They say it was an epic battle. A Battle of Gods - Immortals of immense powers in their own right. They also say he made his move to early. It was a desperate move - designed to free the spirits. They say it was an awesome spectacle to watch the righteous actions of The High Council of Gods as they delivered their punishment; stealing away his immortality, and the powers therein.

Then they say his love cried, as she was forced to make his death a reality.

But they say a lot of things, and none of what they say could describe the terrible, horrible Truth. Au'Marui, once God of Insanity, King of all Psychotopia, and High Sensei of Blackstar Dojo, was now dead, lying in his coffin.

It was a great ceremony for their leader. It was held in front of the castle He had called home - the Castle-that-isn't -as-big-as-the-big-castle-but-not-as-small-as-the-small-one. They had created a monument to the being that had constructed their City-state, and their world.

It was a rainy day to have a funeral - this in and of itself a unique event, for it was real rain - not flags, melons, or arrows, but water, falling from the sky. It was as if Blackstar was weeping for it's creator as well. Unfortunately nothing could be further from the Truth. The realm was also dying. Without the energy of its creator, it could not sustain its rather precarious position in space and time. But today people took it for weeping - it was a day of great sorrow after all.

The High Shaman in the Order of Au’Marui got up to speak. This was also a great day of sorrow for her – not because she had any type of special attachment to the person now revealed to be both her God AND her King, but because after this service, she would now be jobless with no training in any type of career.

“There can be no doubt that Au’Marui was a great man AND a great deity. He wore many hats, but in everything he had the interest of his people at heart…”

On and on she droned – saying all the normal funeral sayings, adding a comment about his legacy here, his accomplishments there – as on and on the people passed to view the body, and pay one last respect..

((This is a prologue of sorts to an RP we are planning. Yes, DP is really dead. Unless you would have had reason to be there, it's best you don't ask how - adds to the realism. And the only people who would have been able to be there are gods and spirits in the Immortal realm - I'll notify them of details if they wish to participate. In a few days time, I'll post part II - and then the fun really starts - but considering this is THE DP we are talking about, I figured you'd like a chance to post a thing or two about how much you can't stand him first Wink ))

((DP is dead! I don't believe it! Surprised))

Upon hearing of DP's death, Little Sister proceeded to high-five everybody in sight. She had not been in such a great mood since before she'd arrived here, as now that the Dojo's ridiculously protective God was out of the picture she was free to do whatever she wanted to. "What should we do first? Oh! I know, let's go on an Embri hunting party! I haven't seen that stupid mule in ages, I wonder where she's hiding?"

HollowEyes sighed as his sister continued to run amok in his office, searching desperately for a high-powered rifle that wasn't there. DP had never been too friendly to the Parasitian Second-in-Command, and whilst his death was a tragedy in the sense that a former Council great was now lost to them it was also something worth celebrating as the only one who could protect the Dojo from a full-scale Council invasion now lay stone dead in a coffin near some memorial.

By the time HollowEyes had joined the Council DP was on his way out, so he didn't know all that much about the God really, which led him to believe that it was probably best to leave the Council's official response to those who did. They'd probably already gone to his funeral already, which meant that the Second-in-Command would have to go there himself to ask one of them to say a few words on behalf of the Council.

"No wait! I should get Noten to take over Psychotopia! DP was a God, Noten's a God, it's foolproof!"

HollowEyes frowned as Little Sister continued to tear up his office, not giving a damn how many of his personal possessions she broke. "I'm going to the funeral now," HollowEyes started, but upon seeing the evil gleam in her eyes he quickly added. "It's probably best that you don't come. You'll need the time to make all those plans of yours, and if you don't get started quick you know somebody else is going to move on in." Little Sister's eyes widened slightly, she knew that he was trying to manipulate her but he was also telling the truth - everybody who'd ever wanted a piece of Blackstar would make their move soon. "You're right! And my first move is to steal your office from you to make plans in, so get the hell out Byule!" "There's some paper and pens in the top drawer of my desk." Was all he had to say in response as he left. Odds were by the time he got back she'd be gone again, enacting whatever crazy plan she came up with. "Make sure she doesn't wreck the place up too much." He muttered to Caton as he wandered down one of the many corridors of the Cave. "We both know that you can't go to a funeral." "Yes Boss."

------------------------------------

HollowEyes had to admit that the funeral was very DP-ish. Bouquets of just about anything were placed all about his open coffin (sandwiches, DVD box sets of '24' series three, spare tires, that sort of anything), and people seemed to be emptying boxes of pocky in it as they walked past in what HollowEyes assumed had to be showing respect. The High Shaman was making the most of her last few moments as one of the employed, it seemed that she was deliberately dragging the speech on for as long as possible, so HollowEyes assumed that she had to be getting paid for her one last job.

He couldn't see anybody from the Council from where he was standing, so he figured that he may as well go say a final farewell of sorts to DP. Given that the High Shaman gave no indication of finishing up her speech he figured that they might not even get a chance to speak at all, so he had plenty of time.

He finally reached the front of the line and stood before the now deceased DP. It was almost bizarre, seeing the once almighty God of Insanity now lying silently for more than five minutes, no more harmful to anybody now than his coffin itself. "So, now you're dead." HollowEyes started, feeling more than a little weird talking to a corpse, but he didn't really know what else to do. "I'm going to assume that you've got no soul for me to search the spirit world for, seeing as how you already came from there." A pity, HollowEyes noted, it would've been good to exploit DP in a weakened state. "I don't suppose you'll be able to tell me, but I am curious to learn how a God goes and dies, especially considering how much you used to brag about your indestructibility to anybody who ever crossed you."

It seemed that the more he spoke, the less uncomfortable he felt, and he suddenly remembered something that he'd meant to ask DP. Something he'd been meaning to ask him for a very long time but had never bothered to, and now it was too late. "Damn." he thought aloud, but decided that he may as well ask anyway. It wasn't like he was going to get an answer. "It's a shame that I didn't ask you earlier, because this is probably going to bug me until the day that I die, but what was the deal with the relics? Why'd you let me get the Ruby Dagger?" He frowned as he continued on down this thought path, more for himself than anything. "We both know that I'm no pyromancer, it would've been better for you to stop me somehow and let somebody else get it. And don't go pretending that you couldn't because you totally could have."

He looked over to DP, forgetting for a brief moment that he was dead and expecting some kind of answer. The calm face that looked back at him was devoid of any kind of expression, and HollowEyes felt a little sad that he mightn't know this or any other secrets that DP had kept from them. Not so much because he wanted to know them, just that he felt sure that DP had set them up so that he could watch them come to fruition, and now he'd miss it. "Whatever, I guess I'd best let the next guy speak. Enjoy non-existence DP, here's a little something if you ever feel like coming back to life."

HollowEyes placed a single charm inside the coffin, one that had a design totally different to any others that he'd made before - the letters 'DP' swirled across it, barely visible against a chaotic background of ink. He had designed this charm with the intentions of stealing some of DP's powers back when he was alive should such an opportunity ever present itself, but now it was useless to him. If DP had any spirit energy left at all though, if whatever had killed him had been anything less than 100% thorough in doing so, the charm would suck it up like a sponge. HollowEyes was doubtful that it would do much more than decorate his coffin, but he decided that he'd check on it again before the funeral was over.

Paranesia sensed it happen. For the first time in many ages, a shiver rippled across her invisible body.

Immediately, in a rare moment, she was shocked and mildly disturbed.

How could they do that? A second time, no less--

How did they cause a distraction -- she wasn't fully watching DP when this occured -- how could they distract him enough to inact it--

How did they manage to do this in such a short time span?!

She felt a rage burning within her.

Not of herself-- but of another's.

She felt it-- a rare feeling, of the thoughts of another, accessed against her will.

The feelings that felt like those of another, yet were hers as well -- the emotions of that small part inside of her that knew Au'Marui as a friend, the emotions of the one who cared for him.

The one who she thought was dead. Shaon.

The thoughts were faint, confused.

Huh...? Dead?

Who is- oh. No- no no- it can't be, he's as-

Who killed him?! I awake from a forced rest only to find that the only being still alive who didn't- who I cared for is dead?! Who killed him?!

Paranesia herself was too shaken to fight back her split personality.

The one who created you. By the same ritual -- you wouldn't remember it.

She didn't wait for a response, instead calling to her allies.

~Articus. Kazumaru. Au'Marui is -- is dead. We must make our move now, before someone else does. Kazumaru, get here immediately. Teleport.~

Articus, who was not very far, responded immediately.

~Paranesia, I am here, as I was. We are just waiting on Kazumaru.~

Kazumaru strode into Paranesia's chambers, clad in grey fatigues, given to him by Paranesia's mook, Genkaku.

The spirit bowed to Paranesia, his still-silver eyes showing clearly, being the only clearly non-human part of him. "Hail, Goddess."

Kaz straightened up and turned to the God of Ice. "Articus." he said, with a slight nod.

Coolpikaaa wasn't one for funerals.

The whole "someone is dead" thing scared him.Scared him too much..

Yet he was here.He sat at the back, far away from anyone he might know, or anyone who might know him, and when it was time to look at the body, coolpikaaa just stared at it, frowned, and went back to his seat.

Dp being dead...it just didn't seem real.

Lilic walked up to the coffin looking into it. Dhe hadn't known DP for very long but this was the one person she was actually scared of, truly scared of. To think that DP was dead, the guy she feared, had thought unable to die was laying here in a coffin looking peaceful. "You know...DP.....I might not have known you well, but that of what I did know with you, you scared me, you truly did, the God of Insanity, the creator of this world, it scared me to think of how much power you held in your hands, in that body....And yet, to see you here...It's not what I would've ever thought possible..." Lilic had told him, trailing off at the end not sure what else to say to the God. She was shocked and even though she didn't have very much to give him, she gave him her uncut sapphire that she had bought for the sake of having it, she liked sapphires they were her favorite jewel and she was giving it to him as a gift. "If you have a spirit...I hope it rests well DP....I really do" Lilic said to him as she sighed lightly, going back to where she had been before watching the others. Now what? It was the question on her mind, and she had a feeling she wasn't the only one thinking that. Now what was to happen to this world? This land? Her new home, the home to all these people who cared for Au'Mari?

Noten froze when he noticed what had happened, and for the first time that he knew of he found himself paralyzed with fear. How did they do it? How? Gods were meant to be untouchable! Indestructable! So then how could one simply disappear?

His train of thought along with his seemingly endless mental questions about this were both cut short as Tengu entered the room. She had with her a strange guest, one that he did not recognize - an odd creature, shaped like her but with something large and round attached to his back. Tengu kneeled before the God, her head bowed to the ground as she spoke. "Master, I am sorry to intrude upon your privacy like this, but this person wished to meet with you. I regrettably could not refuse his request."

The guest did not even so much as lower his head, nor did he intend to. He already had a deity to worship, and this one didn't even come close to her. "I thought that you'd be a little less visible, seeing as how you're meant to be the God of Nothing and all." He remarked, drawing Noten's attention to his blindfold. "Do not be fooled, Master, he is far less blind than he seems." Tengu whispered quickly, still in her kneeling position. Noten was not sure why this person was here, but his lack of fear was a little unnerving. The God bristled with power as he spoke. "Why are you here, strange creature?" The guest was not be frightened by this God's show of power, he felt that it was nothing compared to that of his Goddess.

"My name is Genkaku, I am a servant of the almighty Paranesia - Mistress of the Mirage, Priestess of the Phantasmic, the Dutchess of Delusion, she goes by many names but her one true name is the Goddess of Illusion." Genkaku was using a bit of poetic exaggeration here - Paranesia had never gone by those names (aside from the Goddess one), they were just titles that he'd made up for her. "Hag of Hallucinations..." Muttered Tengu, though fortunately for her Genkaku did not hear this.

"And why, emissary of Paranesia, are you here?" Noten responded, unfazed by Genkaku's dramatic introduction of Paranesia. "Ah, yes, well, you see, the thing about that is..." He suddenly seemed to lose whatever confidence that he had before, trying to figure out how to best word this. "Come on Genkaku, get it together! This is for Paranesia!" He whispered to himself. After petting something small and furry for a little bit (Entrails Razz) he seemed ready to speak again. "I-I'm here to ask you to protect my Mistress... Not that she needs protecting! She is more than capable of looking after herself!" The more this creature spoke the more confused Noten felt. He interrupted the guest's jabbering, cutting him off before he could say too much more. "Consider your wish granted, I will not protect your Mistress and acknowledge that she is capable of looking after herself."

Genkaku's brain was on the verge of exploding. His desire to protect his Goddess was clashing with his desire to worship her - he couldn't request a favour from this deity without putting Paranesia in a less than glorious light. "You have definitely noticed what happened to Au'Marui, the Dark Psycho, yes? You would not be a very clever God if you didn't." "I didn't know him, but he seems to be gone if that's what you mean." Noten responded. "Yes, well... My Mistress is not one to divulge her plans to such lowly servants as I, and whilst I am certain that she has everything under control and that there is no way that she could ever make any kind of mistake ever-" "Genkaku, worshipper of Paranesia, the Goddess of Illusion, requests that Noten, the God of Nothing, will offer his services and protect Paranesia from harm without her notice." Tengu interrupted, sick of Genkaku's idiotic rambling. She clearly didn't like him, and wanted to get him out of here as soon as possible.

"How is it that you know my worshipper, Genkaku?" Noten asked, wanting to sate his curiosity before considering such an offer. It seemed strange for the otherwise unemotional Tengu to be so irate. "She is one of the unfaithful. She is from my world, the same species as I. There was a time when Paranesia ruled over us all, and we worshipped her happily, though one day she left us. Some of us realized that this was merely a test, but the unfaithful lost sight of true greatness and sought other deities to worship." Genkaku said as he frowned in disapproval. "I see." Noten replied, nodding. "I shall oblige you for the time being and monitor your Goddess."

The God then disappeared, leaving Tengu and Genkaku by themselves. "You realize that putting those two together is like mixing oil and water? It will be impossible for one to not notice the other." "More like mixing wonderfully delicious holy water and filthy gross stink-oil." Genkaku laughed childishly as he ran out the door to the temple.

------------------------------------

Noten slunk about the Dojo as he searched for Paranesia, having no clue where to find her. It didn't take him long to realize that it was pointless to look for her like this, so he mentally located Genkaku and began to follow him, assuming that the worshipper would surely go to find his Goddess soon enough.

Genkaku skipped through the Black Forest in a way that seemed pretty weird for a guy his age and build, making his way to Paranesia's lair inside the Corrupted Cave. He was not aware that Noten was following him, and he sang a song about the many hundreds of reasons why he thought Paranesia was great as he went.

The rain from the world that wept for it's lost master disappeared completely as it hit Noten, making him partially visible to anybody paying close enough attention.

Wearing a black suit jacket with a stick of pocky protruding from the breast pocket, Addman passed Holloweyes as the Parasitian left the side of the coffin. The muppet's gaze met his comrade, and depicted a great saddness from within. For the time in his life, Addman realised that he was grieving. Not the type of grieving when he stepped on a cookie either, a deep emptiness which only loosing someone can leave behind.

Such emotions had always been a sign of weakness to the muppet, and he genuinely cared very little for most of the people he had come across in his life. But something here was different. It occured to Addman there and then that he actually liked DP.

Confused by the way he was feeling, Addman felt conflicted. On one hand, the passing of DP meant that the precious Dojo was at the mercy of the Evil Council, and he'd already picked out the colours he wanted to decorate his throne room, but it almost felt like the end of an era.

The puppet left Holloweyes without saying a word and approached the coffin. He politely waited for the current mourner to pay their respects ((Lilic)), which was a first for this impertinent creature, then stepped towards the open coffin once it was his turn.

Seeing DP lying there, motionless, was almost too much to bear. In a moment, memories flashed by of his early days of the Council, when DP was headmaster. He remembered the time the two of them had put together a perpetual Cornelius killing machine, the time they had all gathered round and cracked some pocky stick to celebrate another successful year of evil, and the advice DP gave to him upon his appointment to SiC ("Never touch the stuff in my lab, because I'll find out!").

Seeing as the others had spoken to DP, Addman also felt he should say a few words, but none came to mind. He stared for a few seconds, unable to muster up the appropriate language to express himself fully, afraid it wouldn't be poetic or profound enough when paying respects to a deceased friend.

Patting the pocket of his suit jacket which was borrowed from Fort's wardrobe that very morning, he located the present he intended to give to him out of respect. Reaching into his pocket, he grasped the last cookie from a packet of his favourite brand, and retrieved it. He placed the snack squarely upon DP's chest, and closed his eyes as he did so. Never before had Addman given away his last cookie, and it would probably never happen again in his lifetime.

With this, he stepped down from the platform and turned away from the coffin. His eyes averted upwards towards the sky, as though he expected DP to be up there somewhere looking back at him. Addman wasn't sure if this was the case, but he was sure that this was a dark day for the dojo.

Fort frowned, DP gone? No. Can't happen, wouldn't happen. Then again, the grandé psycho did have enemies, surely someone as powerful as DP would have enemies. The Light Psycho - why it seemed only yesterday Fort shared a common enemy with the God of Insanity. And while Blackstar's social structure was designed on complete imbalance and - No. DP would have prepared for his passing - surely, prepared something to keep Blackstar safe, did DP have a successor? Did he ever name a successor?
The Demon Headmaster sat there in stunned shock, realising he was completely unprepared for this moment - and so was the rest of Blackstar. Feudal groups were already moving in for the kill, Blackstar would fall apart unless everyone came to some form of an agreement, or if DP had named someone to take his place, there was always hope he would have chosen a successor.
There was a faint "Oook" and a Monkey came and rested a paw on Fort's shoulder.
"Yes Bob," Fort nodded sagely, "we are in trouble."
"Oook."
"Buggered if know."

***

Fort sat there uncomfortably in a crumpled Pin-stripe suit and bowler hat, the only items of clothing he could come up with on such short notice - unless he wore Addman's I.O.U as a fig leaf.
He kept his head low and dared not make eye contact with the more ambitious of the attendants - there was no logical reason why, but he thought it better to keep a low profile. But still...The Sensei gone? Fort looked up for a moment, and sat bolt upright in complete rigid shock - there, standing over the coffin was his alternate self: Hunter. The creature from the alternate dimension long ago that he and DP had banished, of course he couldn't be dancing around DP's coffin merrily, it was Fort's broken mentality playing tricks on him...wasn't it? After all, everyone else had failed to notice.
Fort shifted uncomfortably, and a thought crossed his mind as he began to think of events long ago, "What has happened" he wondered to himself, "to the Light Psycho? - one can not exist without the other."

A familiar face stepped up to the coffin, a paper grocery bag at her side.

"So... It really happened, eh?"

Panther managed a weak smile. It's not like you're going to answer me anyway...

"I really hope you deities have some sort of afterlife prepared... It's going to be a hell of a ride after this funeral is over, you know what I mean?" The shapeshifter brushed off her black suit, white gloved hands only picking up the dust themselves. "You'd really want to see it."

"I... I've got something you probably wouldn't want if you were living..." She held up the grocery bag and placed it in the coffin, near the feet. "It's all the slash stories I've written that involve you. You probably wouldn't want to read them, but I can't really bear to look at them..." Pan chuckled weakly. "And, y'know, you're not supposed to speak ill of the dead."

"I can't help but wonder... Where did Ajaxon go? He was your successor, wasn't he? Or... Was he the one that did this? Ah, I should really stop watching those crime dramas..." She shook her head dismissively. "Ah, well, I'll give others their turn now. Thanks for everything, Au'Marui."

The changeling sighed and stepped back to her spot in the 'audience', if you could call it that. A dead person doesn't make much in the way of entertainment.

"Weren't you going to go next?"

"No... I can't stand to see him like this." A middle-aged, blue-haired woman replied. Her attire was the same as Pan's, except for the pocky in her breast pocket.

"What about the kid?"

Pan gestured to a copper-haired kid beside the woman.

"Supaiku didn't know him very well. Plus... He's just a kid."

"...Right. Where's everybody else? Rushing off to plan their own invasion?"

"Probably."

Danikat sat towards the back of the funeral watching the proccedings, although her mind was more on her own thoughts.

She still wasn't sure how she felt about all of this, it was hard to take it all in really. Like the others she had never believed DP, Au'Marui, could really die. Death was so rarely permenant in this place and for a god to die...well, it was unthinkable.
And that was just a thin crust of confusion on top of the maelstrom of emotions she felt at the idea that she might never see DP again.

He wasn't exactly what she would call a friend. They'd never quite seen eye to eye and had been enemies more often than not but that didn't mean she hated him. Distrusted him yes, feared him...occasionally, but she had also respected him, both for his skill as a fighter and leader and simply for the way he stuck to his convictions always supported his people and his allies. Those were traits to be admired in anyone.

But more importantly no matter how she felt about him one thing was certian: for a very long time, ever since she had come to these worlds, DP had been one of very few constants in a life of instability and continual change and good or bad Danikat had learned to value those constants.
Looking around she realised it was quite possible she had known DP longer than most of the others here. She wasn't sure about some of the Psychotopians, that was a side of his life he had kept quite for a long time, but she remembered him back before he even ascended to spirit-hood, back when he had been little more than a man. The thought, her own memories, seemed so strange now.

She didn't get up. Given the confusion of thoughts and feelings inside her she couldn't imagine what she would say to the man in the coffin, and besides she had always hated dead bodies.
Instead she stayed in her seat and simply whispered "Goodbye DP." It was the only words that seemed to fit.

Cirrial, somewhere in the middle of the proceedings, didn't worry about why he came here, or any reason. He tended to just appear in interesting times, as if it was part of his very soul. As water flows to the oceans, as he flowed to interesting times.

And the death of a god would qualify as interesting times, that could be said.

He rises out of his seat, his ever swirling liquid form somewhat subdued, slightly tepid. He'd never even know DP. Never even seen him. He hadn't even been here for the length most of the mourners had. They had reason to grieve.

But the loss of DP had hit him too. His last stay at the Dojo had been mostly uneventful, but a pleasant one. But the pleasantries seemed to die with DP. Even the water mourned him as it fell from the grey skies. The water of Blackstar that he had once been a part of, however briefly.

Perhaps that was it. Perhaps his stay had made him more a part of the world than he realised.

He stands next to the coffin. His ear-analogous tendrils, rather than waving dreamily in the air, hang low, making quiet circles. "I never met you. You never met me. Yet, for all of the realms I have travelled to, for what little time I spent here under your careful reign, it's as if you've taken a part of me with you to oblivion."

Perhaps it was because the death of DP reminded him of something he never cared to think of. Cirrial was immortal, as water does not age, but not invulnerable, and the concept of the death of the self to him wasn't as acceptable a concept as to mortals. Yet here was a god, not just any false god like so many he had encountered, but the God of Insanity. The creator of this very world he now stood. The creator of this haven.

And if his hundreds of years of life had told him anything, Cirrial knew most worlds so strongly tied to their creators in this way began to crumble, as if dying with them. He had been there for the collapses.

"You can't hear me, nor can you respond. But if anyone could tell me... anyone... how can we save this world?"

When Fade heard about the news, the first thing she did was frown. It was impossible, surely, for a God to die? The assassins coldly logical mind would not accept this ludicrous piece of information.

Of course, it was true, as Fade found herself sitting in among the crowd that had shown up for his funeral. She did not wear her usual blue however, the mutant had turned up clad in black. Being an assassin, Fade didn't usually turn up for funerals as ones she knew of were often due to her own handiwork. But it seemed respectful to dress that way, and she believed this to be even more relevant when it came to the death of the being who'd created this realm.

The womans droning on caused Fade to think of the fact that she knew very little about him, except for the information she'd found contained in the Councils databases, and the fact that he'd left this same organisation shortly before she'd joined.

When it finally came to the time to view the body, say your last goodbyes and all that the assassin simply stood and stared at the motionless corpse. She had dealt in death almost all her life but something still rang wrong about this one, even in her mind.

"We never did finish that fight"

She finally said, recalling the one and only time she'd met him. In a forest in a rather bizarre tournament she had been paid a lot to be a part of. The assassin simply left it at that.

((I'm gonna do a separate one for the Dark Fire Dragons, as I'm running out of time and they owe DP a lot))

On the horizon large metallic taps could be heard, slowly these taps became thumps, and then crashes! The silhouette of a rapidly approaching metal spider could be seen, bumping rashly into anything that lay in its chaotic path. A flurry of confusion could be seen going through the crowd as the dented monstrosity of the Doctor Duo rushed towards the funeral, and then suddenly - abruptly stopped with the precision of a twenty second century gyroscope.

The spider loomed there, swaying slightly on those tall bent legs - and then a single figure emerged hastily from the top of the synthetic arachnid to greet the crowd on a rather brash intrusion.

Dr. Aldric grinned at the crowd, and made a show of bowing before throwing a bucket of bolts roughly at the corpse of the psycho, “Alas!” the Doctor announced, “the great defender of the Dojo is dead, I would be more ceremonious but, my ship’s provisions don’t allow for much diversity,” the doctor cackled insanely, “People of Blackstar! Uncertainty is at hand: and we are at the forefront!”

The infamous, charming and charismatic doctor shuffled hurriedly into his treadless tank. There was stunned silence, and the bot lurched directly towards the ground with a tremendous clamour, squatting to bring its body closer to the ground. The entire belly of the monstrosity opened up, and rows of storage racks slid to the ground like an accordion. Off of each row stepped a squad of humanoid robots, each armed with a generic plasma rifle, cumbersome in appearance.

In no time at all, a force of nearly five hundred robots had been deployed, all of which proceeded swiftly to spread out in all directions. The frontrunners in the assault opened fire upon fleeing Psychotopian citizens, their blue projectiles flying incoherently and randomly, blowing sizable holes in their targets...only actually hitting them only once in a blue moon.

A small contingent of the invasion force, about fifty strong, charged furiously into the funeral site, their weapons blasting away wildly at all present, but the shots seeming so inaccurate its as if they weren’t even trying to hit anyone.

Deep below Blackstars ground, in the subterranean levels where rivers of lava coursed through the crust a race of dragons dwelt. The Dark Fire Dragons did not trouble the surface world. It was the agreement between them when Au'Marui had agreed to bring them here, that they take care of themselves. There was only the one time that they couldn't, and the creature that had plagued them had not been seen since.

One of their number and one only constantly made a nuisance of himself above, but he was now outcast from the whole for wanting to help the faction he'd joined take over this realm.

Now, the hated one brought them news.

~Au'Marui is dead~

Furnaces thought voice rang in the heads of the entire colony, passed around and echoed until the scale of what had just been said had sunk in. Even the blind seer, Coro, stopped what he was doing and visibly paid attention.

~His funeral is in half an hour. I am not going~

The Evil Council members thought voice once again rang through, the connection between his mind and his kin’s was quickly cut off by the two Elders and blocked before the spiteful youngling could say anything else.
_____________________________________________________________
Later, a young dragon barely the height of a small horse walked forlornly towards the area the funeral was to take place in. Obviously Ebony and Inferno could not attend due to their sheer bulk, but Redwing had been selected to relay the proceedings to the rest of his kin via their shared link. In essence, he was here to represent every Dark Fire Dragon that now lived here.

The youngling, barely one hundred years old was but a child by their standards, yet he was still old enough to both understand death and what the God of Insanity had done for them. He was also small enough to attend without causing the other mourners too much discomfort whilst they all sat through the proceedings. After he was done with this he'd join the others for their own ritual.

But as Redwing joined the queue to look at the body, some disrespectful softskin showed up, threw something at Au'Maruis body and then proceeded to attack everyone. The youngling roared at them as the fury of every Dark Fire Dragon who'd been watching below them hit his mind with a force he'd never thought could exist. He couldn't stop himself as he bellowed in rage at the machines, opened his mouth and spat a small fireball at one of the robots, the flames still hot enough to melt rock.

Then both Ebony and Infernos mind-voices bellowed loudly to anyone who could hear them, though they were specifically aimed at the Doctor.

~How dare you disrupt Au'Maruis funeral!~
