Rosebarks Goes to the Dojo For Some Training

((Hey Rosebarks, excuse the outright powerplay here, to get things started. You can learn from my violations, we actually never say what someone elses character does, or how they are affected, we usually say what we did, and some indication of what the effect might be....
but I need to get things started, and I want to teach you some certain things in addition to the fighting practice you wanted))

Rosebarks is sitting on a bench in the Dojo training room. She has been told that she would meet her trainer here, but no one has come and it is past the time scheduled.

On old man in gray work dickies enters the room with pails of gardening and maintenance equipment.

"Hi, you must be Rosebarks, I'm supposed to tell you that your trainer will be late, and since you're here, I want you to help me put this chalk powder all around the room. We have to make a continuous line all around the room, especially at the door ways. Oh, and stay inside it and be careful not to track through the chalk powder"

She notices as the chalk line is poured, that insects walk up to the line, but will not cross it.

Mr Sanders sees her, looking at the bugs,
"They don't like the fine powder, it plugs up their vents and they can't breathe, so they won't cross it. Hey I got an idea, you stand there and imagine as vividly as you can a chalk circle all around you and picture blue flames rising in an invisible tube all around you. You want to give it a try?"

((Not a problem. I owe ya one Shine, thanks a lot ^_^ ^_^ And the Rose in here ain't my character Rose, two different people. Lol. ))

Rosebarks looks at him. "Sure, and you can just call me Rose for short, I feel much more comfortable using that" She said as she closed her eyes starting to visualize the chalk around her in the circle before she started to imagine hot blue flames coming up. "Why am I imagining this exactly sir?" She asked a bit curious. She was a weird one who could imagine while still talking.

"Oh, lets just see a few things first, perhaps it will become more clear, but basically I just want our bug-proofing to be more effective.

So, now, imagine the tube of blue flame rising out of the chalk circle closing in above and below you so you are inside a protective egg of blue flame energy. When that is very clearly in your mind, imagine little magic energy bugs floating through the air towards you. What would they do when they come into contact with the blue flames of the chalk energy? See it as vividly as you can, and describe it to me."




((OOC ?Do you think the imaginary energy bugs will want to touch the chalk energy any more than real bugs like real chalk?))

Lilic would have looked at him if her eyes weren't already closed imagining the flames being up. "You want me to describe what happens? How the heck am I supposed to do that?!" She asked sighing heavily as she made the egg like shape. "Alright, I'm in the egg.....The bugs are flying towards me....They are decently big...Enough E can actually see what they look like...When they touch the egg they seem to burn and/or scurry away madly from the sand not wanting to touch it as it will harm them but a few are daring and touch it, being flamed a bit and choking because it gets in their filters..." She told him describing it as best she could while being a bit confused. ((i'm not confused, she is, lol))

"Good," said the groundskeeper, you are beginning to see how you can use your imagination to affect other mental images, and possibly even other mental constructions. Now try this, try and stay somewhat trance-like but open your eyes a bit and I'm going to send small glowing energy bundles at you. Try and strengthen your imaginary eggshell into, say, a force field. See if you can keep them out. Now when they come into contact with your field, you may feel a slight fuzy buzzing, bring more of your imaginary energy there. If it gets through and gets all the way to you, you will get a small electric shock, nothing more than a carpet shcok at home, but you will feel it. Ready?, here goes..."

and with that he points a finger towards her and a small ping pong ball sized fuzzball of static electricity slowly starts to move towards Lilic.

Lilic smirked as she opened her eyes only just enough to faintly see ,still being in her trance-like state as she focused on the egg-like barrier she had put up strengthening it as she smirked. This was her forté. Defense. Lilic simply grinned when she heard it, her ears moving without her noticing because of the movement being normal to her. She put up a stronger barrier smirking as she, without instruction, added a second flame-like barrier inside the first using her mind completely. She was getting the hang of this barrier quite quickly. "Okay, so tell me why we're doing this, again?" She asked him still not sure as she mumbled something under her breath her ears going up absent-mindedly while she moved aorund a bit to get into a position inside the egg that was purely defense. She was using her stance as a way to help the barrier keep it's strength, in her mind - her stance held power to increase the barrier more than anything else right now.

[Shine]

They fuzzball of static electricity approached the defensive field and proceded into contact with it intending to go right on through and electro spark the young student.

Lilic held her stance as best she could but it wasn't strong enough for it to block since this was a new type of defense to her as she tried to stop it, her own shield coming up from habit, her magic showing. She knew shields but could only use certain ones, mostly to stop offensive attacks. ((It DOES have a weakness to it)) "Sorry" She said sighing trying to concentrate again lowering her shield that she had subconciously called up. "I didn't mean to do that...Physical shield..." She said looking to the ground.

[Shine]

The static electricity fuzz ball had discharged it's shock on the physical shield and dissappeared.

"Wow" laughed Sanders, thats good, we'll talk abut that later, lets stay with the magic field shielding, it uses less energy in the long run, and its invisible and portable. Use the confidence you have in your physical shiled and let that add spiritual energy to your mental shield. Shall we try it again?" he asked rhetorically. And he once again released a static electricity fuzzball which moved in towards her

Lilic smirked. "Thanks....So why exactly are you telling me to do this stuff?" She asked, she still had no idea that he was her trainer as she brought the shield up again as she concentrated using her physical shield abilities as best she could in her mind without actually bringing up the physical shield. She had a habit to bring it up so this was difficult for her to get in her mind to not bring up the physical one but use the confidence in that one into this shield but she was managing it better than last time as she focused on it as she remembered learning how to use her physical shield, it was difficult at first but it became habit over time and she knew that this would become habit over time if she continued to try to use it like this. She was beginning to get the hang of it when she felt the spark hit the shield she focused on keeping it out as she did physically when she had called up her other sheild. This one would be holding a lot better than her former mental shield. The more confident she seemed the better she was with her shields it appeared.

The little static electricity bundle came into contact with Lilic's mental shield, and it went out of existence.

"Good! You did it. Now you just need to practice it and make it stronger. You realize that you did nothing physically to the static electricity, It was held together by thought and magical energy, my creation. What you did was disrupt the magic holding it together, and it fell apart. This shield wont do anything against solid objects, don't lose that other shield, but this shield can surround you in a low level protective field. It won't let people read you telepathically, or hit you with low level spells. Another time, I can tell you about the nature of magic and how you can generate your own magical energy to intensify these kinds of shields.
Hmmmm, I wonder where that instructor is, he's kind of late..."

[rosebarks]

Lilic looked at him before she opened her eyes the shield going down as she breathed heavily. Obviously not used to using the shield at all. She had to practise and practise a lot. "Sir, will you train me further in more challenging techniques?" She asked kneeling infront of him as a person asking a sensei for training or further instruction would do, bowing down in respect. "I would gladly train this shield under your watchful eyes sir, if you would allow me to continue being trained by you" Lilic told the man bowing again. But the smile of being proud with accomplishing such a feat was on her face she was unable to wipe it off for the moment, she was proud that she had gotten this skill as easily as she had. "And thank you very much sir for training me on how to use the shield, Sensei" Lilic bowed again with a wide grin, she had figured it out after he said that it was his creation.

Sanders looked a bit surprised and humbled as Lilic expressed her appreciation.

"uh, yea sure, anytime...."

Just then, Obed came into the Dojo space and looked at them, saying

"You must be Lilic? I'm supposed to get you to follow me, the guy who is going to be doing your training wants to meet you out on the field yard.

Lilic gets up and nods. "Alright" She said tilting her head as she smiled waving to Mr. Sanders with a large grin on her face. ~I owe him for helping me out the way he did~ "So...Uh...What would by thine name?" She asked trying ot start a slight conversation by chance.
