As I've said in Return of Blog O Rama, my bf's cat died last week. (Don't worry, I haven't started this just to announce something like that Razz) thence came the strange happenings...

I've long known the house is haunted. There's a woman who walks about upstairs, a grey cat who generally roams the house and I hear, often leaves indents on hi smums bed as though he's been sleeping there.

There's also a... something in the kitchen and bathroom. We're not sure what it is, but it doesn't appear to be as benevolent or friendly as the other two. I've seen this whatever it is and the cat, but not the woman.

Now, the strange happenings after Niko, the cat died are these:

The day after, before we buried him, I went in the bathroom. The door to the bathroom is in the kitchen and faces the back door, which the cats usually open to go out. My bf owns one other cat, called Kipper, who was lying on the chair in the living room. Both Niko and Kipper are black and white cats.

As I opened the door to leave the bathroom, I heard scratches then the back door opening, which is what usually happens when a cat opens the door by itself. As the now more open back door came into view I saw a cats back legs and tail disappear outside. I saw it with crystal clarity as well, so I naturally assumed that it was Kipper that had just gone out.

However, when I walked back into the living room, I saw Kipper still lying asleep in exactly the same spot as he had been before I went in the bathroom. After I make a comment about my being surprised at seeing him there and that I thought he'd gone outside, everyone told me that he hadn't moved from that spot since I'd got up and walked out.

The second one happened far more recently, last Saturday in fact, at about 8:30 as I walked up the path to my bf's house from work. It was pretty dark too, but the sky was very clear.

As I walked up to the open gate a saw a shadowy figure on the ground, smack in the middle of where you'd step if you went through the gate without looking where you were going. As I got closer, I could clearly see the 3D outline of a cat lying down, paws tucked underneath it's body and it's head held up. At first, I thought it was my mind playing tricks on me, but it stayed there for so long that that notion was soon disposed of. In fact, I walked right up to it and slowly put my foot towards it, just in case there really was something there that wasn't just a shadow. But my foot went right through it, and still it stayed there.

It only disappeared when I got to the door and turned round to see if it was still there.

Call me crazy if you want, I know what I saw and this is one of very few places I'd actually announce I can see things. Sometimes I can feel them, that's why I don't like that whatever it is in the kitchen.

I think both times it may have been Nikos ghost, but even if not I still saw them. I know the top one is easy to rationally explain away (another cat may have come into the kitchen perhaps, but there's only really one that does that, and she's a toroiseshell and white), but can you explain the second one?

I wouldn't dare call you crazy. My sister, who is 30 and a full blown Christian almost to the point of fanatacism, is the most honest person I have ever known, and has never lied...except for telling stories to her children about tooth fairies and the like, but that doesn't count. Rolling Eyes

Anyway, when she was younger, she experienced this sort of thing all the time. She saw a friend of hers levitate, she's played with Weegie boards and they have moved on their own. Supernatural occurances are very real. The causes vary, be they spirits of beings passed on, or Satanic influence, whatever your belief may be...but I won't venture into that discussion. Just be careful, they can be a lot more powerful than you...

I've seen things like that in my house too, I've been convinced it was haunted since we first moved in there when I was 5, and I've lost count of the number of things I've seen.

Our pets will regually look as if their watching someone walk across a room when theres no one there, they'll look up at doorways and things when nothings happened, even start growling at nothing.

And I've seen things several times as well, both human and animal shapes. I still see one of our old cats walk into the room every now and then and he's been dead for years. And theres a few spots in the house where I never stand if I can help it because it gives me chills. When I tell other people they tend to agree with me.

Personally, I think you're letting your imagination get the best of you. You probably did see a cat darting out side, but who's to say it was kipper? And the 3D shadow-cat thing was either a dream or a trick of the eyes, like those 3D sidewalk art things.

And EnD's sister is probably having herself on a bit. Levitation? Weegie boards that actually work? Did she actually see this stuff, or was it heresay?

Personally, I think dozens of things are much more likly than satanic ghosts-cats come to haunt you from the beyond. Ooooo!!! Razz

Your sister uses Ouija (sp?) boards EnD? I heard that can be dangerous. The family I grew up with is very sceptical, and whenever I told them things as a kid they'd always as dismiss it as simply 'it's just your imagination' and leave it at that. It's rather annoying, especially when not offering an actual explanation for it.

I see things in my house too Danikat, I've heard things and felt things and none of them can I explain. I once heard someone walking up the stairs, only to stop at my door. After which I heard nothing, and went downstairs to ask if anyone had come up. No-one had, my brother and mys sister were in bed and both mum and my stepdad were downstairs.

Like I said Net, I can think of a rational explanation for the first one, although it does entail putting a completely unknown cat sniffing about in the kitchen, but hey, it's more rational...

Seriously, can't you come up with a better explanation than 'you were just dreaming?' Especially considering that I had been at work since 3 in the afternoon, and that I was walking home from work and got there at 8:30 at night? I was wide awake, and it was damn cold too.

Trick of the eyes, I thought of while it happened, or maybe it was some other animal, but it wasn't.

What's 3D sidewalk art out of interest?

3D side walk art is basically a drawing from chalk that, when looked at in a certain angle, makes a 3D picture. However, they have to be looked at in just the right angle- other wise they come out flat and misshapen.

I'll try and find a famous artist who does this for you...

Edit: Got it =p

http://yoke.cc/sidewalk.htm

So, Nettles... If it was indeed side walk art, then why did it not appear misshapen when she went past it or got too close? And why was it gone the next morning? =p

Magical rain? =p

This is 3d sidewalk art. The person may look like he's standing on top of a globe, but when viewed from the side, you realize the globe is actually stretched a long distance along the pavement, and it only looks right from a certain angle.

And as for my sister, yes, she has seen and done that sort of thing. She stopped after becoming a Christian. But her utter and total hate for Harry Potter, and all other fictional magic, I don't think is caused just by being a fanatic Christian...She has this dislike, almost paranoia about me liking something like Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl, because it deals with curses and 'reflects on her past dealings' way too much, or something like that.

Check out Julian Beever. He does a lot of 3D Pavement Art.

As for ghost cats? I remain skeptical, but I know plenty of other people who have ghostly experiences. Personally, I guess I'm not very much a spiritual person, and doubt I will be until something spooky and convincing happens to me.

I've had unusual experiences before, but I've always assumed it was down to something else. Like one time a few years ago, my parents went on holiday and I was home alone for the week.

At this time, I didn't have a computer of my own so I was sat downstairs on the family computer, when suddenly I heard a loud slamming noise come from the back garden. Looking out of the window, I could not see anything or anyone, but the gate was swinging on it's hinges as though it had been flung open. Now, I knew I'd closed it earlier because it was the day before the bins were collected, so I'd been through our gennel to put the bin out, and I always close that gate if I come through it.

I went to investiagte outside, after getting a kitchen knife from the drawer just in case, but I didn't find anything. However, since then, our gate never closed properly until they got a new one a few months ago. I believe it was just one of the neighbour's kids who just decided to kick it open and ran. Probably on some sort of dare.

Oddly enough, my girlfriend actually thinks that house is haunted. Personally, I never felt anything of the sort, and I was born there.

Julian Beever is the person we've all apparently been talking about then. >>

You know, I can't tell you the number of things that I've had happen to me.

There was a little girl in a pink church dress sitting buckled in the passenger seat of my moms car, staring at me. However, it was night (everything seems to happen to me at night now >>) and out of the corner of my eye. When I turned back, she wasn't there. That one can be explained as a trick of the dark.

Another tricky one was the leg of a man in white pants and black shoes sticking out from under a bush near my drive way (it was a big bush, so a grown man could have easily hid under there). However, I didn't go near enough to check it, as it freaked me out and I didn't want some creepy guy jumping out and kidnapping me. I went inside and got my mom, and we came back out. In the five minutes it took to do that, I couldn't see the leg any more. We checked the bush, and no one was there. But then again, it still could have been a trick of the dark.

Another one was where I was in the house all by myself. I had just gotten out of the shower and had balled up my towel. I threw it on the floor, and went to go get dressed when Frito called. I got the phone, and walked back into the bathroom, only to find that the towel I had balled up was laying flat pressed out side of the bathroom, somewhat like a door mat. It made me a tad nervose.

These next ones are a tad creepier though. It was early morning, and the sun was rising. I walk out of my moms room (the shower is in there as we weren't allowed to use our own bathroom shower once my grandma took it over) and headed back to my room. On the way there, I looked out of our window and spotted a dark, lumpy shadow on our porch. It was all black, and about the size of a man- but the sun was coming up, so I could clearly see it. It was crouched over, and didn't have a head. Then, it ran off of our porch and dissapeared.

And the final one I remember was another time coming out of the bathroom. It was morning again, before school, and I had just walked out of the bathroom door, when all of a sudden I saw the shape of this guy, handing from a noose on our celing fan. Light was seeping through the windows and I could see he was in a ratty white outfit. He was very still, and wasn't even swaying, then all of a sudden he began to lurch about as if he were screaming without any noise. And then, he went still again. I looked away, and looked back, and he was gone.

You know, I would really like a good explanation for those last two. Those were really creepy, and I don't think I can just ride them off as a trick of the dark. seeing as how light was involved in both scenarios. I'm somewhat glad I don't live in that house any more as well- even though it was brand new built, and so no one could have really died there, if it even was haunted.

Frito has a story of his own that I remember, but I should let him tell it himself. More posts for him that way. =p

After my cat Bizzy died I swear I kept on seeing her all over the house.

And when I was younger, I kept on thinking I could see ghosts with silver weapons everywhere. Each time, they'd point said weapon at me and saysomething along the lines of "One day, you will join our ranks" and I never worked out what that means. Strangely enough, I haven't seen one ever since I told somebody about them.

I too remain skeptical of things like this because I've never seen anything crazy or creepy. People say it could be a trick of the dark, trick of the light or something but what about trick of the mind? It could have just been imagination taking over. But now we are just going onto psychology. Wink

Google it, you'll be amazed Wink.

As for my explanation, the question is, can you come up with better? At least, better that's still bound into our current scientific understanding of the universe?

@Ashen: That creepy guy was most definitly NOT me. <.< >.> I was in the other one.

Things like this used to happen to me all the time, and they still do.

The first time it ever happened was when I was reading the first Harry Potter, a while back. Anyways, while I was reading this I saw, out of the corner of my eye, a figure (human, but I couldn't determine the gender.) It was wearing a robe made of furs wrapped together, and was standing in my doorway, staring at me. I turned, blinking at the same time, and it was gone. This could have been a trick of the dark, but it wasn't, since it was on the border (doorway) of a lighted room and a dark room. By the way, this was at approximately one in the morning. I checked.

As I said, stuff like this happens unusually often to me, and I'm sure there is at least a malevolent spirit in my bedroom. I always have nightmares of it creeping up and strangling me, and once, when I woke up from one of the said dreams, I saw it (a pale-white, humanish figure, with no features) crawling on the ceiling above me. This could be a hallucination, or an optical illusion, and I hope it is. I sleep in my parents' bedroom now.

Stuff like this IS real, and scientifically proven. (Ball lightning, spontaneous combustion, st. elmos fire, whill-o-the-whisps)

Well, it seems we've all had our fair share of the supernatural.

I've always hated spiders... One time when I was on the computer (when am I not? >_>; ) I remember glancing upwards to see a one-foot spider staring at me from the wall (I live in the 'attic', so part of my room is slanted). After I fell off my chair out of surprise, it went away. o_o

Then I remember for about a week I kept seeing skeletons (this was when I was about nine or ten)- I had been in a car crash recently, so maybe it was the dead trying to claim me? Laughing

*cricket chirping*

...Uh, nevermind. (They seemed to follow me everywhere, though... *shudders* )
