It depends.

I have some issues - first, a board section called Blackstar University containing the Underground Bunker, Hall of Records, and Training Dojo makes sense to me.

I am not so certain a separate board is needed - what exactly would it offer that the Training Dojo cannot?

I like the idea of it being a seperate board section, as it'd keep all of this relevant stuff together. And like Embri said, a new board is hardly necessary when everything's already here.

The training dojo is for hands-on RPing, the Blackstar University'd contain RPing Q&A. Although I like the idea of a board section, with (say) a 'The Lectern' board for this.

No, no, I think you're onto something. The Training Dojo is a little limited as things are. There isn't a place to learn, teach, lecture, and write about the actual art of rping out of character. Its a bit strange for characters to be discussing how to use and implement the techniques and styles used in playing and creating them, don't you think? I saw the University as fulfilling that little niche which seems to be unfulfilled anywhere else. Accept perhaps General Chat, but it would be more intelligent in my opinion to have a separate area.

I don't know how many threads you've actually bothered to look through to decide this Yoshi, but lots of people in the Training Dojo make out of character posts alongside their in character posts to help each other along, teachers and students alike. There's nothing to stop you from doing that if you want to (training is training after all), so I don't really see a need for a brand new section, especially when the Training Dojo has been getting so little use lately.

If you want to discuss the various technical aspects of your character (for example, their weaponry, their species, etc) there are sections for that too, all of which are mostly out of character - the Genetic Repository (for any and all RP biological information that you may wish to share) and the Underground Bunker (to discuss just about anything else: specific weapons, technology, magic, etc). Whether this is done in or out of character is entirely up to the poster, though for most of it I don't think it'd be too strange to post in character - what's so strange about a character understanding where they've come from, or how they've made something?

Perhaps there'd be a bit of a stronger point to be made if you'd had trouble posting certain topics in the Training Hall, but I'm pretty sure that we'd all be fine with whatever you want to post there.

Ah, well, I guess I didn't think things were quite so broad. I had a much more limited view of each of these sections than it seems is the general consensus. Though, on second look, I suppose you are right. My mistake. I'm used to things being much more rigid and specific than here in the Dojo, so you'll have to excuse me yet again. Embarassed
