I know the synth combos for black and steel arrows-but what's the synth for stone arrows?

Edit: Ironically, It just started raining stone arrows.

OK, so, I am a dolt or someting. I read the whole thread and I can't figure out what you are doing. Could someone post a walk-through on the creation of something simple, kind of an "Items for Dummies"?

I went to the Stores and couldn't make anything happen. I'd click on things in my inventory and nothing would happen. I see the formulas you folks spell out, but where and how do you combine the things?

Alright, I'll walk you through an old favourite of mine - glass. I need these to get the squid ink to make charms, but glass is also really useful for other items too, and it's not too hard to make.

First up, you're going to need the following ingredients from the following stores:
1 x Sandalpine/Beech/Black Walnut/Ironwood Log (any will do), you can get this from Rockton Mills in Evergreen Glades.
3 x Kelp, you can get this from Ocean Tidepools in Southern Frontier
3 x Sand, you can get this from Desert Oasis in Southern Frontier

After getting these raw ingredients, you're going to need to process a few of them.
- Go to Busters Flamepit in Black Forest. The list of items that appears here is what you can make.
- Turn your 3 Kelp into 1 Soda Ash (simply click on the word 'Soda Ash' that appears next to the picture)
- Turn your 1 Sandalpine/Beech/Black Walnut/Ironwood Log into 1 Wood Ash

Now that you have the three ingredients needed to make glass (soda ash, wood ash and sand), go to McSmelty Forge in Southern Frontier. You should see 'glass' next to the picture above (looks like a big yellow-ish lump), click on the word glass and it's all yours.

Glass can be used to make a number of things, and is very useful. If you go back to McSmelty Forge you'll see a few things that you can make your glass into straight away, mostly bottles to hold things. You need bottles to make dyes, potions, squid ink and a variety of other things, so they're pretty useful.

Most excellent 3kul, I'll have to move that to the Wiki at some point...

In summary, here's how the shops/synthing works:

1. The premise is that the database has various preset combinations programmed into it ( A+B = C, basically).

2. To access these combined items, you have to have three things:
* The right ingredients in the right number (some recipes require multiples of certain things)
* You have to take those ingredients to the right synth shop.
* You will probably have to pay a small fee for the merchant's services.

We did our best to lay everything out in a logical (Well, for Blackstar anyway) manner, such as things that need fire naturally are made in the Flamepit, cooked confectionary goods come from the Baker's shop, and gems and jewelery from the Jewelers, the Smithy refines metals, etc.

If you don't have all the right ingredients for an item, the Synth shop simply will show nothing available - hence why people post their finds here and/or on the Wiki, so they can remember how to make certain things later.

Before I waste a lot of time writing up a table myself is there anywhere other than this topic that lists all the currently known recipies, ideally in an easy to read format?

Not as far as I know, at all. Although I think Rich Uncle 3kul's Synth Game has a bunch of recipes not in this thread.

Ok, haven't quite figured out a way to get this online in its current format so for now you need Microsoft Excel (or a program that can read Excel files) to view it but here's a list of all the synth combinations given in this thread so far in alphabetical order of the item made.
(Although since its an Excel file you can re-oder them as you like.)

When I do find a sensible way to post it online somewhere I will do so, although I'm also planning to use it (and a bit of exploring of my own) to fill in any gaps in the Wiki.
