"The Starship" as we have affectionately abbreviated our forum, is home to my series "Starship Moonhawk" and its fans.
Hello, I am Michael C. Prokop, creator of Starship Moonhawk and founder of the Starship Moonhawk Forums. While I am not a huge role player, I do dabble from time to time, and was quite the D&D2nd Ed. Player in my misspent youth. I'll save those war stories for another time.
Consider me... community relations and "Ambassador At Large" for our forum, which has a considerably more sci-fi/fantasy role play bent. (given that the series it is attached to is a space epic/military drama) Basically, I came here to help build stronger relations between our two forums and answer any questions the members here may have about what's planned for the future, the occasional shout about upcoming events and let you all know about our series specific "Total Immersion" role play system. (again, a tale for another time as the rebirth is still in its infancy.)
Anyway, I'll wrap this up: in short, glad to be here, and I will definitely be reading along to see what goes on here. Hopefully soon, we will have more friends joining us. |

Ah, as the first to say hi I shall give you the warning that we seem to constantly forget to add to the canned greeting. Anyway!
Please deposit all sanity into the skull shaped baskets unless you want it leaking out of your ears. Trust me, it's suprisingly sticky, and stains stuff purple. Floorboards, carpets, walls ((painted, bare and wallpapered)) ceilings and in short: everything. Trust me on this.
One of the other mods should be along to give you the canned greeting which I'm sure I've mentioned somewhere else in my post.

The most important part of role playing is the development of a character. This is required before you participate in most role plays. You can look at examples of characters in our Hall of Records. Once you have a character, you can post your profile in there.

Usable items have a hit % and a break %. If you're lucky, your item use will suceed, if not, it will miss. Either way, there is a chance that your item will break and become unusable. See our wiki article on Items for more information.
Several of the boards are non-RPing boards. Boards like Announcements, General Chat, and Bugs and Features are examples of non-RPing boards. Be sure to explore these too.
We only have a few rules:
1. Respect other people, and treat them as you wish to be treated.
2. Do not argue with the Admins and Mods. They have plenty of work already. If you really have a beef with something, discussing it in a logical and calm manner will get you miles farther than whining.
3. No Powerplaying. This means forcing actions on other people. For more information on Powerplaying and how to avoid it, please refer to "Powerplaying" on our wiki.
If you have any questions during your stay here, you may ask one of the administrators or moderators. You can recognize us by our belts: Gold Dragons on the belt of an Admin, Silver on the belt of a mod.
Should you be unable to contact an Admin or you want your answer quickly, you can always refer to the Blackstar Wiki.
Please also be advised that Blackstar is considered highly addictive and may result in symptoms of insomnia, crankiness, longing for insanity, and general RP itch if you discontinue use. |

Ah, greetings Macia. I'm glad SFOT gave you the warning first, saves a lot of time .
I've been looking around your site myself, and I find tha comic strip to be rather interesting. I don't read many webcomics I'll admit, except for Inhuman, but this one looks like it'll stay on my radar for longer . See you around one of the forums.

... I do believe Lordy meant to say 'as is', rather than the word it looks like he's saying in between the 'S''s. But hey, at least this way it gives us a chance to giggle. He so hardly ever makes a mistake... Well, that, or I'm just slow and this is the first time I've caught him doing it.

I'm a more medieval/fantasy oriented person, so I'm not sure how much you'll enjoy my company. 
Oh well... Maybe if we do start talking, we'll come back with a steam punk universe. =p

Esspecially on cleanup. Honestly that stuff is stickier than pixie punch and worse than the wall slime for getting everywhere.
Anyhoo, welcome to the forum!
This concept of affiliation is intriguing to me and it will be interesting to see how it plays out in the future. I have a sneaking suspision Danikat ((the character)) would get along well with your Mercadians....could be interesting to introduce them sometime.

Welcome to the Dojo, Macia. I'm Kazumaru, spirit of Electricity. Also apparently the only watchmaker/AI programmer in the system, currently.
Kaz would probably get along with a lot of the people from the Station as well... being rather tech-centric himself.
