I had a guy like that after me once and it got a bit ugly because I felt sorry for him at first and was slightly nice to him.
Trust me, it took a lot to get me out of that situation. Just try and ignore him, and yell at him or something if he doesn't stop.

I have checked the rps and decided to start with Risen City, at least for now. I might join more later, but for now just that.

I like it because there is very little reading involved with getting started and I understand what's going on. And the poor guy could use some help. His idea is decent, he just needs some people.

But I think I'll pm him and let him know that I'm playing with him now. Otherwise he might have given up on it and not check it anymore.

I just checked the date of that thread. It was posted almost a year ago. In a years time, the poster of that thread could've died by now. I consider the chances of him coming to check it to be immensely slim.

It's an unsurprising mistake. You'd be better off starting in an RP in The Wilds, that's currently the most active RPing subforum. You can always make your own if there isn't a suitable RP running at the moment.

Problems can occur when bringing up old RPG threads like that. "Risen City" was set somewhere in the beginning of the dojo, about three or so years ago (Not RL years). Joining now with Pitch and Dralacour would mean that leave came to the dojo a little after it was created by the DarkPsycho. When you go to a new RPG with Pitch and/or Dralacour, the two would already be a few years older. Another problem is that it might wreck the time line.

Example: If Holloweyes found out that Little Sister wanted to eat him (not jokes), then the time line would have been corrupted.

You can go with Net said on going to or making your own RPG.

Mm, we don't have too many rules around here for what you can and cannot do in a RP, especially if you're up front about it - for example, if you REALLY wanted to Powerplay like a fiend, you could make your own thread for it, as long as you posted very clearly up front that Powerplaying was going to be featured (and who could or could not). Not sure if you'd get anyone joining you, but in theory, possible.

There's nothing wrong with reviving old RP's, so long as they're not tied into our "timeline" so to speak. Even then, this IS Psychotopia, and stranger things have been known to happen... just throw in a an explanation. (temporal anomaly, warp mishap, everyone passes out for three years from the smell of a rotting Mutant Chicken, or the like..) Probably also a good idea to check with the thread's creator to make sure they don't mind you reviving the dead RP. I'd hazard that the majority of people won't mind at all. Wink

Hypo-thetically speaking, if I wanted to start an rp that took place in ancient Egypt (due to a time rip or equally kooky occurance) which subforum would that go under?

I figured it's either in the Wilds or the Southern Unexplored Region. But then it could maybe fit under Dojopolis as an urban rp too.

I'd say The Wilds. The unexplored regions are for things set in the Dojo.
