Singles Round 1: Vromoth vs Coolpika vs SFOT

[GBE]

((Arena: It is a vast green land, with the occasional tree spotted about, and a forest just on the edge of the green plain circling around from the right to the left, in a semi-circular fashion. To the right is a large lake, several metres deep, and at least twenty feet in length and thirty feet in width. Around the plain there are a few boulders spread about randomly. There are most likely rocks and stones spread around somewhere.

[Coolpikaaa]

Coolpikaaa studied the sign attached to a tree. It looked as if this was the moment he had been waiting for, the 2007 Blackstar Olympics. The sign showed who was competing and he cringed when he realized his name had been spelt wrong.

"Ah well....just a few "A"s..."the pikachu thought as he glanced around the land. No one had shown up yet and the nearby pond looked clean and blue, perfect for a swim.

"Might as well enjoy it while I wait..."Coolpikaaa said to the air as he plunged into the water.

Lexi watched Coolpikaaa from the safety of the forest. She was begining to wonder why she let herself sign up, anyway. Her fear was sure to make her loose.

She shrugged and moved back into the shade, carefuly checknig her blades were covered. A glint now could get her spotted, and that was the very last thing she wanted. The girl started to wave her horns around to stop people trying to rush her from behind. Every sence was on high alert. As soon as she spotted her other oppenant, the better.

[Coolpikaaa]

Coolpikaaa paddled around under the water's surface.He had done a complete lap and had come up for air when he saw what looked to be something moving in the forest.He had dismissed it as a branch in the wind,when he remembered this was an olympic match and things were not always as they seemed.
He paddled to the bank and shook off the water quickly before cautiously moving toward the forest edge.

Lexi carefuly watcehed Coolpikaaa get closer, and reached out to grab a branch off the ground. Somebody had once told her she had a great throwing arm. It was about time she tested this out.

She aimed at Coolpikaaa, and threw the stick overarm. Once it had left her she turned and ran, not wanting to be found.

[Coolpikaaa]

Before coolpikaaa could even get close to the forest,a branch flew out,cutting him in his paw.
He landed back down on all fours,and charged ahead into the forest,using his speed to follow whatever had thrown that branch.

((Oh man, I better get posting))

Vromoth can be here, he can be there and sometimes nowhere but as for now he was lying in a small ditch watching the seen unfold. Maybe, if he waited long enough he would only have to kill one gladiator which was much more preferable under the circumstances.

With his head low and body flat Vromoth slowly pulled himself a bit more out of the ditch. The lunatic Pokémon was charging quite quickly towards the forest, “Yes, only a lunatic would be running in the open like that” he muttered with a shake of his head. But now it was becoming quite obvious that he was chasing something, mabye. Vromoth crawled out some more, enough to see what lay before him, the Pokémon was gone for now but there was still the other one to consider, were was she? Was that what the Pokémon one was chasing, it was a good bet but still he had to be sure. So with that in mind he crept back down into the ditch and made himself comfortable, it was going to be a long haul.

Lexi heard somebody chasing her and started to put into practise a few tricks she'd learnt while living in the forest that had served as her home. She moved her hooves so less of them were hitting the ground which also reduced sound, and tilted her head so her horns wouldn't leave any trace of her passing unless a low branch swiped her.

Content she was now a hell of a lot harder to track, she turned to the left sharply and sped on, going further into the forest and possibly leaving her follower behind. She smiled something grim. She had to win this match, even if she never fought anybody during the course of the match.

[Vromoth]

((Come on coolpikaaa I've been waiting for you to post. I don’t know were you are and I have to post, so I guess you freeze at the moment))

Vromoth lay calmly(or what seemed calmly) steering at the sky counting his ten fingers as the breeze blew his humming tune away. A bird chirped, a frog croaked and the chipmunks scuffled in the trees, then without warning Vromoth sprang from his ditch with a pained and frustrated look on his face,

“To much quite! Arrrrr! Where’s that dam horse!”

Vromoth hastily stretched his wings then opened them and caught the slow breeze, which it turned out that it was not ‘quite’ enough to get him into the air. But that was easily fixed, with a few strong flaps and quite a few air stumbles Vromoth was flying very low over the grassy field. Where was that horse! What was its name? Lexi? Yes, that was it. Now if any bird or flying beast had looked into Vromoth’s eyes they would almost have bean able to see the gears ticking over in his head as he tried to figure out the goings on.

The Pokémon, what was she doing?.... That’s right she was running around doing nothing letting herself be seen until she ran into the….... That was it! The forest! Where else would a horse be? Unless they lived in the desert…

And with a few sturdy flaps, Vromoth was high enough to see through the tree tops of the forest and there, running very quickly and very quietly was the horse Lexi. And with that Vromoth opened his wings out to there full extent and guided over the forest just a little behind the horse called Lexi.

((Sorry, I have been distracted by RL things, also I be a HE ))

Coolpikaaa knew he would lose the creature in the forest so he stopped and gave up. Knowing there was another opponent somewhere around the arena, coolpikaaa raced back into the field.

He instantly had the feeling he was being watched. He took a quick look around and saw no one so he dismissed the feeling. Then he saw the shadow drop into the forest and knew something was up. He ran all the way back and dashed between trees trying to catch the flying creature.

"I hope this works....."Coolpikaaa breathed out as he pushed off the ground and sailed through the air using all the momentum gathered from running here. The plan was to land on the winged creature's back, but even Coolpikaaa doubted he would make it.

[Vromoth]

((I could swear that I heard somewhere that coolpikaaa was a girl, sorry))

((I thought I was above the trees, so you must be a very high jumper))

Vromoth, with all his height and speed, new all to well the he could not glide for ever with such little breeze under wing and when it came down to it if he needed to flap, Lexi would most certainly out endure him which meant he was left with one of two choices. Back off and save his strength or two, straightforward attack. And after the intense boredom of the ditch he was not looking forward to another round, which sadly left number two.

With a sigh Vromoth stealthily tucked his wings to his side getting ready for a dive, it would not really increase his speed that much, but it might just be enough to catch that horse!

There was a crunch below, then the air whistled with speed, now if Vromoth had eyes on the back of his head or even if he had been paying more attention he may have seen the shadow looming above him and took action, but the pursuer had also been subjected to the world of multiple possibilities, he had not known that Vromoth would go into a dive increasing his speed or the fact that electric Pokémon don’t do all that well against fire types.

The pursuer flew through the air smacking into Vromoth’s tale sending him swirling through the air. Branches scraped and tore at Vromoth’s wings, swirling and twirling Vromoth hit the ground making an awfully loud thud. Rage slowly brood up in Vromoth as he painfully pushed himself to his feet. In his uncontrolled unjust rage Vromoth powers went loose, trees erupted into flame, sparks flew, but all this did not harm Vromoth. It would be time soon, soon.

Lexi looked around to check she'd left her pursurer behind and saw Vromoth start to dive. One branch that had snapped off a tree smacked her in the back, driving her to go faster. Adrenilin was bounding through her veins. She turned a sharp right, now screaming madly as thetree's around her burst into flame.

"Fire bad! Must leave fire alone, flee, find safety!"

These thoughts rampaged around her head. Sparks fizzeled out of existance on her skin, burning her. A tree behind her, somewhere over to her left, burst into flame. The terrife creture pulled off another sharp right.

She had to get out of here.

((That I can Vromoth.Actually,I think I just got lucky with this jump,maybe some sort of hidden super-pika power or something ))

Coolpikaaa barely landed on the creatures tail,and quickly struggled to not fall off.When Vromoth dived down,and fire shot everywhere,Coolpikaaa tried to remember why he had signed up for the olympics.

"I REALLY hope we don't hit those trees....."

Coolpikaaa did end up hitting the trees.

He almost immediatly was thrown off Vromoth's tail,sailing back up a few feet.He saw the creature he had just been flying on hit the ground before the branches snagged his fur and held him high above the opponents.
