Mt.Neverrest:The Ascent

What the hell happened...?

With no light, Eldric had to rely on his sense of feel. What he felt was what seemed to be a tonne of bricks on him. Stuggling, he pushed against the rocks until they began to shift slightly, enough to allow a bit of light to slip through the cracks. And a bit of air too.

He immediately regretted take a deep breath however because it was filled with dust. Better than nothing though...

Heave one! Heave two!

At the point, Eldric had pushed enough rock and ruble away to make hole that he could poke his head through. Spotting the others, he called out, "Hey guys? A bit of help now would be much appreciated!" Eldric realized that the sight of a head popping out from rubble might be a frightening or hilarious sight, depending on what floated your boat, but dismissed any feelings of embaressment. There were more things to worry about now.

D heard the person ask for help and immediately said, "See? I knew there was someone down there." D then ran down the mountain to assist the guy who had been capture be the rockslide. He then removed the rocks from the area where the persons head was.

D used his strength to toss the bolders and rocks like they were simple pebbles. Not too often he thought about his strength while he was using it, but for some reason, he felt glad that he was strong enough to lift such wieghts. He could help the group of climbers overcome obstacles that they normally couldn't do by themself. For the first time, he was glad that the scientist changed him from his old ways. D didn't think deeply too often. He mostly still thought about how to help, what to eat, when to sleep, really natural things. When he did start to think about the whole strength thing, he remembered seeing something shoot off to the pokeball during the fuss about the bodies. he started to wonder what it was when he realized that it can from coolpikaaa. Also, now coolpikaaa was black! His thoughts slowly dwindled away unsolved.

D then snaped back to what was happening and decided to try and help the new boy from out of the rubble. "Do you want any assistance?" He asked.

Apparently D too had noticed some kind of movement at the base of the rubble heap. It seemed that they were both correct as a head poked its way out of the pile of rocks that had rolled their way down into the previous campsite. The head was assumedly attached to a body, as it called out for help for removing its assumedly buried body.

D immediately sprung down the mountain down to where the trapped person was. His powerful frame made his travel toward the entrapped person quick, and the removal of rocks and debris easy for him. As Zane watched, D got a preoccupied look on his face, and zoned out for a moment while heaving rocks too and fro. When he came to again, he asked the head that was down beside his feet if he needed any assistance.

Zane snickered to himself, but caught his reaction. Of course he needs help. But I guess that's no reason to laugh at D, is it?

"Hey, D!" Zane shouted down, "You'd best unbury him. I think that he's one of our climbers. I saw him in the tent last night. I'll be right down too. Just might take me a wee bit longer than you, ya big oaf!" Zane meant his jests all in fun, and his tone of voice reflected that. He was serious too, in a way, but not to be mean at all.

Slowly picking his way amongst the rubble and strewn boulders, Zane moved down to where D and this "newcomer" were. His slightly enhanced strenth helped him on his journey, but he was doubtful about how helpful it would be in moving such large pieces of rock.

Once he arrived on the scene, Zane began fishing around in his energy tanks and moving some of his stored energy to the surface. He then applied this energy to the rocks that surrounded the trapped man, and began slowly to levitate them out of the way. He made sure to do this carefully because he knew that if the rocks shifted wrong after he moved one of them, the person trapped might be crushed as the rocks rearranged themselves.

"D," Zane said, trying to get the saurian's attention, "Help me stabilize these rocks so we can get this guy out of here quickly, and not cause another rockslide."

[Leporidae]

Leporidae grumbled to herself as CrazyD became suspicous of the rocks below.

"Bah! Leave the poor corpse alone, will you? We'll come back to gather his/her remains after the climb."

Leporidae began to climb up one rock at a time. She turns around when she reaches the third rock. Apperently, whatever is under that rubble is still alive.

"Heh, what do you know! There's someone alive down there! I wonder if it can get out without falling over . . ."

Lep turns back to the rocks without much of a care for the person down there. She just wanted this over with so she can go back to the Black Forest. One hand was placed on the rock, and CrazyD was down there helping the poor kid. The other hand was placed, and Mr. Barret was helping him/her too. She calls out to the group below, her scratchy voice booming so they can hear her.

"Ok. I'll go farther up the mountain while you heave it outta there. The faster we get to the top, the better."

[CrazyD]

(ok... It just rained bronze arrows. Some special Event thing.Is that safe?)

"Don't worry about it! We got it completely handled!" D yelled back up in a sarcastic tone. He then turned around and realized that Zane was now standing beside him, and said something about helping to stabilize the rocks. "You got down here faster than I expected! Your fairly quick for a human!" D snickered to his comment. He ment it as a joke but then he started to realize that it was true. He seemed pretty fast. D suggested that Zane would have to be fast to come mountain climbing.

"You know, I could probably just block any rocks that fall. I belive I'm tougher than..." D looked at the newcomer. "What's your name? Still, I would rather be crushed than let this human take the impact! I could live through it.
Go for it. Remove these rocks. Then get him and yourself out of here. If nothing happens, like it hopefully won't, we can all walk back safely. If there is some sort of second rockslide, the people on the mountain may be at risk, but we'll get out of here where the main damage will be delt. Then we can assist the others. I think we should just get this newcomer out of here. The chioce is yours.

((I haven't been faithful to making new profiles... *fiddles thumbs* Here's a quick brief though. Eldric is a tall, lean-built male with messy dark hair and striking emerald eyes. He doesn't have any special powers or weapons except for a .44 magmum he keeps handy for self-defense. Just a regular human with detached emotions. He's a good shot however, and he's very resourceful which makes up for his short comings.))

"My name is Eldric," he replied rather calmly for someone who was stuck under rocks. And face to face with an... unfamiliar looking creature. He glanced over at Zane who seemed to be... levitating rocks?!? Eldric smiled grimly. It seemed as if it would be a rather perculier team he would be working with, but at least they were helping him out of this predicament.

"I can see your a bit shocked. Your not dreaming. Both Zane and I are real." D thought that may clear things up a bit. He then pulled Eldric out of the rubble, and nothing happened! Only a couple of small rock gently tumbled into the holl where Eldric was. "Thank God! I thought that was going to be a disaster!" D then ran up the hill and jumped infront of Lep to suprize her. He then got ready to stablize her incase she fell.

Zane ignored the calls of Lep who was hollering back down to them. If she's not gonna help, she's gonna get left out of the conversation, Zane decided, still maneuvering rocks and such, so as to free Eldric. It sounded like D had a similar idea, but his involved mocking Lep, which he proceeded to do. No need to antagonize her, but whatever makes you happy, D.

The corners of Zane's mouth curled up in a smile as D commented on his superhuman rock climbing abilities. There's a reason that I don't move quite like a human, D. A definite reason indeed. At this point though, Zane did not feel like sharing anything about himself. After all, he did have a body to unbury, right?

"Thanks for your offer, D, but I don't think we'll need you to sacrifice your body for the good of the group. I'm pretty sure that we can get this guy out without yanking him out and running from the probable second rock slide."

As Zane and D were still moving rocks out of the way, and bickering a little, the body spoke. It introduced itself as Eldric, and grimly looked after the proceedings that were going on to free the rest of his body.

"D, I don't really think that he's shocked much." Looking at Eldric you could see that this was very true. If anything, Eldric looked suspicious, or even bored. He didn't look surprised, shocked, or scared. A tough guy, at least in attitude.

By this time, a sufficiently stable hole had been cleared around Eldric's body. D took the initiative and unceremoniously removed Eldric from the hole. One might expect something dangerous to happen, like rocks cascading down from the shift in mass of the hill, but nothing catastrophic occurred. Just a few pieces of earth settling into the newly made Eldric sized hole was all.

Once Eldric was once again free, D quickly sped out of the area and up to where Lep was.

All righty then, D. We'll catch up to you. I guess.

Zane took no such drastic measures, but calmly went around and found all of the rocks that he had stored energy in, and extracted his power from them. There was no need to leave all that useful energy just sitting around in a rock. There was the possibility that Zane could have detonated the rocks just for the fun of it, but he also saw no good reason to waste the energy frivolously. As he moved about the rocky slope Zane addressed the green-eyed one, "So you name is Eldric, right?" Zane turned and offered a friendly hand, "I'm Zane. Good to see that the rocks didn't crush you. Another alive member of our climbing team is a wonderful addition." Zane referenced the dead body dispute that Eldric would have no idea about. "The trio up the hill consists of D, who you met, kind of, and Lep and Coolpikaaa. Lep's the cat, and Coolpikaaa's the little electric mouse. You can't miss him, at least, that is, if you don't step on him first."

"We should probably just get moving again. No point in shooting the breeze down here. We can talk on the way, if you want." With that, Zane pumped some extra energy in his metabolism, specifically his arms, and began to walk up the boulder strewn slope, on his hands. Zane's focus left Eldric, and shifted towards maintaining his balance and finding his next hand hold as he maneuvered his way up toward the rest of the group.

"I know I'm not dreaming.. though I do wish I was..." he muttered to himself, allowing himself to be pulled out of the rubble by CrazyD. Watching CrazyD bound up the hill, Eldric brushed off all the dust from his clothing with his hands.

Hearing Zane's voice, Eldric turned around to face him. Firmly, he took Zane's hand and shook it. Knowing that words were not neccessary, he merely nodded at Zane's brief introduction.

After Zane left, Eldric crouched down and slipped his knapsack off his back. The knapsack landed on the ground with a thud. Taking his time to inspect each piece of equipment, Eldric made sure that all of his items were still in good condition before zipping up the knapsack and slinging it back onto his back.

Satisfied that he was ready, Eldric began climbing the rocky hill, a few feet behind Zane. In response to Zane's offer of small talk on their way, Eldric replied, "I think it would be wiser if we placed our full attention on the task at hand instead," and continued to make his way up the hill.

Leporidae and CrazyD grab both ends of the Cracker and yank. It bursts open in a shower of drunk flying fish and a loud boom! Dazzling orbs of gold and green swirl through the air like fireflies as the remains of the party cracker disintegrates.

Plus I think you have to do something to it before it becomes backwards compatible.
im not sure though.
