The Forests are Frozen

So many years.

So many years, since then.

Since he ran free.

Uncountable ages, even for him.

But then it happened.

He was moved, from cell to cell, with only them knowing.

And he was aware.

He was sleeping when it happened -- Sleep was, quite literally, his friend, especially now.

He was awoken when something broke -- a spell, a bounding. Keeping him from leaving.

He was free.

They didn't know it.

He was free.

Free, after all these years, all these millenia!

He broke free from his weakened shackles with ease, froze them and snapped them with his teeth.

Everything was weakened, everything broken.

He threw himself through the frozen wall, blindly scrambling through corridors, howling in the wake of potential freedom.

Kazumaru sat outside of his lab on a crate marked "Property of the U.N.A. White Stars." For once, he'd decided to simply admire the beauty that surrounded him: Short grass, bizarrely formed trees, giant spiders... It'd been at least a month since his lab was last destroyed, which he considered to be a record of some sort. For once, things were as they should be. Nice and peaceful...

His thoughts were interrupted, as he heard a cracking sound from beneath him. He looked down, and saw frost forming on the ground in front of him. Then, the ground began to crack, like tempered glass if you hit it with a hammer.

The spiderweb pattern spread, and suddenly a wolf-like being burst out, sending shards of ice flying in all directions, with several hitting Kaz. "What's the big idea!?" the Spirit of Electricity shouted, jumping off the crate, not having a clear view of the wolf.

"What gives you the right to burst through the ground of the property I don't technically own-"

The wolf turned to Kazumaru and snarled at him, before biting Kazumaru's leg, freezing him solid.

It turned and trotted away from the lab, leaving Kazumaru standing frozen.

~I hate this place... so much...~ Kazumaru thought, before a gust of wind pushed his frozen form over, hitting the ground with a thud. ~SO VERY MUCH.~

There was someone guarding his way out.

He smelled terrible, like one of those who kept him imprisoned.

He went down easily, a simple bite to the leg, like all of them did.

But, as he mauled the guard, he smelled something familiar on him.

Memories he couldn't remember passed through his head, and he backed away, snarling.

What was that smell?

It was nothing he had smelt... since before...

The last thing he remembered was from his pack. Yelling, loud noise, nothing.

Snarling, he turned and trotted away from the frozen Kazumaru, following the scent, off to the west, to the charred forest in the distance.

That was where the scent originated.

[Coolpikaaa]

It was a nice day.

Coolpikaaa was resting in a tree in the forest by kaz's lab,soaking up the sun.Fruit hung from a few branches above him,probably peaches,but he was too lazy to climb up and get them.Although it gave off a sweet smell...very good smell....

Blah fruit. Eat something good...like raw, hunted meat once in a while...

"Shut it,Symbiote."coolpikaaa said to himself as he latched onto the main branch and made his way up toward the fruit.

"What's the big idea!?"said a voice very much like the one Kazumaru used after coolpikaaa destroyed his lab....for the 14th time.

"What gives you the right to burst-"coolpikaaa poked his head down from the leaves at this moment."...through the ground of the property I don't technically own-"

He was yelling at a wolf thing...and a VERY big hole in the ground.The wolf turned at looked at the spirit.Then it bit him and Kaz froze like a lake in winter.

"What the???!?"coolpikaaa covered his mouth.He REALLY hoped the wolf didn't hear him.

After kaz was blown over,and the wolf stopped mauling him,coolpikaaa let go of his mouth and waited,starting to breathe normally again.Even the symbiote seemed to have been silenced by this turn of events.The monster seemed to have smelt something,and walked away.

"Kaz!"coolpikaaa yelled.He had jumped out of the tree and was running toward the downed spirit.

[Kazumaru]

Kazumaru heard Coolpikaaa's voice, though it sounded far off and he could barely make out the words. ~Shock... me...~ he thought-spoke to CP, his "Voice" sounding strained. ~Or get a... flamethrower... or something...~

~Shock... me...Or get a... flamethrower... or something..~

It was weird to have Kaz in his head.
Actually alot like symbiote....

"Right..."coolpikaaa said as he pumped electricity into Kaz,wondering if it really was doing anything.

[Kazumaru]

Electricity coursed through Kazumaru, creating enough resistance to mostly unthaw him. The spirit mustered up all his strength and stood with a groan. Half speaking and half thought-speaking, he grumbled "Thank you." to Coolpikaaa.

After he managed to unthaw the rest of himself (Hooray for electrical resistance!), he once more thanked coolpikaaa. "Thanks... Frigging crazy wolf thing... Did you see that...?"

[HollowEyes]

HollowEyes and Caton were training atop the volcano, HollowEyes working his minion to the bone to increase his strength little by little, as he now did in his spare time. They had just stopped for a short break when the beast entered the realm, though neither of them noticed it immediately.

Caton, panting heavily from the intense workout, was now sporting a long slender scar that extended down the centre of his body - a wound given to him by an enraged Goron. It was a pretty small price to pay for being sliced in half, but a constant reminder to the nekomata of his own weakness. Despite his own power and the power of the Ruby Dagger the Guardian had simply been too fast for him, and this was the main reason as to why HollowEyes insisted upon him training as much as he could to get better.

They'd been training since the early morning, so Caton at first assumed that he was simply seeing things when he spotted the large wolf bounding towards the Black Forest. He watched it for a little while, wondering what it was when he suddenly noticed what it was doing - everywhere that it touched was freezing over, plants, grass, trees, even several small animals... Caton didn't know much of the wildlife local to the area, but he'd never seen a wolf like this before and it seemed anything but harmless.

"Boss, down there... What's that?"

HollowEyes, unlike Caton, had barely broken a sweat over their training, but he'd been deep in thought when his minion interrupted him. "Hm? I'm sure it's noth..." The Parasitian trailed off before he could finish his sentace - this was definately not nothing. "... I think that we'd best return to the Cave." He finally managed to say, his mind now reeling over what the hell this creature could be.

The two began to make their way back down the volcano, slowly heading towards the Corrupted Cave to see if the others knew what this was.

((Is Kaz's Lab in the same vicinity as the general labs of the Underground Bunker? or is it somewhere different?))

Whiteoak and Obed were out for a fly around. They had been in Dojopolis at Obed's CoffeeHouse, but were on their way back to their Lab in the Underground Bunker to retrieve another replicator. The one in the back room of the CoffeeHouse had gotten stuck in a feedback loop while mass producing super-high-bouncy balls to go in the gumball sytle machine in the entryway of the restaurant. They now have something like a quarter-million balls, and one broken machine.

So anyway, they were flying over head when they saw a something moving across the ground far below them leaving a frozen trail behind it. It looked seriously concerning, I also looked seriously dangerous. So they decided NOT to follow the wolf?like? thing itself, but rather to back track up the way it had come from to see about it's origins and to see if there were any people who needed their help.

"Most of it..."coolpikaaa was lost in thought."We have to do something. Stop it."

Something was flying in the distance.Maybe more than one something,whatever.All coolpikaaa knew it that his animal instinct was telling him this was more than some of the craziest stuff he had faced combined.

Kazumaru shook his head. "Ice... I can't do anything against ice." his voice sounded almost depressed, and a bit shaken. "Pretty much the only thing I can't fight... Don't even know what it is... might have been an elemental or something. Felt vaguely familiar, though..."

The spirit shook his head again. "If it can take down an Immortal with one attack... frankly, I think we're pretty screwed, here." Almost as an afterthought, he added "C'mon. Let's get inside.. don't want another one of those bites."

Kazumaru limped inside, his leg still partially frozen...
