While it is indeed convenient for a username to match your character's name, (Or one of them, for very few of us can say we have only one character!) my personal opinion is that any username is good so long as it meets the following criteria:

1. It's unique enough to be memorable.
2. It's easily spell-able... no "Hdzwertterezzziirttfunza"s.
3. Does not contain an ungodly number of numbers... please, no Dude6876749820521's.
4. If it's long and/or not easily spell-able, it has a short form. *points to GoliathBirdEater, who usually gets called GBE.*

Well, I think I feel thoroughly welcomed now.

*draws a large, industrial sized flamethrower out of his back pocket and hands it to Freak* *nudges Alakin over in front of Freak* *Pokes Freak repeatedly and then runs away like a fox with its tail on fire*

And as for sanity, I don't really have much of that. I would think that I would want to keep some of it around with me, in order to make sensible posts, but I guess sanity isn't required for making posts, only fingers and a brain, and an unsane brain is still a brain, I suppose.

My opinion on my own poll is that if you plan on having one character, like I plan to, your name may as well reflect your character's name. But if you have several characters, you should make a name that reflects you, and not your character. But I don't hold to either of those theories very strongly, and if you wish to deviate from them, I won't be too offended (although I may go retrieve that flamethrower from Freak)

I was just curious as to what other people thought about the user name business. The idea came to mind because I had to develop my own user name recently, and that is usually a time consuming process for me.

And now it's time to get back to polishing my character profile so that I can actually use my namesake: Zane Barret.
