The wind wisps across the icy plains, and it sends a shiver down Goron's spine. Why they had picked the Tundra as a place for their fortress was angering to him. This was only slightly more angering than the fact that he had picked it. The skies were exceptionally clear this morning, adding the the low temperatures. The metal on his carbine had long ago frosted, and Goron found his gloves sticking to the icy steel. Ghosts of snow rose and fell on the seemingly empty plains. The Citadel stuck up as a beacon above the snows.

Any normal person would have sought refuge inside the heated castle of steel and titanium. Indeed Goron was no normal person, but he lingered outside for another reason. A more important reason. It was his turn to watch.

"Why the hell would anyone attack this place anyways?" he conversed with himself to keep warm, "It's so cold up here that anyone would freeze solid trying to get near."

Using the digital zoom built into his helmet, Goron once again scanned the horizon, looking for the unlikely traveler.

((Do we need someone to judge this... or we can just call each other on powerplays and fight to the death?))

Whiteoak and a fresh group of Security Penguins came out of the Citadel's main front door, pulling it mostly closed behind him leaving a couple of door guards watching it. The penguins, armed with their ion rifles went in small groups to relieve their replacements.

Whiteoak, carrying his mug of hot chocolate, approached the place where he had understood he would find Goron, but Goron wasn't there. Through his communicator Whiteoak called back to the Citadel:

"This is Whiteoak, is Goron there? Goron, come back, you there? where are you? Has anyone seen Goron? There may be a problem out here. Penguins: how are your replacements? Is everyone in place?"

He scanned the desolate surroundings, half expecting just to spot Goron behind some dune, peeing. But, no Goron in sight.

"Someone! Talk to me!"

"I would tell you to chill out man, but I'll skip the hypothermia pun on the count of it being so damned cold. I'm on the Western Wall. Up here."

Goron's waved to his confused comrade. The cold was starting to make them delirious. He keyed his radio again.

"And I'm sure as hell not doing a patrol of the Tundra without a Puma, a heavy fur coat, and possibly some of your cocoa. Until I have my demands, I'll be doing my patrol from these here walls."

Goron returned to hugging himself to keep warm and continued his frozen parade around the rim of the Citadel.

"OK, you be on watch up there, and I'll take the watch down here."

said Whiteoak to Goron through the communicator,

"Keep an eye out for those Polar Bears, they've turned nasty. They've actually eaten several of our Security Penguins who were ambushed on patrol recently." he added.

Changing the subject, he continued:
"Hey, I got a post card from Obed, he's down south on a technology and information exchange with the Drazillim. He says he is enjoying the heat, he just had to rub it in. So, what can you tell from up there, are there any storms coming our way?"

Lunagon looked through a window inside the Citadel, examining the icy tundra ahead.

This was his first time here since first applying for membership. Right now, he was still a hopeful and not a true Guardian, and as far as he knew, if he should be a Guardian member or not was still being debated.

Since becoming a hopeful and arriving at the Citadel, he had some new pieces of equipment in addition to his short sword, his gunblade, his staff, and his carrying pouch. Around his right wrist was a GORON Wrist Console with a Shield Generator attachment he had bought before coming here. In addition, he also had a communicator which he had gotten at the door.

He thought about asking one of the other members about anything he could do, but decided against it. He still didn't know everyone here well, and for him, it was natural to be cautious.

For now, he continued watching the tundra from his post, waiting for a command.

HollowEyes lay silently in wait beneath the snow, smiling as he heard the loud crunching of many footsteps above him. It had taken him weeks to produce this many reflective water charms, but he was sure that it would be well worth it.

As if they hadn't been there moments earlier, the Council forces were suddenly visible on the Tundra - hundreds of grunts trudging through the snow, moving faster as they got closer to the Citadel. The freezing temperatures were working against them, as the frost had already begun forming on their faces and 'clothing', but from a distance this would look very natural. To prevent total freezing, HollowEyes had used the reflective water charms on several barrels of boiling water mixed with a healthy amount of anti-freeze.

Satisfied that his diversion would create the desired effect, HollowEyes pointed a three-bladed sword directly in front of him. Fire spewed out of the Tri-Blade of Flames as he continued on down his tunnel, hoping to remain hidden from the Guardians for as long as was necessary. The Tri-Blade being here was made possible by a little inspiration from Shine - HollowEyes had also been perfecting storage charms in preparation for this fight, and had a variety of weapons up his sleeves for whenever he needed them.

"Yes. I think there might be a blizzard... like now." Goron responded rather angrily, annoyed that he was stuck up here like a flag pole while Obed was enjoying himself so, "Oh watch your step down there, Whiteoak. You do remember what we did to that courtyard the other day, don't you?"

Goron made a pass through the gate house and stopped to look the infrared satellite scan of the tundra. Sipping from a mug of hot chocolate generated by the conveniently-placed hot drink maker, he pressed a series of buttons, and the heavy double gates gate below him creaked open. Still grumbling about the cold and now also about how the toilet was clogged, Goron made his way down one of the towers and out the gate to relieve himself outside.

"Damn... why can't I ever remember what the cursive G looks like?"Goron said, unzipping his pants and facing the wall. He was proud of his fully functioning prostate, which less than thirty seconds later had produced "Goron was here. If anyone has seen my shower sandels, could you please call 1-617-6" before he ran out.

"I'll finish it later," the clone said, satisfied. Goron returned in through the front gate and then chose a rather peculiar path across the courtyard to the door to the great hall. The courtyard whistled with wind through the open gate, sweeping up the snow. Halfway across, Goron stopped mid step as a small fragment of dark metal was revealed under his foot by a gust. Quickly covering it back up in a drift, Goron stepped over the mysterious object and to the front door.

"Come, Whiteoak. Let's get the hell out of this cold. Let the penguins watch for a bit."

A security penguin gave him the bird equivalent of the evil eye as Goron led Whiteoak inside.

Tetsu-ko the dragon flew a circle once more over the citadel.A cold wind whipped at her face, blowing snow into her eyes as she searched for other members.

A whirlwind of snow formed in front as her wings ripped through the blanket of powder. After being sure she wouldn't land on anyone,Tetsu made contact with the iced over tundra.

Coolpikaaa's pack lay slung over her long neck, it's contents donated to keep her safe as it's original owner was busy running the space station high above.

Sighing out a few sparks of electricity, she once again looked over the wasteland. She had honestly been expecting a bit more action...

((Frankly, I'd rather not know what Goron does with his prostate, although I must say I'd have expected you to take longer than thirty seconds <.<))

*Net slinked (or rather, attempted to slink, as the tunnel was a bit too cramped for anything but crawling or squatting) up behind 3kul, grinning.*

The battlemonkey armarda is in place, give the command and they'll coat this place with more fecal matter than one of Slugfoot's magic puddings.

HollowEyes felt a little queasy at the mention of one of Slugfoot's desserts, remembering the rather generous congratulatory 'fruit cake' she'd given him when he became S-i-C (it's nest is currently in his closet, so it's just as well that HollowEyes doesn't wear clothes too often).

"Yes, well, I suppose now is as good a time as any to start."

It was difficult to apply strategy to a group that thrived on chaos, and HollowEyes found it even more difficult to keep them in line now that it was his job to do so. So he'd come up with this kind of plan - use expendable units to cause as much chaos and confusion for the enemy as possible and allow the Council members to exploit that to find openings in their defenses. It wasn't so much telling them what to do as it was showing them what they could do, and though he hadn't been able to try it on a large scale battle like this before he believed that it would work out well for them.

"Alright, launch the signal for attack." He ordered into a small radio headset attached to his head.

A faint screaming could be heard, at first it seemed far, far away from the Guardian Citadel but it seemed to be getting closer by the second. Through the howling snow flew the Council's most pitiful member, screaming his lungs out as he saw that he was not far off from splattering across the front wall of the Citadel. Of course, the traditional signal was Cornelius being launched by a catapult, but the catapult was in the shop because it needed it's tires realigned or something, and they'd given the Council a courtesy cannon to use whilst they fixed it.

The water clone army charged towards the Citadel, the collective sound of their feet pounding hard against the ice rumbling like thunder across the tundra.

Lunagon was jostled out of his thoughts by a distant bang, a scream, than a splat.

Taking note of the fact the final splat was close to the window, he looked out to see an unfortunate person who's parts were splashed over the Citadel's outside wall. Shortly afterwards, the parts fell into the snow below, leaving behind bloody marks.

The half-vampire raised an eyebrow. If firing that person at the Citadel had been intended as an attack, it wasn't very effective.

As it turned out, it wasn't. Soon after the person had hit the wall, a rumbling sound that reminded Lunagon of thunder reached his ears. He turned out to face the tundra, and managed to pick out what looked like an army of figures charging towards the Citadel.

He wasted no time after seeing them-it was time to put his communicator to good use.

"The enemy approaches," he said to Goron, "Repeat. The Enemy approaches..."

Up above in the snowy sky was what could be described as a red and black mass, occasionally obscured by the falling snow, traveling towards the Guardians stronghold from a completely different direction to the grunts. It had been getting bigger up until the screams of Cornelius reached its ears, where it paused and hovered in the air.

'I should be close enough by now' the dragon thought to himself, lips pulled back in a savage grin over his dagger like fangs at the vision of the clones death his mind was supplying. He was close enough to see the Citadel, but not enough to see exactly what had happened, or even on the right side. This was exactly where he wanted to be.

Where snow met his hard black scales it settled only briefly before evaporating, and Furnace snorted in disgust 'I still hate the cold'

((Goron's DNA's been messed with Net. He isn't a standard human. Let's just leave it at that...))

Goron was already making his way back up the wall from inside the citadel when he got communication from Lunagon.

"I know," Goron murmured into the general Guardian com, "Nobody move. Lock down the interior doors, but don't touch the gate. Make certain they do not see you. Everyone to the second floor, find a tower preferably."

Goron reached the top of the steps, once again in the gatehouse. His hot chocolate sat on the table to the left of the controls, still steaming. Ignoring the incredibly tempting beverage, the clone deactivated the automated defenses before leaving the command center in favor of the nearby plasma battery tower.

The mounted weapons all around the Citadel noted the incoming hordes, but did not fire. They sat motionless in the cold, frozen sentries of an empty fortress.

((Note: Me and VW are going to corporate here Very Happy So don't be surprised when I give her character commands. Also, Kasrill's robotic pet Kzer-Za will be coming too. But he won't be fighting unless you attack him. You'll see why Wink ))

Kasrill trudged along the tundra, leading a massive beast to the battlefield with her. His master VW left on a expedition to mars, and left Brawn in care of the EC until her return. Kasrill became part of the EC a few days after VW left, and was assigned by Fort to take care of Brawn till his true owner came back. When war with the Guardians broke out, it was up to her to give orders to Brawn. She was nervous about this, trying to control a beast she doesnt have a remote control for. But, then again, the rewards will be great if the EC wins the war, so Kas trudges on.

She studied the notes left behind by VW. They were instructions on how to take care of her various creations. Now being at their destination, she gives Brawn her orders.

"Look"

Kasrill points at the Citadel, trying to avoid making it look like she was pointing at her allies.

"Attack the building"

Kzer-Za had a sense of freedom ever since Kasrill had to take care of that beast of burden. With Kasrill having her full attention on brawn, she had no time to control his behaviors. He liked this feeling. He followed Kasrill to the citadel to make her feel assured, but he wasn't there to protect her. He came to explore his freedom to the fullest, see how far he can go without being noticed. While Kasrill was giving orders, he sneaked away.

The robotic dragon left towards the east. This new environment amazed him. The rocky formations, the crystallized water hanging off of the ridges. The Snow was fascinating and all new to him. The trees were much different from the trees in the Black forest too. He snooped around some more, and found himself at a cave entrance. Kzer-Za relished over the idea of being his own being, living in the tundra, conquering all in his path.
He turned on the lights near his red eyes, and delve in.

((I think this is the longest and most described post I ever made Very Happy))

Whiteoak heard the commontion of the thundering herd, about the time he heard the splat of the body, he turned back and forth once looking at both situations, and was about to alert Goron, when he heard over the communicator:

Quote:
"The enemy approaches. Repeat. The Enemy approaches..."

Switching channels, he called to the head Security Penguin: "Call out all available fighters, form a line and hold it."

He turned around to go and see about the injured/splat person, kicking over his mug of hot chocolate in the process,
"damn"
he said to no one in particluar.

The person at the wall looked a horrible mess, massive bruises, and trauma, burn marks on his feet and legs, his right arm had snapped off on impact with the wall and lay a few meters from him. Bleeding profusely, he was still breathing, but with a deathly rattle.

Whiteoak thought he heard him say something that might have been, "freedom"

and then something that sounded almost like "asylum"

((Although they were most likely only the senseless dying gasps of a terminal man, Whiteoak would hear what he wanted to hear.))

Goodness welled up in Whiteoak's heart, this pitiable slave needs to be liberated from its oppressor, and then it occured to him...

Who would this particular person be?
The traditional signal of the start of hostilities,
The repeated cloning and killing of their special hapless victim..... ??

This must be CORNELIUS, If he could rescue and set free Cornelius it would truly be a strike for goodness everywhere, a beacon of hope for all to see.

but then it also occured to him this was probably going to be the only chance he would ever have of actually killing a Cornelius himself, such a thing had never been done.

Fast as a whirling dervish Whiteoak's staff twirls from the back carrying strap in it's masters hands, and slashes deftly such that the razor sharp blade end races towards Cornelius's jugular vien with frightening speed.

"It will realy be a mercy killing." rationalized Whiteoak, "He wouldn't have survived anyway, why prolong the suffering."
