Inactivity

It seems like there's not that many people trying to upgrade their belts to individual styles, which is something that needs fixing (otherwise there's no point in having the belt system, is there?). This is not just a recent problem either (I am well aware that the store system is currently down), some styles have been lacking in supporters for quite some time now.

This thread is open for discussion, ideas or complaints in regards to this.

Speaking from my own point of view, I can't say that I'm having too many problems with getting new members to become Mantis belt bearers. I'm hoping to get a few more new people from the current recruitment drive - Kat is the newest Mantis belt bearer, with a couple more hopefully sorting their requirements out. Having the store system down doesn't prevent me from giving out belts, it just means that I have to keep track of those who've paid and those who have not.

However, I am having a bit of a problem with getting people to advance - aside from Goron (who couldn't approach me fast enough ), nobody's spoken to me about upgrading their belts to a blue rank or better. Any ideas as to how we can get more people interested in upgrading?

Currently, there is no real "reason" to upgrade. That might be why there seems to be little motivation for members to advance...

So we need some kind of a bribe- I mean... erm... reward. Yes.. >.>

If the new store system was up, there would be quite a number of options for rewards. Special style only items, for example, or some such thing.

Anyone have a good idea of what carrot we can dangle in front of the Dojodians to motivate them to get their belts?

Well, from my point of view, we lost a lot of our roleplayers over christmas as so many people had no choice but to go inactive. With that, quite a few roleplays of various size and popularity also died as there was not enough support for them.

Another problem is some members only seem to partake in just roleplay and the, when that dies, they go away. We need to somehow encourage members to join other roleplays. They don't have to have a big part, but if we could set up a roleplay that will encompass everyone in one way or another, and incorporate the belt system, we may find success.

I suppose now is the best time to unleash forth one of my ideas, and it'll need every Sensei's help and input if I'm to really get the thing going and working. It may be a good oppurtunity for you to continue roleplaying Embri.

The Idea:

I've had this idea for some time now, and its kind of based on Sky High if you've ever seen it.

Basically, people can enter their characters, or create new ones to fit in the roleplay.

We take the premise of a superhero school and roleplay it. It doesn't have to be super hero school. It could just be a place for characters to develop their skills, powers and general intelligence.

I for one have a never ending list of characters I would like to enter, but each Sensei would have to roleplay at least one teacher, the Sensei of their style.

If you haven't assigned a character to be that Sensei, then here's your chance to make the perfect character for that style...

All ideas and contributions welcome (if they're helpful and constructiive... ).

Well since Embri transfered control of red and yellow belts to me in the middle of December I've had 3 requests for yellow belts (from menelvagor, Yoshi and Chronos (not the God)). Menelvagor I had to turn down but the other two have progressed and Chronos at least seems very keen to move up as fast as possible.

On the other hand I've had a jade fox talisman sat in my inventory ever since the system came in, and the note 'request fox belt' on my to-do list and I still haven't gotten around to it. I definately come under those who left over christmas and I'm only now getting back into things properly.
