“Sir. . . I’ve detected a small object, about 1000 meters out, moving pretty fast,” a crewman aboard the CSS reported to his watch officer.
“A meteorite, perhaps?” asked the officer, peering over the crewman’s shoulder at the display.
“I don’t know, sir. It just…appeared. Could be a meteorite, or just a piece of space junk. But whatever it is, it’s heading straight for us.”
“It looks pretty small. I don’t think it poses a threat to the Station,” he took a sip from the coffee mug in his hand and continued, “Inform the crew in the Docking Bay they’re in for a bang, but it shouldn’t cause any damage.” The watch officer yawned, and returned to his seat in the center of the Bridge; the night watch was always dull, with the majority of the crew either asleep or on the planet. ‘It’s a miracle the crewman manning Sensors had even noticed the miniscule blip at all. . .’ the officer thought to himself.

Moments later, a resounding metallic clang reverberated about the hollow Docking Bay, just as the watch officer had predicted. The few crewmembers in the docking bay ignored it and continued with their work, performing the menial maintenance tasks needed to keep the CSS running.
-------------
Moments earlier, in the vacuum of space. . .

A small rift tore open, discreet and undetected about 1000 meters from the CSS. From the portal shot an oval-shaped, metallic object, no larger than a small dog. Sunlight reflected off its shiny, polished surface as it zoomed for the Orbital, mistaken for a harmless meteor by its size and shape, it was designed that way. The inanimate object began to stir from a long trek through the warp suspended in perpetual static sleep, lines of computer code began to fire up in circuitry within.

CSS Detected: 900 meters and closing
Primary Objective:

  1. Infiltrate CSS
  2. Infiltrate Life Support Control
  3. Inject sleep-inducing agent into circulation system

BANG! Despite impacting the hull of the CSS at high speed, the object stuck to the ship like a magnet. Various hatches began to broach all over the pill-shaped object, breaking apart the seamless structure like an oppressive egg hatching, heralding destruction. Out of the sides, three pairs of legs sprouted, and emerging from the top: one diamond shaped box; upon this box small green lenses spun as cameras of different sizes and uses began to refocus and calculate. The droid had transformed to resemble an insect, hatching from a featureless oval, all had gone according to plan.

The droid’s swiveled its head in a full 360 degrees to get its bearings, proceeding to scuttle silently along the hull of the CSS, magnetic feet kept the infiltration-bot firmly planted on the Space Station as it made its way along in eerie silence.

The droid’s front leg promptly rearranged itself and revealed a cutting torch that had been built into its design, with a flicker of a blue flame within the vacuum of space; it began slicing into the skin of the orbital. Atmosphere began to vent into space, and before long the bot had cut a breach large enough to fit through. Through the gap the droid poked its head in, and peered around before clambering inside and dropping to the floor. The CSS had been infiltrated.
The droid swiveled, and scurried to a large metal pipe running across the back wall, the tapping of metal resounding around the silent engine room as the robot approached its target.
The lights dimmed then turned red, noise blared across the ship as the warning beacon was sounded; the infiltrator calculated through its super-AI it’d have to work fast. The speed of it’s matchstick-thin legs increased as the droid picked up it’s pace.
The bot positioned itself upon the pipe, and began to vibrate violently as a strange ambience took the air around it.
Synthetic Telekinetic process activated.
With a rush of pressurized air, the maintenance hatch upon the pipe shot off violently, and the droid collapsed ungracefully into the opening; the artificial telekinesis was a powerful technology, and very taxing on the infiltrator’s limited energy reserves. With a whiirrr the hatch slowly closed and the automatic locks fitted into place with a resounding click, despite the alarms the room was eerily silent.

-------

“Any word on that loss of pressure?” the officer shouted over the din.
“Nothing sir,” the subordinate replied hurriedly, “it’s definitely an infiltration –” the subordinate was cut-off by the speakers.
“Sir we found the disturbance,” came the intercom, “it’s a neat hole, ‘bout the size of my head, slightly melted round the edges.”
The officer gritted his teeth, “DAMN IT! Search the surrounding area! I want feedback!”
-------
The crew’s efforts to secure the surrounding area were futile; even if they were to locate the bot now, it was in the final stage of its mission. If it worked quickly before it could be detected in the air duct, nothing would be able to prevent it from completing its task. As infiltrator lay in a slump in the air duct, a final hatch on its topside opened up, revealing its precious cargo: a small canister of highly pressurized and extremely potent sleeping gas. The canister shot from the hull of the robot like a wound spring, and clanked about noisily in the hollow circulation duct before settling. With a pop the gas began expelling into the ventilation system, spreading rapidly throughout all parts of the Space Station. The droid’s purpose was fulfilled, and with its last moments of battery life it executed a final command: self-destruct. A flash of light and sparks shot from every opening on the infiltrator’s exterior, its hardware and inner workings fried to ensure the technology would not fall into enemy hands.

------
“Hey, you hear that noise?” the crewman’s voice was muffled as he spoke to the man next to him, forgetting to take his finger off the transmit button.
“Yeah, yeah that’s it!” His voice was clearer as he now transmitted to the Bridge, “Sir, we’ve found it. It’s in the ventilation shaft!”
“Damn! Don’t let it escape! Seal off that section, NOW!” the watch officer barked to the crewmember manning Environmental Controls, spilling his coffee from all the commotion. The man nodded to the watch officer and frantically submitted the command into his console, sealing off all escape routes from the droids location.
Yet it was too late. The robot never had any intention of escaping, and even now the gas was fully circulated around the station. The crew of the CSS was quickly subdued by the fumes, falling unconscious one by one and never realizing the droid’s purpose until it was too late. The officer, opened his mouth in a wide “o” shape of surprise, but a sound never passed his lips, he slumped down across his chair like a lifeless ragdoll. The CSS became eerily silent, the hum of electronics the only sound to be heard. . .

((Bwahahahahaaa! The CSS is now under our control, puny denizens of the Dojo! Ohhh…was that too powerplayish for you? Oh please, spare us your ramblings about the rules of freeform roleplaying. We are not fools, and are well-versed in your local roleplaying etiquette. So don’t be alarmed, we took it upon ourselves to gain permission from your resident Coolpikaaa before proceeding.))

There was another rift, simultaneous to the first - and another cylindrical object merged into existence on the opposite side of the Dojo. A speck in the sky on a grim day, the shape grew in size, falling directly towards the planet in a blazing inferno.
A hum that gradually got louder and more deafening resounded in the air, a deep vibration could be felt as the object - now massive in size - filled up the view in fearful majesty.
The clamor reached its peak, while the sky was burning before the gargantuan monolith. There were a few moments of time in standstill, before the unavoidable impact threw up trees and mud, shattered rocks outwardly in a fearful roar. A smell of burning ash was evident after a few moments of vociferous calm.
The once-smooth metal monstrosity was covered in dents and cracks, with no heed for a soft landing, it didn’t need one.
There was a slight shuddering, and spindly legs as thick as tree trunks rose the Scientist’s Dojo based HQ from the ground.

------

Inside the control room, a lone scientist stood, his shiny black gloves playing with a complicated array of controls, his green goggles flashing with an ecstasy of madness.
“People of Blackstar,” Dr. Aldric whispered, “you have been invaded.”

The Giant Robotic HQ scuttled off towards Dojopolis to the fanfare of cackled mad laughter, destroying the landscape as it went.

"Oh come on now, an invasion? REALLY? That's reeeeally original," Goron piped up at the giant metal monstrosity. He was out for a morning walk, and the crashing robot had almost killed him on impact. It was only for a conveniently-placed rock that Goron was still breathing at all, and for some reason, he was angry as hell.

"I mean, do you fools have the slightest idea of how many people have done exactly this with no success whatsoever?" Goron shouted at the robot. It seemed to not hear him and began clinking towards Dojopolis.

"Hey! Don't you walk away while I'm talking to you!" Goron raged rather futilely at it.

"Beep beep beep beep..."

"...Go away, I'm sleeping."

"Bee-But it's import-"

"I'M SLEEPING!"

"..."

"Fine, I'm up." Coolpikaaa said, wearily dragging his body out from under the blankets."You are the most annoying robot ever."

"Thank-you!"

"Wasn't a compl-Whatever. Whats up?"

It was dark in the captain's quarters. The only light came from distant stars, lightyears away, not having a care in the world. Not being woken up in the middle of the night...

"Something hit the wall. It scared me."

"Scared you?" Coolpikaaa looked in what he thought was the direction of the robot.Coolpikaaa paused for a second, then changed his tone to a softer one."It was probably nothing, we should go back to sleep. Besides we have the whole crew to protect us.They won't let anything happen to you."

"Promise?"

"Yeah."

Suddenly the room was ablaze with red flashing light, and a loud siren.Coolpikaaa hopped out of bed and made his way to the door.

"You said nothing would happen!"

"Shh..."

Coolpikaaa pressed his ear to the door.It was quiet, then a sound as if many people tripped at once.Coolpikaaa suddenly felt so lightheaded. His eyes darted across the room and rested on the air vent.

"Oh..."
Then nothing.

---
Pika-bot
---
"Promise?"Pika-bot let that word slip out his speakers without thinking about it. The whole conversation now felt like he was being whiny. A whiny robot.
Great.

"Yeah."

Pika-bot realized right there that even though he was just a machine, him and coolpikaaa had quite a strong bond.
It made him feel good.

But all that changed when everything turned red and a loud noise spread around the room.Again he let something slip out. This time he actually and truly was scared. His owner looked around the room, and pressed his ear against the door. Then all of the sudden he turned and looked at the air vent.

And fell.

Pika-bot didn't make it in time to save his owner. There was the tinkle of glass as the yellow, orange in the light, frame fell sideways into a small table.Pika-bot floated over in a rush, nudging his master to get up.For some reason he didn't move.Pika-bot knew he was alive, as he was breathing, slowly though, as if he was sleeping again.Thinking just that, pika-bot whipped on his trusty alarm clock imatation.Failing again, Pika-bot glided over to the door and poked himself out, hoping to find anyone to help.

But they were all asleep too.

Tetsu-ko
---
Tetsu was relaxing in the pocket forest once again. The hydroponics bay had become like a second home to her, a home in space that was quiet, and allowed her to think.Whatever critters where in the tree above her sang a happy song.A song that was rapidly starting to sound like alarm bells...

The dragon opened one eye. They where alarm bells! She got up in a rush, but for some reason her body just didn't want to move. It was sleepy, despite tha fact she had felt alert just a moment ago.

"There's something in the air!"her rapidly slowing brain cried out.She rushed forward, raming right into the heavy metal doors of the hydroponics bay.She had to get out, but it was no use. Claws scraping across the steel, Tetsu-ko the dragon fell asleep.

Kazumaru had been on the bridge at the time of the gassing. The klaxons and flashing red lights had been activated, and the people around him were collapsing into a deep sleep. His mind recalled the many movies similar to this he'd seen, and he himself began to drift off. Before he did, however, he managed to mutter four words.

"Sentinel... Release... The... Bots."

Several hundred kilometers below the station, right near Kazumaru's lab, three mechanical figures rose from the ground...

A figure had been waiting. Been watching. There had been such suspicious activity, and it'd been waiting all this time, observing calmly. Evading detection by something likely to have another power to destroy the observer a few hundreds of times over. The radar cloaking technology it possessed was awfully crude but seemed to do some good.

Then, one day, the entity began to feel its observations were just a massive waste of time - maybe a massive suspicious metal cylinder was JUST a massive suspicious cylinder, after all.

Then the observer was proven wrong. A safe distance of a few miles away, the cylinder seemed to explode with activity, rising up on spindly legs with masses of greeblies and nurnies covering its surface.

[ Helloooo trouble. Looks like our pointless self-imposed mission didn't turn out to be so pointless after all- Oh, crap, it's heading straight for us! ]

I do have eyes, y'know! Why can't you move us out of the way? You're the damn AI!

The metallic flurry of mayhem scrambled towards the observers, unfortunately in the direct line between it and civilisation.

And now, it's just spoken to the populace. The observer, Naine, and his onboard AI, Goldie, both stare at the rampaging... thing.

[ Hey. Naine. Invasion. Bad, right? Something people don't really want to happen. Ergo, if we tackle this problem, maybe we can finally, I dunno, get some money for supplies and better stuff? START MOVING, FLIPPER. ]

...Oh, I'm sorry, I was too busy being awestruck by the massive metal thing. Seriously, if this tin can was half as awesome as that, I'd quit the whole pursuit of justice thing and spend the rest of my days- Oh, right, right, the whole chasing thing.

Naine looks around and engages the exobody's jet systems. The exobody chases behind the ambling lair of Dr. Aldric, the whine of engines powering up as the exobody exits a conventional run and begins a jet-propelled series of leaps, desperately trying to pursue his newfound quarry.

[ And while you chase that lucrative opportunity to save the day, I'll just do a little recon myself. ]

With that, several locks and clamps disengage on the back of the exobody while it's in motion. A golden octahedron followed by a mass of black, shiny tendrils launches out of the exobody, which then reseals the cavity.

Goldie lands on some ravaged ground while Naine chases after the lair. It looks to the skies with its sole optical disk. [ Huh. Not a single cloud in sight. Well, that sure was a productive decoupling from the exobody. ]

((I am going to put this in my personal timeline after "Arriving On The Station"... which means T'Parr (due to arrive soon) is already here. And I is now going to screw with your sleeping gas lol.))

~~T'Parr~~
T'Parr was mildly surprised when all of her staff suddenly fell asleep, but the slightest change in scent soon told her why.
Logically, I can only infer that this is the work of sleeping gas. So why am I not affected? she thought as she crept out of the room. A number of possible conclusions exist - differences in anatomy, different blood-bases... it is something I will need to look into, later.
T'Parr grabbed a sample of the air on her way out and slowly started to creep along the hallway, ready to perform the nerve pinch on anyone who stubled across her, her phaser ready in case it was not a person.
