Blackstar Wiki needs YOU!

I need YOU to help clean up the Wiki. Jobs available are:

Important (in order of value):
* Add a Shop (including items) (Do not add Synth shops yet. Let's wait until we have the basic items up first, ok?)
* Add 1 Most Wanted page (must be fairly detailed)
* Clean-up pages that need cleanup
* Expand 1 Article (Plenty of room to do this in the item articles)
* Fix Orphaned pages
* Categorize 10 Uncategorized Pages
* Add links to 10 Dead-end pages
* Add 5 Most Wanted pages (no word limit)

Slightly less important (but still important):

* Add things to the Needs Attention category.

You'll earn money based on the depth and difficulty of your contributions. If you do exceptionally well (EG Add five shops, categorize all the uncategorized pages or something huge like that), you'll get a medal too. Naturally, something like adding a shop (which involves about ten pages on average, as well as uploading pictures, describing the item, that kinda thing) will warrant a higher return than, say, adding five dead-end uncategorized one sentence Most Wanted pages.

BUT!!!: You must follow the categorization rules to be able to claim your prize. And you also have to link to your contribution(s).

Categorization Rules:

Shops:
*Stores are categories, their subarticles are the items they contain/produce.
*Store categories contain a link to their appropriate shop on Blackstar in the same format as the existing store categories (See 'Category:Relics of the Dojo' for an example)
*All shops must be part of the Shops category and their appropriate Shop District category.
*Synth Shops must also be in the Synth Shop category.

Items:
*Articles are named according to the name of the item addressed. One article per item.
*Items contain the appropriate Item Info template.
*You MUST link to the appropriate store category in this format [[:Category:<store>|<store>]]. This is so it looks clean and also so you can link to the category directly. The first colon is VERY important, don't forget it. You can't just set up a redirect, it won't work (someone needs to update the Wiki software)
*Items must be part of the Items category and the appropriate Store category.
*Items obtained through SPECIAL events (Not through Importation Licenses or the like, but through events like Blackstar's Birthday) must be categorized under Special Events in addition to the normal categories.
*You know the drill: Unique Items - Items that there exist only one of.
*User items - Items made by users.
*Metals - Raw metals, but no ores (eg Bars and Ingots, not Ilmenite or Silver Ore)
*Dyes - Guess.
*Category:Relics contains relics made in the Labyrinth RP. Don't add or remove items unless you know what you're doing (And yes, The Sanity Blade is indeed a Relic, as is the Gauntlet (Which hasn't been added, as it's not an official item)).
*Add a picture when making the article, using the same name as the article minus the spaces. Check one of my articles (IE 'Red Ice') if you're unsure.
*Include the Synth combo if there is one. If you don't remember, check the Recipies thread in the Marketplace or 3kul's thread in the Bingo Hall.

Shop Districts:
*Shop Districts go in the Shop District thread.

Articles:
*Categorize.
*Add links from it.
*Add links to it.
*And for the love of sweet merciful god, no 'Coming soon' pages. You can't delete them, and it's not that hard to make a short sentence describing what it is.

Cleanup:
*Articles that need cleanup go into the Cleanup category.
*An article needs cleanup if:
*It's ugly.
*It needs deletion (Coming soon, etc)
*It's spammy
*It doesn't meet the above standards

Stubs:
*Articles that need expanding go in the Stubs category
*When expanding an article, know what you're talking about. Don't try and expand an article you know nothing about just to earn some , other people have to use this too.
*Stubs are articles that are too short (one or two sentences), not ones that just need more data.

Incomplete:
*Articles that need more data go in the Incomplete category. These are mostly shop items that need a release date, make cost, Synth combo, etc.

Unconverted:
*Articles that need to be converted to follow the new item/store system go in the Unconverted category. For example, an item that needs to be converted to use the Item Data table would go here.

Additionally, you can make new categories for like items (Planks, Logs, Plastics, Gems, Sheets, etc) but please make others aware of them in this thread so we don't end up with duplicate categories.

Give me a month and I'll be happy to help out. Actually I'd be happy to help out now but somehow I don't think they'd agree to put my exams back so I can work on the Wiki.

Don't sacrifice exam practise time for the Wiki, there'll still be plenty to fix when the exams are over .

Its not exactly related but its about the Wiki so I thought I'd put this here:

I noticed today that the Scroll of Ages (pages listing who has which belt(s)) is very out of date. I've done a little bit to clean up the red belt page by removing people who have moved on to higher belts but then I hit a problem:

I can't add people to the lists because I don't know the date they got their current belt (which is important, at least for the red and yellow belts because it determines when they're entitled to apply for the next level). Any suggestions on how to tackle this problem?

How do you link to a categorey without adding the page to the categorey?
