The Journey, The Fight, and The Unknown

[Yoshi]

"Well! Finally coming out of our shell? I don't see why you were hiding such a pretty face, you don't need to be so shy around old geezers. We don't tend to be to judgmental. But, about the boy, I have a bad feeling about him. He doesn't seem at all a nice fellow. We should make haste from here if we don't want him to bring friends, or something..." Yoshimasa knealt down and began to gather up his tea-things.

[Triona]

Nandini glanced behind her and gave him a very confused look. Whether he was trying to be supportive or sarcastic, she couldn't tell, but there were bigger things at hand to worry about such things right now.

'Friends?' She questioned, sounding instantly concerned.
Without waiting for an answer though, she began to walk into the forest.

[Yoshi]

"Wait! Where are you going in such a hurry? It's bad manners to leave in the middle of a conversation!" Yoshimasa hurriedly grabbed the remainder of his things and dashed after Nandini, "So, yes, friends. I doubt he's alone, and its obvious there are others nearby. No need to worry, but it would be better if we didn't just walk right into the danger, eh? I just hope they're a friendly sort."

[Triona]

'Friendly?'

Nandini made an odd sound that seemed like an attempt at a snort. One of her most irritating peeves since she had become this was that she could barely sound angry, let alone make a sarcastic snort.

'... Well no.'
Just in case he got the wrong idea.
'He nearly bit your arm off. Obviously he's not going to be serving crumpets with that tea of yours.'
She pointed out the obvious and sighed.

They had walked quite a bit in the forest now, and Nandini stopped for a second to take it all in at once.

(( Nandini can just be called Nandini, sorry if I offend, but my style is not to relate my characters to me in anyway. =P ))

[Yoshi]

"Well, you never know with his sort, biting you one minute and serving you feasts the next, perhaps. And, in any case, I can always see what I can do to... re-educate them about proper etiquette.", Yoshimasa picked a little yellow flower from the ground and stared at it intently, "How pretty. There never used to be flowers like this around here..."

[Triona]

'I see.'
Nandini answered curtly, trying her upmost to ignore his chatter. Just because she might have to work with him did not mean she needed to like him. At all.

'Why not try helping me by listening? Or at least getting your eyes off the floor.' Her voice was self-explanatory. She hated wasting time when it was critical, and these moments were critical. They could be attacked at any time.

[Yoshi]

Yoshimasa looked up from the flower and stared instead at Nandini, scrutinizing her with the same almost moronic intensity, "Calm down, now. If you get all tense, you become a obvious target. If our enemies are indeed what they appear to be, getting yourself worked up will be like blowing a foghorn and raising banners to signal our presence. Unless that's your intention, at which point I'm fine with that and will deal with them accordingly upon their arrival." Yoshimasa said this with a crooked little smile and winked, "You really are a curious sort."

[Rin]

As if happening to contradict what yoshi was saying there is a rustle in the trees, followed by a flash as something falls, a blur of red and gold as the three pointed object makes its way towards the ground, landing between yoshi's feet with a soft thud. Upon closer examination the object would be found as a sai, more specifically a blood soaked one that yoshi would recognize as belonging to Rin, an old friend of his. Whether this was a message or an attack on yoshi however would be left a mystery for now.

[Triona]

Nandini listened to what he had to say, though she was more concentrating far more on what was going around her then to actually listen properly.
She caught the sound of someone moving the trees, a very quiet rustle by an obviously experienced person. Yoshi was finishing up his little speech though and his last words caught her off guard and she snapped her head to him. 'Curious?! What do you mean-'

Her red eyes widened and she jumped back as something shot out from the trees and stuck itself into the ground.
'Darn!' She immediately thought, and searched the trees for any signs of movement. But his distraction had knocked her completely (even if it was her own fault) and whoever had thrown it was now far off.

'W-what is it?' Nandini recovered somewhat and started to approach Yoshi.

[Yoshi]

Yoshimasa remained unphased from the appearance of the blade, "Hmmm, so we really aren't alone. Oh well, more people to talk to. Lets get a move on, though. Its usually a bad idea to hang out in places where bloody swords fall from the sky.", Yoshimasa bent down and picked it up, examining it in his hands, "Ah... we are among at least one friend. No need to fear. But, I think I'll hold onto this...". Yoshimasa then stashed the blade in his pocket and strolled forwards on their path, but with bit more haste.

[Triona]

'Friend?'
Nandinis' eyes narrowed further at the word. Just what did he mean by that? Surely not the owner of the blade that had nearly sliced her throat?

Curiosly, she tagged along after him.

'What do you mean by that?

[Yoshi]

Yoshimasa slowed down a bit again as he began to speak, "I do believe this belongs to an old acquaintance of mine. You might possibly call him a friend. It does make you wonder why there are so many strange things happening all at once, though. Very abnormal...", Yoshimasa looked up at a bird flying overhead. He couldn't help but smile again, despite the situation.
