Gaurdians vs The EC

I want something long and dramatic, something that will really stick with you. I don't want some little pitter-pattery fight. That wouldn't be any fun to watch, judge, or take part in. Especially because its the only team fight and the teams are bitter rivals. So, I'd like a Forest, Meadow, or Random Arena for some good, pure combat and not too much environmental worry in the first two. The last one would allow for quite a bit of suprise and drama. What do the rest of you think?

I agree. The EC and the Guardians are the only real major organizations in the Dojo, apart from the different Style Clans, of course. They should be given a lot time to slug it out. They may be about equal in skill, but we all know the EC has more influence...look at who has the most Style Sensei's!

I'm not really fond of that fact, to tell the truth. The EC hegemony is really annoying. If I had my way, the Style Sensei's would have to be independent to ensure fairness and equality among the groups. I'm not in charge, though. Far from it.

The EC hasn't lasted for nearly 7 years because they were an irrisponsible mob of idiots. We are easily the most qualified to be Sensei's around here for a reason. Remember, the Honorable Sensei himself was once our leader. That's got to mean something.

I never said you were an irresponsible mob of idiots. I have a great respect for the EC. I just don't like one group being in charge like the EC is. However, I'd rather have the EC in charge than many others. I think the EC does a fairly good job monopolizing, and I mean that seriously. But, we are off topic, we should refrain from such bandying within such a specified topic in such a specified place.

Just to clear matters up, the EC does have the greater number of talented roleplayers on their site, that doesn't mean Blackstar and the Gaurdians have none!

Back to choice of arena, I quite enjoyed the urban environment of the last fight, the buildings added a new dimension to the battle and my tower of cars and garden-sheds was pretty ingenious IMO, at least until someone decided to play Jenga with it.

I think a good idea for an arena would be an idea I suggested for the last olympics: An asteroid belt, where each asteroid contains a different environment. Two could just be grassy planes, where the teams would start, and in between would be all kinds of challenging environments, from volcanoes for those fight-to-the-death-on-a-rickety-wooden-bridge-suspended-above-boiling-hot-magma moments to forests filled with blood-thirsty nitpickers and cities controlled by evil middle-aged biker gangs.

14 days, 'cause this is a big match and we've only got two teams entered.

Net, that idea, sounds intriguing, and don't forget, as judges, there is the power to interfere unnecessarily, and throw situations in. If you thicken out the rules for the arena, gravity wise, distance between asteroids, and how to get to each one, then you might just have the first match to be posted up...

Everybody is equiped with a special jet-pack which they use to propel them onto other asteroids. The jet-packs also tell you how close the sun is to going supernova, and how close your asteroid is to being destroyed by a solar flare. However, these jet-packs need fuel, so for the love of sweet merciful god don't waste them. I'm still paying off the last time I had to refuel them. In the 1600s, as a matter of fact. A great time for jet-packs, honest! You just might want to be a bit delicate with them, they've been in a closet for the last four centuries.

There's a thin belt of asteroids of varying sizes in a very close orbit around the sun. The sun is also about to go supernova and therefore is veery sensitive. So that's problem #1.

Problem number #2 is also sun-related: This sun is particularly active, if you don't recognise the signs soon enough or simply aren't quick enough, the asteroid you're on (and therefore you) could be disintegrated in a solar flare.

Thanks to Dojoian tampering, there is an ecosystem on each asteroid, with air, water and all kinds of plant and animal life. In order to sustain this, there is a barrier between the asteroids and the sun, which stops heat, radiation and other such like from destroying you instantly. Problem #3 is also simple: Pass the barrier, and die.

Problem #4 is the vaccuum of space. We aren't giving you a space suit, so you'll have to hold your breath, shut your eyes and hope for the best. Additionally, this means you can't simply 'skip' an asteroid, you have to land on the next closest one for air and heat. And before you say anything, I know the cold would kill you instantly, so I'm just gunna say DP magicked it so that didn't happen for the purposes of a good story, m-kay?

Finally, problem #5 is the environments themselves. Volcanoes, mountains, giant sludge monsters, plenty of things to challenge you whilst you search for the enemy.

The only real problem is time. Even 14 days isn't enough, I know I wanted to continue last olympics, and if we choose this arena the two might not even find each other before the 14 days are up. Maybe we should just skip the time limit and end it when all the judges think they've done enough? That way we know we've got enough to judge them with properly.

Net might be on to a point, I had a team fight, a 14 day one, and there were only me and Swix roleplaying. We barely even put a scratch onto one another. But, I'm not sure about an 'unlimited' match. You have got to judge it after all. You don't want a ten page spread to read...? Do you..?

As you may know from previous threads, I'm quite in favor of limitlessly huge battles. I don't mind judging something like that at all. However, I have to say I don't like the asteroid idea much.
