The Owl Sensei

Well, after a long, un-neccessary delay, caused almost entirely by a depressing lack of communication, I have been elected and have accepted the post of Owl Sensei. Well, I was actually elected back in November but wasn't notified of the poll's existance until just a few days ago.

I haven't got the belt requirements carved out yet so I'll post those as soon as I can, in the meantime I might as well find out who's interested in joining the clan?

The definition of an Owl is as follows:

I probably could have had all the Belt Requirements done by now, but my brain is chewed up by evil schoolness, so for now, we'll just start with the Green Belt:

Free belts? I'll nab one if I may, based on my exploiting 3kul's weaknesses in the Challenge arena getting a mantis belt.

Making multi-functional posts should show some of this style as well.

Perhaps for Blue, have been in two RPs and/or show evidence of turning a situation around/guiding an RP?

Example: A group of people is rping in a cave. I don't wanna. I pm you saying that I'm going to try and change the situation, and join the RP. I "find" a way out of the cave, the RP is now based somewhere else, I get a blue belt.

Just posting to recommend Kat for the belt (if that's cool with you EnD), as she kicked Sao'tal's ass all over the place in our fight. I can't think of any weaknesses that she didn't end up exploiting, I couldn't have walked into a worser situation .

As for Kat's idea with the belt requirement, it's not a bad one, but it'll get annoying to some people to have their threads twisted around in the wrong direction. I'm not sure what else you could do, but I guess so long as not too many people get into it it's not such a problem.

I would suggest the following concepts for Blue Belt:

Participated in a second (possibly third, as well) RP Campaign / Challenge - an Owl who is not involved cannot be an effective Owl, after all.

A possibility - Perhaps your fledgling Owls could propose some sort of manipulation of which they inform their Sensei of before commencing. It would have to be something that would be possible without powerplaying (perhaps recruiting a formerly neutral or hostile character to your side, securing a double agent or becoming one yourself, or more sinister, turning former allies against each other.)

Something which would demonstrate the Owl's key attribute of setting things in motion. The less interference used to accomplish this, the better; certainly no form of Powerplaying would be allowed in any case - ideally, no one but the Owls should know that things have been turned by their hand (feathers?).

True to your cooments, I'd suggest Embri's ideas over my own. Perhaps my suggestion should be saved for aspiring masters of the style? Overuse is much less likely then.
