Werecats are the feline version of werewolves- transforming into abnormally large cats during the full moon or possession. There are four common colors in the species, and can be spotted by the host’s hair tone. Grey, black, and shades of brown are the most common. White is very uncommon, but not necessarily ‘rare’. Rare pelt colors include anything and everything from green to crimson, but barely show in the host’s human form. Said person will only retain the pigment in their eyes. (ex. Purple werecat form, purple eyes.) The hair gains its color in this situation from the human genetics. (Because there is a fair amount of human genes exchanged, even in ‘purebred’ werecats.)

The werecat has its own consciousness intertwined with its host’s. This often leads to the person talking to him/herself, and are usually sent to mental institutions because of this. (Hence why werecats are more infrequent than werewolves.) The Cat (as it is commonly named) can influence their host’s actions to some degree, depending on the health of the person and how close to the full moon it is. The person’s mental stability also plays a part in this. Those of the weak-mind can find themselves nearly always being possessed by the Cat.

Werecat hosts have three basic forms they can call upon without being possessed, and are helpful in various situations.

Form 1: Host retains nearly all physical features, and grows two feline ears and a tail.

Form 2: Host retains almost all physical features, grows ears, tail, claws, fangs, and slitted eyes. Also known to be more ‘feline-like’ and exhibits the personality of a housecat.

Form 3: Host retains barely any human features. Grows ears, tail, claws, fangs, slitted eyes, and copious amounts of fur. Resembles an anthropomorphic cat at this stage and displays the persona of the previous form.

The last form is the most drastic- being changed into a lion-sized housecat with demon-like eyes and a bite to match. This is when the host gets pushed into the corners of his/her mind and can only watch as the Cat (usually) maims, rapes, and decapitates people at whim. If enough emotional strength is called upon (or the host has been a werecat for a long time) the host can override the Cat and control the monstrous form for him/herself.

There has been a war going on between vampires and werecreatures for centuries- no one knows how this feud began except the vampires and weres themselves…

You stole my idea.

I can't help but find it funny that KC11 accused you of 'stealing her idea' (pretty dumb accusation if you ask me, considering how generic the idea of were-cats is) over two months after you posted it (obviously she didn't miss it Wink), and then it takes you another seven months to notice her post Razz

I never would have even saw it if I hadn't gone back to go over the species guidelines for one of the rps...

So, uh, what exactly did I 'steal', KC11? (though I doubt you'll reply to this... xD )

*comes back*

Oh!

Well, the general idea of a werecat being a huge cat at the.... full moon, right? I wasn't trying to accuse you, nessecarilly (although I know it seemed to be worded as so) but I thought it was odd how both ideas were so similar.

Course, I didn't have the part about the werecats and the vamps on a war. Or there being two consciences.

Um...

Okay...

No, I don't see it.

If A) you link to the thread where she "stole" this from, and B) explains yourself a bit more than yelling theif, it would be helpful. But the way I see it, this is a normal extension of the Werewolf of mythos, therefore public domain.

I should also, once again, note that if you find something offensive and would like moderator or administrator review of a post, you should press the exclimation point at the top right corner of said post and fill out the form. It's a whole lot more civilized and tidy than these open accusations, and it gets my attention much much faster.

... As I said before, it's a bit of a baseless accusation considering that it's not exactly an original concept.
