I was wandering through the forum just now and was very suprised to find Yoshi had been awarded a green owl belt.

It took me a moment to work out why this should seem odd and then it hit me: I'd only just approved him for a yellow belt on the 21st, meaning he was only barely eligable to apply for a red belt and at least a month away from being eligable for a green belt.

In Yoshi's case I don't have too much of a problem with it because I was pretty much certian he would pass for a red belt (although it would have taken him time to get the required number of RP participations). But it does concern me that people might be getting away with skipping the system, theres not much point in having requirements for the diffrent levels if people are allowed to bypass them at will.

Hmm, maybe Al can hack something up to disable items for people who aren't advanced enough to use them. That way you can't buy a green belt talisman until you'd escalated to a red belt.

I'm sorry, this is an error on my part. He was the only one thus far who had actually applied to be an Owl. All my other recruits were by invitation. I looked through his roleplaying and deemed that he was good enough to be accepted as an Owl. If I had known that he had been so recently promoted to Yellow Belt I would have waited before accepting him into my ranks.

I get the impression that one has to buy something from the Stores in order to advance? Having assumed the rank of Sensei at a time the stores were down (and they still are), I was not aware of this..
Again, my apologies for mishap, I should have consulted a little more before promoting him. What can I say? I'm a rookie at this!

On that note, I agree that there should be some safeguard to prevent this sort of thing happening in the future.

The stores are currently down, yes, though I've been giving out talismans to those who ask me directly for them, because of this. It is possible that AL or DP could create some such system.

Under normal circumstances, Dojodians must purchase the appropriate Talisman from the Tribal Pool store for the belt they wish to apply for, use it to generate a PM, and send their request.
