Mr. Sanders, as she smiled at him nodding to Mr. Sanders shortly before turning her attention fully on Whiteoak.

"Sir, I would like having my own mind BACK!" She yelled the last part letting the arrow go aiming right for him her eyes flared open as she had him in her sight. ((Wee, one attack, huge post! YAY! I'm getting better...I think...))

Lilic's positive act of will and self confidence sent a wave of spiritual energy outwards from her that filled the the inside of the protective shield, pushing Whiteoak's spell and mind control out of her space.

Kinetic energy... transference of force... one thing knocking into another and that then into another....

It could only go that far, but it cleared HER space, and that then sent force back against Whiteoak's magic, which transferred the force to Whiteoak, the wave hit him just about the same time as the arrow did, again it stuck into his armor, adding to the force knocking him over.

He threw back more of the energy draining spell, smashing into the outside of Lilic's field.

inside of her, quietly she heard another voice
~"Mistress, If I may, there is an exposed jugular vein, just above his armor, if you lift your aim just a bit, I believe we could get a kill, shall we try it again?"!
it was the bow talking to her....

Lilic blinked looking to the bow before she smirked only slightly. ~It might be exposed, but I do not wish to kill an innocent being. He is only trying to stop calamity from happening, I wish not to kill him. He is of good intentions, wrongful ideas, but good intentions all the same.~ She told the bow while she looked at it carefully. ~Oh, and. Call me Lilic~ She added after she looked it over the shield faultering slightly.

Lilic suddenly felt the smash on her field as she looked up her hand going for an arrow before she closed her eyes. Carefully, she took a deep breath to calm herself from doing anything too naive. "Sir, this bow will not take me over. It will be put to the proper use, and not an evil one!" She repeated her earlier statement as she watched Whiteoak.

Lilic knew her hits were not getting through nearly enough but she was not trying to kill after all. ~If I'm going to win, without killing him, there has to be a way to either unarm him or knock him out...But how?~ She thought to herself. "Do you wish to call the fight off Sir?" She asked, just winging the idea while she thought up a way to do this without killing, or badly injuring her opponent.

Lilic never fought to kill unless the person she faced was evil or was trying to kill her first. She glanced to Mr. Sanders, her guard going down some more. The field was only as strong as its caster, and Lilic knew her strength was starting to wane, and fast.

[Shine]

Whiteoak looked over at Mr. Sanders. Mr. Sanders nodded to him. He got up and as he brushed the leaves and grass off of himself he said:

"Yes, I believe I do. GEEZ you're stronger than you look. I think you will find the General waiting for you back in the Dojo. You did well, and now I've got to go repair my armor."

"See you around, and you keep that cat in check, right?" said Obed, as he and Whiteoak headed down the road together.

Whiteoak says to Obed:
" You weren't supposed to give her that crystal, THATS what I really should a took from her. THAT wasn't part of the instructions."

"Yeah, well neither was Jimmy, so I had to get rid of him, he'd a spoiled it all. And besides, those things are a dime a dozen back home and you know it. It wasn't a big one anyway, and she isn't going to get inta any trouble," replied Obed

"yah, but you know how the General is when we improvise."

"So then just keep your fat mouth shut and don't bring it up."

and the banter continued untill they were out of sight.

Lilic looked at them before she sighed lightly putting the bow back around her shoulder her plans forgotten as she tucked the crystal with her other necklace as she grinned. "Well....This is one interesting day...Onto the Dojo!" She said to herself, seeing as the two weren't there anymore, pumping her fist into the air with ethusiasm.

Lilic walked towards the Dojo reflecting on what was going on and what had happened. She had been given a bow, a crystal and then had to fight to keep the bow...This was turning out to be some day for her. "Well, time to see what my next challenge is...Whatever it is, I'm going to sleep good tonight!" she said to herself again as she laughed.
