[Mitsukai]

Her mare whinnied, becoming restless yet refusing to leave her master.

Even without that reaction from her mare, Jun could see that the smoke was bad. Since when did smoke "giggle"?

She dropped one of the hands holding on the basket to place it on the mare's back, rubbing and cooing at Marian and trying to calm her down.

A frown was now gracing Jun's face as her mind raced. What was she to do? Her fan would hardly be of any use unless she could wave it madly and blow the smoke away...?

Nah.

Smoke that "giggled" would most likely be abnormal, and she had limited means of doing anything against it. Hopefully the others would have something to offer... she didn't want to have to use any unnecessary measures.

Furnace growled at the 'smoke' as his bright red eyes narrowed. Smoke that moved was bad enough but something that had come out of a dead body just rang the 'wrong' bells in his instincts.

The smoke giggled louder as it got thicker and started taking shape, until it formed that of a woman with shoulder length hair and a flowing dress, although she stayed the grey-black colour and wasn't entirely solid. Well, everything except her eyes stayed that colour, as they were red and slitted like a Dark Fire Dragons. The smoke woman giggled again as she turned and looked at the three.

"A deformed baby (turning to Supaiku), a near youngling (to Furnace) and a human with her animal servant (to Mits ). How pathetic"

Jun's eyes widened slightly at the sudden appearance of the mysterious lady and the soothing hand on the mare's back stilled.

Who on Earth is this...?

"A deformed baby, a near youngling and a human with her animal servant. How pathetic."

Animal servant?!?

Marian, sensing hostility from the strange creature, snorted indignantly and stomped her hooves in the ground.

Moving her hand again to soothe the mare, Jun glared at the intruder. This "animal servant" was her loyal companion. How dare this... thing say that! Out of instinct, Jun's other hand reached for her fan.

((Um... Swix? I'm a bit confused about this smoke... what is it exactly? Right now I'm thinking of plans for attack... and I'm not really sure how to go about it. If that makes sense.))

"D-deformed baby?!"

Supaiku's thoughts were a mix of shock, hurt, and burning hatred. His maw snapped open and let loose a small burst of flame at the smoke creature, curling into a canine snarl soon after.

"I'll show you deformed, you monster!"

((Mits: Kinda, although I don't want to give too much away just yet. Just think of it as sentient smoke for the time being, or you could try one of your attacks and see if it works?))

"Oh dear, what a temper. I'd be careful with that if I were you, you might burn yourself up"

The creature said, floating a little closer towards the snarling bronze dragon.

A blood curdling roar from the young Dark Fire Dragon called Furnace though brought her attention back to him, the smoke constantly escaping from his inner fires seem to have increased as his burning red eyes fixed on her.

The Dark Fire Dragon began to do a very strange thing for him, he began to back off.

Jun frowned, her hand stilling once more. Attack or run? What is this "smoke" really that can elicit such a response from Furnace?

The mare whinied quietly, but Jun kept her had still. She was lost in her thoughts.

Should I? I most certainly rather not... but there's no way I'll run without the others.

Strengthening her resolve with a quick glance at the other two dragons, Jun drew her fan from her belt. Flicking her left hand, she unfurled it smoothly. Not allowing the "smoke" any time to react, she muttered "Kaze," while sweeping the fan above her head in a fluid motion to the right side of her head before bringing her arm across to the left again.

The instant she finished the movement, a powerful gust of wind came from behind her and hurtled towards the smoke lady, ruffling her hair and the hems of her blouse and slacks as it went by.

With all luck, the wind would disperate the smoke.. hopefully.

((Just a note to everyone, I'm testing out a new weapon technique. Different from Nynaeve's dual fans which aims more towards physical attacks, this one combines elemental powers with an object.

The smoke lady grinned as the wind started to whip about her, ruffling the dress and her hair.

"Ah, thank you human, this should make it a lot easier"

The woman as the wind began to blow away her extremities in tattered wisps, although this lady wasn't at all distressed by it. In fact, she seemed to rather enjoy it.

"I do hope we meet again"

The woman said creepily as her eyes were the last thing to go, lingering momentarily on the two dragons before laughing again as she dissipated.

Furnace reared and snorted, and made the earth tremble as his front legs hit the ground in a barely controlled show of aggression.

"Foolish soft-skin!" he nearly bellowed, baring his teeth "How do you propose to stop or even contain this creatures now you've dissipated it so much it's invisible!"

((Meh, I was thinking smoke is more spread out = less powerful. Ah well, at least I got to introduce my new weapon idea... though not to a great effect. ))

Something in Jun snapped. She rarely showed extreme emotions, but with everything that was happening, the confusion, the excitement and that dragon's damn aristrocratic "I'm-higher-up-than-you" behaviour just added up.

She narrowed her eyes at the dragon and, with her hands now in fists, placed them on either hip bone.

"What did you expect me to do?!?" she yelled back, exasperated. "Shoot fire at it? Shoot sparks at it? Throw stones at it? It's smoke for heaven's sake!"

Pausing to take a breath, she continued in a rush of words. "One of you, attack it or run," she mimicked. "I would never run like a dog with its tail between its legs. So I had to attack, and using air seemed like the best idea."

"Why don't you do something next time?" she finished with a huff, still glaring.

((Hmm... Furnace seems to bring the worst out of Jun. Ah well, t'will be interesting to say the least.))

((Heh, I hope you're not offended if I say that that's great, 'cause that means that Furnace is developing just the way he should be ))

Furnace was in something of a state of shock, if that could be read by the rather long stare his bright red eyes gave Jun and his lack of his usually quick snide response. The dragon seemed to be seeing the human in a much more different light than that which he'd been doing before.

"Perhaps you didn't hear the Elder. Dark Fire Dragons can't harm this thing, so I can't harm it"

He snorted and turned his head away as though staring at something off in the far distance.

"Being what I am and being... powerless is worse than maddening" the word powerless Furnace almost seemed to try and make sure the word didn't touch any part of his mouth on the way out. He'd never apologise, just as he'd never admit to being wrong. But it seemed that Jun had garnered the small amount of respect the dragon rarely showed anyone in her outburst.

((No worries, I'm not offended at all. I'm glad to see that you're happy with Furnace's development, and I must admit that this also suits my own needs. This.. insight into Jun's "other personality" works well since it will provide much needed contrast with her story... once I get it up in the Amphtheatre... sometime... ))

"Being what I am and being... powerless is worse than maddening"

Her expressioned softened slightly, and the firery temper she had shown diminshed.

"You are not powerless," she replied firmly while taking a step towards him. Her mare, sensing that this was a rather serious moment, remained silent except for its breathing.

"You have more experience in these types of things than I do, or our fellow dragon over there," she continued on with a quick nod to the copper dragon. "We'll need that experience if we're to accomplish anything for one cannot rush into battle without some sort of plan."

It felt slightly awkward to say that.. for her to be lecturing him, but in a way she felt it was justified as well. He needed a wake up call, and she would give him one whether he wanted to hear it or not.

"Hrrrrmmm..."

The Dark Fire Dragon rumbled, still watching the human intently. He then grabbed the body of what had once been his 'sparring partner', at least, before he'd left and joined the EC, with both his mouth and forelegs and heaved backwards until it rested in the hollow he'd pointed out before.

~Very well then Jun~

He said teleathically before letting go of the body and falling back onto all fours.

" We shall plan while we work then"

She nodded her head before walking back to the horse. How that basket managed to remain steady on her mare's back, she had no idea. Perhaps the fact that Marian was still during the time of the events helped...

Beginning their slow walk once more, she asked the dragon, "What do you know of this smoke then? It's a good place to start as any."
