I took this test last time it was posted here and I can't remember what I got but I know for a fact Danikat is a Mary-Sue.
Firstly she was based a bit on me and a bit on Danielle who is my character for RPG's where you're supposed to be the person who suddenly appears and fufills the prophecy, or at least solves everyones problems for you.
For another thing I originally started developing Danikat back in the early days of CC RP's when everyone had super powerful characters with all kinds of crazy and random powers.
But I don't think it tends to be a problem. With RP's the only actual problem with Mary-Sues is power-playing, and that doesn't seem to happen much around here. _________________ Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to decieve ~ Sir Walter Scott

I got 37, although a few of those were from things like 'Can your character play a musical instrument really well?' (Face it, none can resist Net's awesome Guitar-solo-on-a-banjo). _________________
Bah, Give me 2 days and a load of napalm...
The other problem with this test is the number of things that depend on comparing your chracter to whats normal for their world. I don't think the word normal exists in Blackstar.
Took the test again because I couldn't find the other topic with the test in, and Danikat's been re-worked since then anyway.
I'm a bit annoyed that I had to tick the box about being openly defiant to superiors just because DP is technically in charge of this place. And I notice theres no coresponding box to allow for the fact that it could be because the authority figure has tried to kill them.
On a related note I'm also tempted to tick the 'Does a major villan have a fixation with your character for no apparent reason?' box because I can't remember why DP started wanting to kill Danikat in the first place.
Also there weren't enough pets boxes to account for all the armadillos.
And the family section is very hard to answer for reasons which are yet to become clear.
And personally I think the 'Has your character ever run away from anything because they were honestly scared?' question needs a corresponding 'Have they ever put themselves in excessive or unnessary danger by refusing to run away?' question. Because not being afraid is not always a good thing.
In the end I got 37, which is better than I was expecting. _________________ Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to decieve ~ Sir Walter Scott

So far I've done five characters (of which three are in Blackstar, two in nothing. I may or may not use the other characters in something/anything)
Kuki - 25
Rose - 8
The Plexus - Anywhere between 2 - 12 (Due to its incredible speed and ability to transform into a cruise ship. On the other hand having no brain makes a lot of things harder to answer, so it could be anywhere within that range)
Wing Commander Samuel Waltz (A pilot who thinks it's still the 1920s) - 4
William Robert Joe (Or to everyone who knows him, Billy-Bob. A scruffy, overweight, ugly, hairy, inbred, ugly hairy fat person with no skills at all.) - -10 _________________ ...And that's how it ended. |

The test is less about the character than it is about how you play them. Naturally, if your character is a talented marksman, that counts against you, but if you use that all the time to get out of every situation, that's what makes your character a Mary Sue. _________________ Abidusray: Insane, teleporting, haikuing human in a suit.

Danikat, DP tried to kill your character because she ordered her WMD to put out his forest fire. _________________

Oh yeah, of course she did.
I still maintain that was a gross over reaction. _________________ Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to decieve ~ Sir Walter Scott

And I maintain that you don't think like DP - I don't even think like DP, and I hope I never do _________________

Nor do I. My characters just act nice around him so they don't get put in the deep fryer.
Oh, and I score about 9 on the Marty Sue/ marty Stu thing. Beat THAT! _________________ "The tragedy of Canada is that it could have had British culture, French cuisine and American technology. Hmm...you may be onto something there.
I get worried enough when I find myself thinking like Danikat. Although it couldn't hurt for me to be the one who just gets on and does things instead of waiting for them to sort themselves out.

Hmmm, interesting. Fade got a 10, probably 'cause I've developed her a bit since last time. I remember posting something similar to this before, but it looks like it got refined quite a bit.
It should be even more interesting to see how Lykaios and Furnace score
EDIT: Lykaios - 22, Sue-Like tendencies... on the lower end of the scale O_o. I was actually expecting higher than that, it's kinda good to know he isn't where I was afraid he would be. _________________ Baker of the radioactive three-eyed flying purple cookie eating brownies!
