Little Black Roses

[Sephirothsicase]

Seph opened the door from the Vampire and Unicorn Pub and took two steps outside. He held the door for his guest to exit also before smiling.

"Ready?"

Nynaeve nodded, both for her thanks for him opening the door for her and to let him know that she was, indeed, ready.

Excitement, adreneline, and the effects of the drink she had before made her skin tingle and her eyes sparkle.

Walking out the door, she watched him expectantly, wondering all the while how they were to get to the mysterious place he told about.

He nodded and took off something around a silver chain on his neck. It was the smallest key you had ever seen. It was silver and had a small cut ruby for decoration attached to the end.

He placed the chain around his wrist and pushed it into the air infront of them. A small "Click!" was heard. Seph twisted the key and pulled. And a door thinner than paper was made infront of them. A tiny gateway between dimensions.

Cold air and wind was blowing through the other side.

"Ladies first."

[Mitsukai]

Nynaeve was surprised when she saw the key. It was so tiny... cute even...

She was even more surprised at what he did next. Her eyes widened and she quickly glanced over at Seph.

"Ladies first.

Smiling slightly, she entered the doorway to the other side. It was quite chilly, so she pulled her midnight blue cloak closer around her. Thank goodness she decided to bring it along.

He stepped through after her, and closed the door behind them both.

They had walked into hilly land with snow as far as the eye could see. A soft, cold wind was gently blowing in a north-ish direction. Seph smiled as his footsteps crunched on the snow.

The landscape was slightly hilly with numerous trees seemingly placed in random spots, though behind them was a large forest. The trees all had their leaves, despite the cold temperature.

Infront of them was a long crystal path moving in a perfectly straight line. It led to a large, old-looking castle. This castle was a lot larger than most, it looked like it could house a small village in it's own building. Seph began walking towards it.

"Shall we?"

Nynaeve took a moment to take in her surroundings. The landscape was very much like up North where the Citadel was... but trees? With leaves? In this weather? How was that possible?

Looking ahead of her, she saw the castle and her eyes widened in surprise. It was so big! They were going there?

It certainly looks like it..

It did look like it. The crystal path they were on seemed to lead right to it. Her assumptions were confirmed when they began walking with Seph leading the way. She followed right behind him, stepping in his footsteps.

Eve didn't know why she did it... perhaps to avoid getting snow in her shoes. He had much longer strides that she, so by doing that it looked as if she was hopping about. And the funny thing was... she was completely unaware that she was doing the such.

She asked him, "How can the trees still retain their leaves in such weather?" It wasn't because she disliked silence that she asked him. Truth be told, she's always believed that the ability to walk companionably in silence was a sign of true friendship between two people. She asked because she was, as usual, curious with her new surroundings.

"Because those trees are special. I told you, time has no hold here. They will flower always, no leaf will fall from them unless you pluck one. But then another grows before you blink, it is a strange land."

He looks over his shoulder and realises that he has dissapeared. Puzzled, he turns around fully to see her following right behind him, literally in his footsteps. He laughs.

"Are you could, do you need a jacket? We are not long from the door."

It is a strange land... strange, but beautiful...

Seph's laugh pulled her out of quiet musing. Puzzled, she looked behind her. To her surprise, there was only one set of footsteps. Upon closer inspection, she realized that her footsteps were inside his.

Blushing and smiling sheepishly, she shook her head. "As long as we're almost there, I'll be fine," she told him, pulling her cloak around her. She then continued her hopping steps.

He smiles and turns around, his black cloak picking up slightly in the gentle breeze.

It was not long before they had reached the door. The door was large, reaching up a good few metres above them. He pulled gently in the hoop that acted as a door handle and the door creaked open, surprisingly light.

It swung open and Seph held it for her once more. Inside was a warm room furnished with red, gold and black furniture. A warm, roaring fire burnt in the opposite wall. This was the entrace room to the castle.

When they had reached the door, all she could do was look up in amazement. She felt even more short.

Shaking away those mental thoughts, she said, "Thank you," to Seph before entering.

Spotting the fireplace, she immediately walked over to it and plopped down, putting her hands out. Sighing blissfully, she turned her head to look around her. It was tastefully furnished, she decided; glad that it wasn't one of those cold, foreboding, creepy castles.

"So this is where you live eh?" she commented, still sitting in front of the fire.

"Yep, this is were I live."

He taps his boots on the outside stone, removing snow from them before walking in and taking them off. He stands next to wear he was sitting and warms his hands infront of the fire for a few moments.

"Could I tempt you to some food before we visit the garden? You must be freezing."

[Mitsukai]

Nynaeve smiled at him, enjoying the warmth from the fire.

"Not freezing... just kinda cold-ish. Enough so that I can use it as an excuse to camp out in front of this fire place. Food sounds wonderful though... it might even be enough to make me budge," she replied with a wink.

"Then, if you will accompany me to the kitchen, I will serve you."

He offers her his hand to help her up with.

"Sounds good to me," she replied as she grasped his hand and stood up.

He leads the way to the kitchen, leading through many doors and corridoors before after a minute or so they come to a large room, covered with black and white marble. Seph opens the fridge.

"What can I get you?"
