Some Sparring Practice

It looked almostly like a fireworks display... and she would have allowed herself to enjoy it if not for the impending danger.

"Kaji seishou tame mai kyuujo... Hinotama!"

A blazing fireball, about ten centimeters in diamater, formed at her outstretched hands and left to meet the incoming attacks, resulting in a wonderous display of explosions.

Lunagon watched as the explosion created when his spell and his opponent's spells met completly ruined his chances of healing his shoulder.

But on the plus side, he could probably sneak off while it had her attention, and then he could find a way to stop the bleeding. He turned around and walked off, making sure not to speed up the bloodflow.

"Mmm... leaving so soon?" she called out with a slight hint of smugness in her voice. Easily, she ran after him, careful to maintain a few feet away lest he attacked. She had drew out a lone dagger, ready to throw at him if need be.

Lunagon stopped walking and without completly turning around, gave Eve a withering glance. Judging by the smugness in her voice, he figured she knew she was winning this fight so far.

But it won't stay that way for long...

Snarling, he quickly spun around and thrust his hand, palm upwards, into the air, causing a black, slightly transparent box to form over him. Then it flew in a high arc towards Eve.

At the box's highest point, it seemed to stop, while still spinning, and then it split into 3 boxes, all of which continued to complete the arc towards the woman causing Lunagon torment.

This doesn't look too good...

She eyed the spectacle with a slight bit of worry, a frown now gracing her lips.

What to do...?

She needed to get away- fast.

"Tei seishou tame mai kyuujo... Kaze!"

A huge gust of wind from behind rustled her cloak and hair as it went past, pushing against the boxes like it would a kite and slowing their descent. She took this opportunity to run before the wind died down and allowed the boxes to hurtle down to the ground.

((I'm not sure how these boxes work.. do they continue their course and explode when they hit the ground? Or will they simply change direction and continue following Eve? I'll leave that up to you to roleplay.))

The boxes continued to follow Eve, but to Lunagon's eyes they looked more like they were about to hit a very small rock instead, seeing as their target was running in the direction of said rock and was a bit out of range.

And that was what happened. All 3 boxes landed on the rock, contracted in on themselves, and reduced the rock to sand in the resulting explosion. That was a minor disappointment, but at least it was a much-needed distraction.

This time, the half-vampire ran instead of walked, caring more about getting away from his assailant than worring about the slash on his shoulder.

She sighed... he was running yet again. Knowing that the blood loss would be affecting him, she decided that he needed some help. It was not a battle to the death after all.

"Stop! Let us ceast the training so that I can patch up that round on your shoulder. You should trust my opnion on this... any more bloodloss will be of dire consequences."

((Mmm... I was thinking of adding a new twist to this training. How about we add a bit of a plotline to this instead of just basic training on fighting?))

Lunagon stopped and turned around after he heard Eve's voice. Although he did consider what she said, and he knew from his personal experience she was right about some things, he was still very distrusting. After all, she was the one who threw whatever it was that had cut his shoulder.

Right now, there were two paths availible-he could ignore her and keep walking, or he could listen to her and see if her healing abilities were as good as life-force stolen by Dark magic. If he kept walking, he was likely to die from blood loss and/or infection before he could find a large animal to steal life from. But if he let her heal him, he would definately survive, and perhaps find an ally.

Considering that second outcome, he realized he needed somebody to at least associate with. Not all that many people were willing to trust a half-vampire like himself, and it would help keep his emotional issues in check.

Lunagon finally decided he would be better off with the second choice, but in case the other was planning treachery, he made sure he knew where the Night Slasher and the Moon Glinter were, before putting the Staff of Darkness back in its place and walking back towards Eve.

She sighed again, though this time in relief. At least he had enough sense to take advice when he heard it.

The fog had already began to lifted with the wind earlier. She could see him a bit more clearly.

Meeting him halfway, she stopped at a collection of stone ruins that could have been a house in it's earlier days. Kneeling on the ground, she waited for him to reach her.

Lunagon noticed Eve go into some old ruins that looked like they were once an house. Knowing that he was most likely expected, he went in, and kneeled besides Eve. While waiting to see what she could she do with his wound, he took the time to look her over again.

During the first meeting, Lunagon had only paid minor attention to what she looked like, as he considered her his enemy. But now, getting a better look at her, he thought there was actually some chance of actually getting to know her.

((Hmmm.. I suppose we'll go along and add in our own twists as they come to us, offer suggestions when need be, and more or less just have a one on one RP. It's been a while since I last had one of these...

Whee.. I realize this is a long post.. but yeah.. >>; When it comes to any task that's step by step... like cooking and such... I'll write a lot. ))

The first thing she did was summon a dim ball of light. About five centimetres in diameter, it hovered above their heads, shining enough light so that she could examine the injury more carefully.

"Stay still for me hun..." she murmured as she parted the fabric a little bit more, doing the deed delicately since some of the blood had dried and caused the cloth to be matted to the skin and cut. It was bloodstained and the wound was fairly deep. She would need to stitch this up.

I wish I had my bag with me...

Unfortunately for her, it was lying all the way at the edges of the ruins, leaning against a lone tree. At least she still had a small pouch of emergency materials.

Sweeping her cloak to one side, she reached down at her belt. Tied to the right side was a small leather pouch. Untying the knot, she opened the pouch by loosening the string threaded through the top. Reaching in with her thumb and index finger, she drew out a needle with a bit of clay on the tip so that it wouldn't pierce through the soft material and get loss.

After placing that on her lap because she didn't want it to get dirty and risk him getting an infection, she reached in yet again to pull out a small roll of thread and a small cup that was big enough for the needle to easily fit into.

She unrolled enough string for stitching before snapping the ends of it with her teeth. The rest of the roll was replaced into her bag while the length of the string was threaded through the needle. She then looped the string around her index finger twice before rolling it off to make a neat little knot at the end. This done, she took the clay bit off before placing it on her lap once again.

“Mizu”

The water vapour above the cup was coaxed to condense, resulting in a good bit of water inside. She then wrapped her fingers delicately around the container.

“Kaji”

The clay object began warming up to her touch and it wasn’t long before she had to set the cup back down. As the water began to boil, she dropped the needle and the thread into the water to sanitize it… the best she could have done for the situation.

After allowing the water to cool down on its own, she drew the needle out again, running the string between her thumb and index to draw out the excess water.

“Ready?” she asked Lunagon as she shifted over to him once more.

Lunagon nodded, wondering if he should tell Eve he was a hemophiliac. However, he was too busy thinking about what lie ahead to care about the outcomes if he didn't.

On that note, it's not really about quantity as it is about quality. Get what I mean? Of course, the more detail you add to it, the longer your post will naturally be. So.. better quality magically covers the "quantity" aspect of it too. That make sense?

Also... your second sentence was a bit... awkward. Lie should be "lay" I believe.

Mmm.. lastly, one of the things you should be concern about when you read over your post before submitting is... does it make sense? does it give the other RPers something to work with? And of course grammar and spelling and the such...

She was mildly surprise that he didn't ask her why she was using traditional methods rather than go straight to the magic working, but with the need for close attention to the task ahead, merely pushed the notion away.

Taking his nod as a sign of, yes you can move on, she pushed the needle into his skin. Sewing somewhat similarly as if she was sewing two pieces of fabric together, she worked deftly and neatly. Soon the edges of the wound was closed together. There was enough string so that she could comfortably snap off from the needle without being uncomfortably close to him... which she did so. Allowing the ends of the string to stay on his shoulder loosely, she covered the tip of the needle with the bit of clay again before returning it to her pouch.

Now came the real talent.

She gently placed a slender hand on either side of the wound where there was only minimal blood. Closing her eyes, she offered a prayer to the Goddess before muttering the healing incantation.

"Spirit of earth, wind and water. Come to my aid. Let me use your powers to heal this man in need."

A soft glow of light which started beneath her hands grew to engulf Lunagon entirely before diminishing. Opening her eyes, she was relieved and slightly proud to see that all that was left of the wound was a thin scar. She then began to pull the stitches out, one by one, as she explained what she did.

"I had to stich the wound up so that it would be easier for me to heal... a gaping wound is more difficult to patch together than one that is already closed," she told him in a softer than normal voice. This was partly because she could feel the beginnings of a headache... an occurance that was usual after such a healing.
