Sabrille was so hungry. She hadn't eaten all yesterday, and with the sun hanging low in the sky it appeared that today would be a repeat experience.
She groaned and sat on a tree stump, looking out across the forest before her.
No wind moved the trees branches, and not a single bird sang. There was no rustling of day animals going to bed or night animals waking up.
Why was the forest so empty? thought Sabrille.
She had tried calling animals all day to no effect. There simply were no animals here. Even the rotten hollowed-out trees showed no signs of the usual bug infestation. Sabrille had noticed the lack of life on the night before last, and had since covered two days of travel with nary a peep.
At least if there are other travellers here, I may be able to find some food, she thought, standing up and walking quietly through the eerie silence. _________________ Characters:

Off in the distance in the trees to Sabrille's right she would see a twinkling and glow that appeared to be that of a camp fire. Meanwhile as this "fire" had appeared a faerie hiding behind a tree nearby was covering her mouth to stifle her giggles as she waited to see if this "human" fell for her glamour. Thinking to herself This is great, I was getting really bored without even some animals to keep me company in this creepy place! _________________ My actions speak louder than any words I could ever say.

As if to accentuate the camp fire, in the tree nearby there was a sudden ruckus, as if a large number of birds had just tried to fly out of the tree chaotically. No birds, however, were seen flying around its branches. Perhaps some birds had flown into it to hide. Something had moved in the tree at least, as there was no wind to cause the rustling. _________________ ~AmadÃs Anguiano

Sabrille's head whipped around to the source of the noise, but still she saw nothing. No life, no animals. She 'shifted to a small panther, skulking around the shadows waiting for someone to come by. There seemed to be a campfire nearby, but in her experience campfires meant settled in people - Sabrille would not be able to get food from them. She noted the location, however. Maybe late at night she could raid the camp if the occupants did not post a watch.
Frankyl, Sabrille was surprised anyone would camp here at all, what with the emptiness that stretched all around. Maybe she should try heading back...?
No. The angry mob would want her to give them her food. Finders keepers! Even if they had already known where it was. _________________ Characters:

((Ok, appearantly Dojodians need permission....*sigh*))
A twig snapped nearby.
Then silence.
Than a truly gruesome creature entered the area illuminated by the campfire. His hide had the appearance of stone, and he looked like some horrid mix between a lion, warthog, and bat.
This was perfectly normal for him in this form though, most gargoyles looked like some kind of beast.
As he finished approaching the fire, his chips of stone started to break loose. Bones and muscles inside started rearranging themselves, and a man finished the rest of the walk, holding the fresh firewood.
"Sorry it took so long, had to cut down a tree.
Still no signs of life, though. Although personally, that's not the surprising part. The fact that Sensei Psycho has no idea what's causing it surprises me."
Blackfoot sat down and pondered a bit
"Though, he was in a hurry to leave for where ever he went. I suspect where ever he is has something to do with our investigation."
His companion gave the appearance of being human, though there was some kind of glow about her in the semi-darkness.
"Yeah, odd he'd just run off like that. Something must have him very spooked for him to run off so soon after returning. And if I know Sensei, he's running to whatever has him freaked out." Added Violet, the female with the slight glow. _________________

Sabrille wasn't the only hungry one. Goron had noted a beasty-looking creature earlier and determined it might be good food. Actually, he was hungry enough to eat dirt at the moment, so even a stone-hided warthog was tempting. He had been tracking the beast for a short time before Blackfoot arrived at the campsite. It stepped on a stick, then the air was deathly quiet.
Then he heard a voice speak. Knowing that the beast more than likely didn't make this campfire, Goron decided that he need act now before his prey be captured by another hungry creature. Goron whipped his right arm to the side, and a blade of pure plasma extended from his wrist console. He leapt from the bush at the warthog, blade held above his head.
"Blackfoot?"
Stopping in mid-flight, Goron slammed into the ground next to the fire, face first, digging his sword into the ground. The gravel immediately turned molten, and Goron withdrew his hand and sword quickly. Deactivating the blade before it could do anymore damage, he turned to the gathering of travelers, somewhat embarrassed.
"Um... hello. Sorry about that Blackfoot, I thought you were food..."
Goron removed his helmet. He hadn't spoken to Blackfoot in some years, and was wary of the Gargoyle, in case he was in a bad mood. In their last fight, Goron had taken a kick to the hip. It had hurt. A lot.
If any of the travelers had known Goron, they would have noticed his change of attire. Instead of his usual ninja-style robes, his wardrobe had been altered to fit this combative land. Body armor, camouflage, enough weapons to run a small war, and of course, a bullet-proof helmet. His contemporary sword had vanished from his back, instead replaced by a battle rifle. A trio of grenades hung from the front of his vest, finishing off the outfit.
"How are you? I don't believe I know all of you..." _________________ ~Goron~

Kiery had to use both hands to keep from squealing in glee at the number of people her false fire was attracting, even if the one it was intended for didn't take the bait, it's probably a good thing, I didn't expect her to be a shifter. Having a flash of inspiration from her hiding spot after hearing how Goron apparently was after food she began to quietly weave her fingers through several intricate patterns until an illusionary little brown rabbit stood before her. Quickly pacing back and forth before the to her large rabbit she came up with a plan and sent the rabbit off and running, the little fake furry creature darting infront of the now panther Sabrille and then dashing towards the fire to run through the camp and into the bushes. Meanwhile Kiery quickly fluttered to a new hiding place closer to the campfire to get a better look, now hiding in a little bush outside the camp. _________________ My actions speak louder than any words I could ever say.

"Hey, a rabbit. Awww... cute little thing," words came out from the tree that held branches over the illusionary campfire. "I'm sorry to bother any of you, but could one of you help me get down? I seem to be kind of in an awkward position," continued from the tree.
Hanging upside down on a branch, latched on from his ankles being locked as firmly as they could while his legs wrapped around the branch, what seemed to be a young man remained just dangling there, overlooking the five people who gathered around the campfire. A little hard to make out his face, due to a long, brown suede jacket was draped inside-out over his face as he dangled there, victim to the force of gravity a good deal of things were. Asides from the brown jacket, the man wore blue denim pants, a black cotton shirt, a black leather belt with a silverish buckle, and two brown, steel-toed shoes. _________________ ~AmadÃs Anguiano

"I've got it!"
The sword flickered back to life. Goron glanced up at the branch before covering the distance between himself and the tree in a fraction of a second. The plasma cut easily through the branch, freeing the man from his restraints. Unfortunately it also freed him up for the 10 foot drop.
Goron held onto the stub that was now the branch. The plasma once more dispersed, deactivating the sword.
"You're welcome." _________________ ~Goron~

Shavo was interested by the amount of weapons. He though his LLAma would be enough to take any enemies down. But he didn't want to risk it. He would stay out of sight for now. His LLAma was propped up against his shuttle pod. He had a small fire nearby. A strange creatures, half ox, half rabbit was roasting over it. Shavo walked up to it, checking that the herbs were blending in well enough. If the juices ran off he'd have wasted a lot of money.
Satisfied that it was cooking well, he turned his attention back to Goron. _________________ Putteh! |

Dead trees often resemble old, wart-ridden crones. Lumps and tumorous outgrowths from scarring and lightning strikes and Sensei-knows-what-else dot them, creating a craggy, gnarled surface.
It is always suprising to observers when one of these bulges turns and stares them right in the eye. Those who know Psychotopia well enough know that the Owl is probably watching somewhere, but even then they have much to learn.
"Fie! Would you two permit silence to survive here!? Damnable diumvirate! Blackfoot, Goron, have you no respect for those who require visitations ot Morpheus Kingdom?"
Fluid velvet midnight always appealed to the Old Bird. He lived in the Night, and harboured a respect for any creature which bandied the moon's robes as its garb.
"Hola, Panther-born! You are new to the this place, for I have seen much and heard much more, but your presence is new to me. What brings you here, to my place of rest?" _________________ If I were I as wise, as many have said

"But surely a creature of the night such as yourself can tell this silence is unnatural?" Danikat countered, as she emerged from the darkness around the campfire, "You have spent more nights amongst the trees than the rest of us, how many of them can you honestly say have been spent in silence, with no calls from other birds, no rustling of little animals in the undergrowth....no, something is very wrong here and I for one would like to know what."
And on that note she turned to the rest of the group, nodding her greetings and eying each one up in turn. "I assume that is the reason we are all here, to find out why no one else is. If you don't mind I suggest we work together." _________________ Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to decieve ~ Sir Walter Scott
