"You are as welcome down here as you were before you left, Danikat. Slaughtering hatchlings is not something even we would condone"

The Elder Dragon replied to Danikats question as he watched her descend in the red armour, although his own bright red eyes seemed to have hardened even more.

"The queen is in the Nursery"

Furnaces head turned first one way, then the other until he finally settled on a large enough indent in the ground a short way away from the beach. It meant he wouldn't have to haul too many rocks.

"Jun eh? Well, Jun, can you assist me in finding a lot of rocks or pulling Crimsa to that hollow I see over there?"

The young Dark Fire Dragon said as he indicated the direction with a nod of his head.

Nibbling on her lower lip, Jun glanced at Furnace, then the female dragon, then back to Furnace. She doubt that she would be much help with the dragon, seeing as the dragon weighed so much and she was much smaller. The task of moving the dragon seemed much too daunting and Jun frowned at the thought of it.

Rocks were much smaller and more manageable. As much as she would like to help with pulling Crisma, it was just unreasonable. More likely she would be more of a hinderance than help. That left her with not much to do, but at the very least it was better than nothing.

"I doubt I'll be much of an assistance in moving Crisma," Jun replied wryly, examining her small, slender hands. "I'll assist you with finding rocks for the burial instead."

Scanning her eyes over the terrain, she spotted the basket of shells she had left behind earlier. She moved towards the basket and dumped the shells that she had painstakingly collected earlier on the sand without a second though.

This'll be useful later...

Slipping the basket on her arm, Jun walked back towards Furnace. "Where shall the burial site be?" she asked softly.

"Over there"

Furnace said, waving his spiky ended tail at the large hollow in the ground.

"In that dent in the earth. Think you can handle that?"

He said before moving over to Crimsas's body and taking hold of her back with his muzzle so he could drag the body towards the area.

Coro would have looked as if he were staring at Danikat had he had eyes, and contemplating something.

"A friend is something you have and do not have here I fear, for it is fear that is attractive"

He said, and made a strange mix of a growling, gargling sound, as though he'd just had to swallow a bark of a laugh.

"Danger is above, and danger lurks below, where oh where will you go - oh?"

The Seer Dragon sang this last part in a very un - dragonlike voice, yet another demonstration that he no longer cared about dignity or pride.

"Did you want to ask a question?"

This last sentence was very different from the rest, seeming to make him more in touch with reality this once.

[Danikat]

Alzaranth: Yes we did. We came here with the Elder Dark Fire Dragons seeking something that had been attacking your people. We were told it was last seen in here. Do you know what it is, where we might find it?

[Mitsukai]

Jun glanced over at where Furnace gestured.

"I believe so," she replied wryly, making a plan of how to go about doing this task.

Obviously it would be difficult for her to collect and move enough rocks by herself... but with a bit of help.

She pulled out a small conch from a pouch attactched to her belt and brought it to her lips. A sound similar to a flute flowed out, very high pitched.

She waited after putting the conch away.

Thump thump, thump thump, thump thump.

Thunderous thuds of hooves reached her ears, and Jun smiled.

A strawberry roan mare stopped at her side, bringing its head down to nuzzle Jun.

"Good girl," Jun cooed while petting the horse.

Jun began making her way toward a nearby pile of works. She could feel Marian behind her, silent except for the soft thuds of hooves hitting ground.

Settling the basket on the mare's back, Jun began piling rocks into it. The basket, being fairly big, held about an armload of rocks.

Finally done with her task, Jun began walking towards the would-be burial site, hand outstretched to hold the basket steady as Marian trotted beside her. Slowly, but surely, they moved like this.

"You're in the wrong place"

Coro said, and lifted his head high.

"She's not here, seek the holdings of the dead. You may find what you seek there. My part is done"

The Seer Dragon rolled back over and nearly immediately began snoring, as far as he was concerned there was nothing more to say.

Furnace would have snorted in surprise at the appearance of the horse and the sudden feeling of hunger developing. But, eating the horse would not help with what they were doing so he gave one long, hungry look at the mare before continuing with his task of dragging the other dragons body. Crimsas deadweight left a large rut in the sand and soil as it moved.

Unknown to Furnace, the dead females mouth had slightly opened as though in response to the body being disturbed and dragged. However, what looked to be thick wisps of smoke released from the females doused inner fire issued from there, before they began to follow the line of Crimsas back and head towards the struggling male, concentrating only on his task.

((Uh-oh))

Alzaranth: Holdings of the dead?
Danikat: Burial grounds maybe? Didn't Inferno say something about burial grounds?
*Alzaranth swung her head from side to side, thinking. Remembering these details was supposed to be her riders job, a dragons memory was mainly visual. But Danikat hadn't been there, so now it was her job*
Alzaranth: Yes, yes he did. It was....along the river.
Danikat: The river of lava?
Alzaranth: Yes! Oh...can we go there?
Danikat: I don't know, lets find out.

*Danikat waves to the sleeping Coro and walks out of the hatchery, Alzaranth close behind and both on their guard for the smoke monster*

Danikat: She....he called it ''she'. I didn't know smoke monsters could have genders.
Alzaranth: DP is male and he is a cloud sometimes.
Danikat: True. I've met clouds, rocks, blobs of water....even that one mountain that all turned out to be people, why not a smoke monster?

*They emerge from the hatching caven and head towards the nearest bank of the river. Staying a safe distance away from the lava they begin to follow it*

((I can't find any description of where exactly the river leads, wether theres space to walk beside it or alternatively space for Alzaranth to fly above it, so I'll wait for a reply before they carry on.))

((Okay, okay, I'll post, just stop pming me you crazy woman! xD ))


Supaiku had been taught to wait. The red-haired alchemist had said that all good things come with waiting. Her feline student had been unnerved, arguing that people should get up and do things instead of waiting...

Mother seemed to trust the both of them... The dragonling thought, flaring his nostrils. The others had been down there for quite a while... Supaiku wasn't sure on how to handle the heat down there, and he didn't exactly have anyone to help him...

The bronze dragon turned away from the hole and started running awkwardly, giving himself a running jump into the air.

"Need some help?"

Supaiku called out cheerily before attempting to land on the beach (if you could it that- more like tripping, falling, and rolling onto the sand).

After shaking himself off, he approached Furnace and walked around the body, looking for some kind of good hold he could grab.

Then he stopped.

"Uh, Furnace..." Supaiku asked nervously, his stare fixated on the wisp hugging Crisma's back. "What's that smoke coming from your lady friend...?"


((I like the way Supaiku is developing in this thread... He's so awkward and clumsy and innocent. :3 ))

"Need some help?"

At the sound of the unfamiliar voice, Jun stopped and glanced up.

The mare, obedient to her owner, pauses as well.

Jun watched with a bit of amusement as the bronze dragon made its rather clumsy landing.

Her amusement was cut short at the sudden appearance of smoke coming from the dead dragon's mouth. Along with Supaiku, she voiced her concern.

"Furnace... please tell me that that smoke is of no concern...."

[Swix]

Furnace's red eyes followed the young bronze dragon as he crash-landed, rolling them at the younglings clumsiness. Maybe it was the oversized wings throwing Supaiku off.

The black and red dragon continued to drag even while Supaiku trotted around them, although he stopped in slight puzzlement at their concern over smoke.

~What are you two babbling about? Why would smoke be of any concern?~

While he was sending this, his gaze followed Supaikus until his eyes too met the stealthy 'smoke' flowing across Crimsa and towards him.

Furnace abruptly dropped the body and backed off, the smoke staying in the same position in the air.

"That's not right!"

Furnace bellowed, which teased what sounded like a long string of giggles from the 'smoke' as it got thicker

Inferno asked Alzaranth and Danikat as they emerged from the Nursery and began flying to their right, following the flow of the river until it would the opening to the burial chambers. The Elder seemed genuinely interested.

((Thanks for the description and map! For some reason even when someone gives me a very detailed description of what something looks like my mind ignores it when building a mental picture so I like to make sure I'm not getting things wrong.))

~Hmmm... It might be. We were all unaware of that, except for Coro it would seem~

Inferno said, his tail swishing behind and making extra large grooves where his spikes touched the floor.

~Try not to disturb too much in the burial chambers, I shall keep a watch to see if 'she' emerges from another room~

Supaiku watched the smoke in horror as it became larger. Furnace's yell further deepened his fear.

If someone like Furnace is afraid of it, it must be pretty bad...

The bronze dragonling crouched and hissed at the smoke creature, all muscles tensed for a battle.
