Hm, it's been a little while since I last stuck some art in here, and since some of our other resident artists have been posting up their works I figured I'd better not get slack, even if I'm just posting sketches (which I am, like almost always ).

A Brisican theme once more, as I (think that I) am getting better at drawing them . Anyways, first up is just a little page that I scribbled up that helps me get their proportions and everything right, so if you ever feel like trying to draw yourself a Brisican or two, this may or may not be of some help to you. You can see that this image was a little cut off at the bottom, well, the rest of it wasn't so helpful - it was more just a couple of random mutations that I was contemplating maybe throwing in at some stage or another (I probably won't, they look too weird imo ). Also a slightly old sketch of the Bris Tree, the only Brisican 'city' in existance atm. For comparison of size-ratio and all that (even though you probably can't see it), there's a sketch of a Brisican down the bottom of that one. Imo Boris isn't nearly ugly enough in that pic .

Finally, I began to contemplate what the future holds for the Brisicans. Shaon's gotten me into this old game called 'The Ur-Quan Masters' where you fly around space and interact with other races, which is also quite a large part of another old game I've been playing recently ('Master of Orion 2'), and all of this interaction stuff is really cool. I began to wonder just what the Brisicans would be like by the time they reach such a technological stage in their species' lifetime (assuming that they don't die out first), and so I came up with this sketch.

To explain it, the male is the one on the left and the female is the one on the right. The males appear to have taken to filing down their thorns, perhaps in an attempt to appear less savage and more civilized. The females on the other hand seem to have experienced a significant decrease in their 'helmet' size, it is now virtually useless for self defense sitting atop the female's head like a tiny umbrella, so I'd guess that it serves aesthetic purposes. Male clothing is fairly tight fitting and reasonably simplistic, not too well suited for flexibility but well suited for movement. Female clothing is the opposite - long and flowing, it couldn't be more impractical for movement, though given how loosely it fits around the female's tentacles flexibility is probably not a problem. Both males and females wear a belt that bears a symbol of some kind, though the belts differ slightly between the genders. I'm sure there's some other stuff in there that I haven't mentioned, but it was really just a random sketch that I felt like doing so I didn't exactly plan every little detail .

Anyways, enjoy viewers-of-3kul's-art, and feel free to provide feedback of any kind (praise or criticize, I don't mind so long as you can explain what parts you find good or bad). Hopefully next time I'll have something a little better drawn up.

Hahaha, yes, that's somewhat intended. I suppose that they must have met with several other intelligent species by this stage, otherwise they may not have thought of half of these things . One would assume that they attempted to mimic hats and such as an effort to appear more civilized and well-groomed or something like that.

It'd be cool to see the sketch that you've done Swix (and I have been reading it, mine's the latest post ), I'm kind of having trouble picturing what most of everyone's creatures end up looking like myself .

Felt kinda bored just now, so I went ahead and did some drawing. Rather than playing around with a pencil like I usually do, I instead did a couple of simpler drawings with a texta because that was all I could find. It's a bit different to my usual style, since I'm normally more worried about details and stuff, but I figured that I may as well put some of it up here in case people don't like my usual style (though the odds of such people seeing this are pretty low ).

Three Robots - the name is kinda self-explainatory. Middle one was drawn first, then the one on the right and then the one on the left. In case you can't tell with this, it's all just basic shapes .

Some kind of orge in a yak's skin? - the first thing that comes to mind when I see this thing is 'minion' or perhaps 'expendable peon' . I think I might intergrate it into one of my characters somehow, but I'll probably end up changing my mind about it later on...

That's all for now I guess, I might post some more stuff up over the weekend.

Anyways, all of these sketches are based on the changes I've been making to Little Sister (without actually having any of these being of LS herself )

Mystery Logo! - What does it meeeeeeean?

The Temple of Nothing - Alright, this is a pretty bad picture of the Temple of Nothing, but from the outside, this it what it looks like.

Tengu, a worshipper of Noten - Tengu is the more quiet worshipper of Noten, obedient to the God whilst silently disapproving of Little Sister's presence. The two blades that she has her hands on are called 'Nan' and 'Nen', special weapons given to her by Noten.

Buggane in Spider Form - Believe it or not, this is a sketch of Buggane, the most devout of Noten's worshippers. Totally obedient, he holds the God in high reverence and unlike his fellow worshippers he accepts Little Sister as the mortal embodiment of the will of Noten. Buggane has two forms, and this is the one he'll usually take on when outside of the Temple of Nothing.

Buggane Body - a rough sketch to give you a basic idea as to what Buggane normally looks like (minus his limbs ).

Buggane Sitting - an incredibly bad drawing that at least lets you get a vague idea as to how Buggane normally looks like.

Buggane's Face - Odds are nobody's ever going to see his face in an RP, but this is what Buggane's face looks like without the mask that he constantly wears.

It's been a while since I uploaded some art so I figured that since I've made a few changes to HE I might want to upload some pictures. There's a pretty obvious theme here, and that is of HollowEyes' new pet, Caton the Nekomata. I figured that people might want to actually see what he looks like (well, that, and I've also had these drawings lying around for a while ).

* How he looks most of the time - Pardon the blurry nature of that picture, I'm still using my webcam for this sort of thing and the picture itself is pretty small. But yeah, if Caton appears in any RP, assume that he's looking like this. That's the Ruby Dagger stabbed into his back btw, read HE's updated profile if you want to know why .

* Caton as a normal cat - Wow, this one turned out really badly, probably because it's almost all faint pencil lines. At the very least, it's gives you a good idea of how Caton's face looks. As for why the three scars look a bit like a gateway or something, well... I just think that they look cool like that .

* Caton style Chain of Despair Jaw + Ruby Dagger - In case you haven't read HE's profile update (I haven't really announced it or anything, so I wouldn't be surprised if nobody has ), Caton can be turned into a Chain of Despair, and when he's got the Ruby Dagger stuck into him it changes a little. Excuse the redness, I got a little carried away with this drawing... To be honest, I thought that it would look better with colour when I started, but now it seems a little much .

That's all for now, I probably won't be arting again for a little while (I've got a bunch of stuff to take care of) but when I do I'll be sure to put more up here.

EDIT: Wow, over 2000 views, that's a lot of refreshes Heh, well, I'm sure that I'm only responsible for about half of those... Maybe 3/4... Okay, 4/5, but no more than that! Yeah, but to be a little more specific it's a nekomata ('forked cat').

A nekomata is a Japanese mythical creature that's the next step up from a bakeneko ('monster cat'), which is a kind of ghost cat that is believed to have supernatural abilities. After a cat has aged for a certain amount of years or gained a certain amount of weight (accounts vary quite a bit in this aspect ) sometimes instead of it becoming a bakeneko it's tail splits in two and it becomes a nekomata. I've taken a bit of liberty with Caton and given him some powers of both bakeneko and nekomata, rather than exclusively one or the other, though to be honest it's actually quite difficult to track down any one specific definition (as with many similar mythical beings, there is quite a bit of cross-over between the abilities of bakeneko and nekomata).

But rather than have me go on explaining everything I think I'll just point you to a couple of interesting articles on the two if you want to find out a bit more:

The Obakemono project (the site which both of those articles are from) is actually a really interesting encyclopedia on Japanese monsters, I'd recommend reading through all of it if you're into that sort of thing as it's got quite a few stories in there too (along with some cool illustrations, I really like the art style that they use there ).

Another update, though this one's much more mysteeeeerious, in that I'm not telling you who or what it's of . I just thought that it turned out pretty cool .

I'm not entirely sure what it is about this picture that I really like, but it all seems to come together really well... My only regret is that I did it on crappy lined paper from a university notepad, NOOOOOOO!!!! D:

I try expanding on this one (I was too scared to do anything else to it in case I ruined it ), though I'll definately need to trace it or something first.

The second one, though I'm not too sure as to whether or not I'll ever bring such a combo into play. This was more or less created because I didn't really like the last version of HELS (HollowEyes+Little Sister) that I came up with. It was a little too... I don't know, obvious? It feels too much like what anybody would expect, which isn't really a quality that I like to have in my main character/s.

The newer version has been really interesting to draw, even if so far I've only come up with a few poor sketches. It's got a lot of influence from HollowEyes' body and not quite so much from Little Sister's, but considering that HollowEyes is the larger of the two and that his own body structure is far more 'solid' than LS (HE has a lot of bone structure, whilst LS has almost none) this kind of makes sense.

What else needs explaining? The large shield-like structure growing from the back of HELS' head down over his back is made of both bone and hair (the bone is reinforced by a complex network of hairs on the interior), which makes it both stronger and more flexible than the arm blades. The large claws are pretty much only suitable for combat, though as you can see HELS' arms are extending into the shield-like structure as if it has pockets - if need be, he can pull his smaller arms out to get other stuff done. Lining the bottom of the arm shield are many charms, and HELS' tail (easily recognizable as the same sort of hair used by LS ) would obviously play a large part in the usage of these.

His legs are the same as HE's, as they're made to take more weight than LS' legs, and the double horn is just there for the same reason as the markings around his eyes - because I thought that it looked cool . Eyes, eyes everywhere on HELS, much like on LS - 3 on his back, 2 on the interior of the arm shield and two in his head (7 in total, same as LS).

One thing that is immediately clear to me is that this HELS would be a lot less maneuverable than HE and LS as two seperate characters, but he makes up for it in terms of strength and defense (better in both of those departments than HE and LS). HELS is not the two Parasitian twins HE & LS, but rather an entirely new entity that shares similar characteristics with both of them.
