The Forests are Frozen

"Now" shouted Whiteoak to Obed

Seeing as magic had no effect on the wolf, they had decided to go for the indirect approach. The plan they had put together went like this:

Obed sprung to the air-
Whiteoak dropped the staff and used his water magic to literally spew quantities of water all around the wolf, expecting it to freeze before it hit him, but hopefully to surround him in a wall of ice.

Almost simultaneously but just moments behind, Obed sent a curse of "Pillar of Salt" ((see "Lot's Wife" in the Bible)) at the enveloping ice ball. Their hope is that this would encase the wolf in a solid sphere of ice and rock salt. Who knows if it will work, who knows how long it will last, but the next move will be to retrieve the staff, and tractor the rocksalt mass to some place of safety and confinement.
But that's the next move.
They would have to wait and see if all goes according to plan.

[Coolpikaaa]

Coolpikaaa fell forward,splashing into the shallow water and barely catching himself on all fours.

"Why?"

Coolpikaaa was too weak to move.The bolt had drained all his energy,yet sparks still crackled across his cheeks.

Odd...


The electric mouse slowly tilted his head upward.Ice shimmered from where the wolf had hit.It was standing there,looking at him.Coolpikaaa suddenly realized the wolf was the voice he had heard.

Why!?
Coolpikaaa wanted to yell at the creature.Why! It had been attacking his friend, thats why.Then it dawned on him.The wolf was talking about something else.

"I-I don't understand."Coolpikaaa's voice cracked.He suddenly realized how heavily he was breathing.One of his arms shook violently,then collapsed,making ripples across the flooded cave.

The wolf was covered in a coating of water as the attack went unnoticed by him, the water giving him an eerie ice armor.

"Why!? Why did you do this to me?!" He yelped and barked, undaunted.

[Coolpikaaa]

Coolpikaaa craned his neck around as the rest of his body lay supported by his frozen arm.He was looking for someone else,someone he knew had to be there.

It was quite obvious the wolf wasn't talking to Coolpikaaa.His replys seemed slightly deranged, and really made no sense at all.So coolpikaaa continued his searching of the cave,then coming back to the ice-covered monster and giving him a slightly confused look.

Paranesia

She was, indeed, watching, knowing who he was.

She appeared, without any warning, no fanfare unlike her usual entrances. She stood upon the frozen and ripped corpse of her Spirit, staring at the shaking and icy wolf.

"Articus."

The Wolf

His pack, the scent, it was right in front of him-

But it wasn't them. It was a scent he was familiar of, one he knew well-- but he misidentified it. He was wrong.

"Why did you hold me like you did, you monsters-"

"Articus."

Paranesia

She stood, unaffected by the water and the ice.

"Articus, you are not making sense. Calm down."

His mind was even more in a mess than it was previously, prompting her appearance -- but now she knew why it was.

Calmly, she sent a message to the attackers.

~Destroy the collar.~

The Wolf

Something was familiar about that god, the only one unaffected by him -- her voice sounded familiar, he kept on thinking of that cat, but this clearly wasn't a cat, it was a fox, and-

"Who are you?! Why are you here?!"

[Kazumaru]

~Please, Goddess. Get off of me. I'm already missing a leg and chunks of my stomach.~ Kazumaru started, his thought-voice sounding like it was through gritted teeth.

[Shine]

Whiteoak wasn't sure who this being was, but it seemed to have some influence with the beast. He picked up his staff and activated the cutting laser tip. He moved a bit closer and began to cut through the collar, trying to be careful not to cut the wolf in the process.

[Coolpikaaa]

~Destroy the collar.~

Paranesia's voice in Coolpikaaa's head was slighty unnerving.Not that the pikachu wasn't expecting it, after all, he knew she would want to keep track of something this big,especially if it had mauled her spirit.

He weakly lifted his other arm from the water,and used it to push himself back up to his feet.Another electrical blast would drain him completely,so he scanned around for anything else he could use...

Then he saw it.

Along the roof of the corrupted cave, stalactites had formed.One of which was conviently located above the ice wolf...

He honestly didn't know if he could do it again,especially to that hight.But his tail was already glowing a brilliant white and he swung it out and up,moving with such sheer force that it lifted him straight off the ground.

"Just think of it as the table in Kaz's lab..." coolpikaaa said as he sailed through the air.For the split second before impact,the tail shone brighter than ever and sliced cleanly through the rock before fading back to normal.

Stalactite and pikachu fell, one toward the ice wolf, the other to the rocky floor below.

[Cloud]

Cloud shrugged, wondering why the Pikachu was making such an effort for pretty much nothing. He unsheathed one of his daggers, pulled his arm back and took aim at the wolf's collar. Throwing with all his might, Cloud hoped that it would have some affect. Even if it froze before impact it would still undoubtedly be a formidable weapon.

The Wolf (Articus)

The stalacite fell, and shattered the coating of ice, freezing and overall not affecting Articus.

Somewhat startled, however, from the ice falling off of him, Articus moved, managing to dodge Cloud's sword completely.

Paranesia

"Articus, you know who I am. Calm down, they are trying to help you."

Paranesia ignored her spirit's mental cries.

[LordPsycho]

A small vortex of smoke appeared towards the ceiling, and slowly decended -- tornado style -- to the ground, where it collapsed, leaving a badger in it's wake. ((Yes, Au'Marui's animal form is a Badger...now you know why he always appears as a hominid)) The badger then stood on his hind legs, leaving his front limbs hanging down on either side of him at a 45 degree angle to his body.

The Badger then did something you wouldn't expect in Psychotopia...it spoke.

'Articus, I am Au'Marui. You have been wronged, as I have been, and as Shaon has been. You need to calm down. We -- even that poor baffoon *nods to Kaz* -- are here to help you.' ((I normally do light blue for color, but given Articus is moving in on that, I guess I'll do green))

[Kazumaru]

Kazumaru couldn't see who was speaking, as his head was still pointed straight up. He thought-spoke anyway. ~I am?~

[Shaon]

((I hope you don't intend to mean that Au'Marui was a badger back before he was a spirit/god. The thing is, Articus and Para are seriously old. They were created from animal spirits as an experiment; they realized that animal spirits were too powerful to their liking (on par with the Originals, as Para shows and Articus never had the chance to.), so now almost all currently-existing gods are humans.))

Articus

"Do you believe me to be stupid?! These -- mortals, these -- minions are attacking me!"

Paranesia

Para lifted an eye at the badger.

"I am Shaon no more, Au'Marui. That was merely a psudonym. Do you have trouble with memory?"

((No, but DP realized the importance of symbols, and likes the affect it has on people when he jumps out of bushes and starts Badger dancing))

~Now now Shaon, aren't I allowed any nicknames anymore? And here I thought you forgot our agreement...~

Undine was about to set another attack plan into motion. However, she stopped when she heard some of the mindspeak between Articus, DP, and somebody else.

She looked at the wolf again, and then something in her mind clicked. This was no ordinary wolf. This was a god that should be treated with respect.

Therefore, she stood back, hoping everyone else would get the message soon enough.
